We were so happy with our experience at Boston Hedgehogs. Rachel was wonderful to work with, answered all of our questions, was quick with replies, and helped us make our son's dream of owning a hedgehog come true. And having the ability to purchase cage and heating kits at the same time made the whole process easy and stress free. I know if we ever have any questions or even need to board our hedgehog during a vacation, Rachel will be able to help us. Thank you again Rachel!

I cannot recommend this place enough. As a veterinarian I’m blown away by the accurate knowledge of Rachel and that she has dedicated her entire life to providing the best care and home for all her hedgehogs. The fact that they track each lineage when breeding and ensure top notch breeding is a rarity. She is very clearly in this for the sake of the animal and not for profit. Whether you’re an experienced hedgehog owner or a first timer, it’s very clear their goal is to make sure their hedgies go to a great home with gold standard care. I cannot imagine finding a more qualified and compassionate breeder!

I highly recommend Boston Hedgehogs! My husband and I picked up our little boy Usher (now Miki) from them 3 weeks ago after being on their waiting list for a few months. He is such a well-socialized, outgoing, and sweet boy - he has stolen the heart of everyone he’s met. The vet was even surprised by how easy he was to work with at his first wellness / establishing care visit this weekend. He’s a happy, healthy, adorable, sweet boy - everything we could have hoped for and more. Rachel was super helpful throughout the entire process of signing up for their waiting list, getting everything we needed ready for our little boy, and choosing him / bringing him home. She was available for any questions I had and made great recommendations and has gone out of her way to check in on our little boy since bringing him home. The entire experience has just been completely amazing and we will never even think about looking elsewhere if we ever get a second hedgie!

If you are on the fence about whether or not to get a hedgehog, DO IT. We were very excited when we brought our hoglet home, but could never have imagined just how much we would fall in love with her. We brought our hoglet girl home in July 2021 and it has been a purely rewarding experience. She was so healthy and well socialized that within the first week she was snuggling up with us without hesitation. She is SO SMART and somehow in a room of other friends and family, still knows our presence and will scuttle to us if she wants to feel safe and held. She is a star athlete-- if someone can invent a hedgie Peloton that would be a hit. Rachel and Bill 's hoglets are as healthy, energetic, sweet, snuggly, and smart as they come. Rachel and Bill were wonderful during the adoption process. They were very responsive to communication and answered all our questions before and after. 5-stars doesn't even do them justice. <3 Thank you Rachel and Bill for helping make our little family complete!

Thank you for boarding our girls whenever we are out of town! Rachel is kind and professional and always ensures quality care and updates throughout their stay. I feel much better knowing they are being cared for by an expert.

Boston Hedgehogs is a reliable and trustworthy breeder and I wouldn’t have chosen another breeder to adopt a baby hedgehog. Getting a hedgehog that is socialized as a baby is a helpful start to bonding with your hedgehog, and I could immediately tell that he has been handled properly by the breeder. My hoglet is healthy and doing well now, and I’m having a great time with him. Looking forward to using their boarding services in the future!

Rachel was very responsive and made the process of getting my little Oakley very easy! She is very informative and friendly and it is clear that they take great care of their hedgehogs. They offer kits that also make a first time hedgehog owner feel more at ease. I had a wonderful experience here and Oakley is just amazing!

This is an AMAZING breeder and takes and cares very much about hedgehogs! All through my process of getting a hoglet, Rachel has been by my side with every question and took time to introduce my new hoglet Mateo to me when I picked up! I have seen and met hedgehogs but just the care she takes into caring for everyone of them, they are so friendlyyyy! And they cozy right in! Back in October we decided that we wanted to add a hedgehog to our family. the pet store had a few on the way, but the more I read about hedgehogs I wasn't sure I wanted to go the pet store route. Hedgehogs aren't terribly difficult to parent, but they're are a somewhat rare critter in the US and I wasn't sure about how comfortable I'd be just picking one up from the store. Then I found Boston Hedgehogs. They're a breeder fully devoted to raising hedgehogs, not a hobbyist, and their efforts to ensure they provide healthy, sociable hoglets to new hog-parents inspired me with a deep level of confidence in them. From when I first reached sour to them they were responsive and open, going over the full process of reserving one of their hogs, providing supporting documentation and then going above and beyond to guarantee the health and happiness if their animals. Two weeks ago we finally brought little Wyatt home and he's been an absolute joy. If you decide to go in on a hedgehog I can't stress how awesome it is that Boston Hedgehogs provides a complete go-home kit. And when I say complete, it's complete. A great enclosure, wheel, toys, hut, water bottle, food bowl, heater lamp with thermostat, play pen, and care products like bathing products, brush, and scale for weight check ins. You can go the pet store route, get no guarantee on the animal, no support, and generally little knowledge on best practices, or you can go with someone who's made this their mission. It may seem more "expensive" on paper, but the Boston Hedgehogs delivers incredible value for the money and you're supporting someone who's goal is ensure healthy & happy Hedgehogs

I've had a great experience with Boston Hedgehogs! Every time I had a question about hedgehogs, they would respond very quickly! Their website also provides important information for caring for a hedgehog. My little boy, Quest, has been a highlight of my day everyday and I'm super glad I decided to get him!

They love their hedgehogs. The care and attention they give them and the prospective owners is remarkable. My daughter, who is 11, has been in touch with them for the months leading up to our adoption of her Hedgebaby. Her numerous inquiries were, and are still, met with timely and thoughtful responses. Visited Rachel's home with my cousin as we were both interested in getting a hedgehog. During the course of our visit, Rachel showed us babies that looked sickly and the smell was enough to make my eyes water. We ended up purchasing a hedgehog at Natick Pet World and had a much better experience. Stay far away from this breeder.
