I wanted to wait before reviewing melody and her farm until our girl got a little older. We are beyond pleased with our girl - Sadie, a gorgeous silver lab with green eyes. She is smart, has an amazing temperament, easy to train, affectionate etc. melody was thorough and set us up for a great experience all along the way. She truly cares about the pups well being - and making sure we’re ready to raise her with the right guidance and limits. This is our fifth large dog and we learned new tricks - follow what melody says and you’ll have a terrific experience. Thanks melody.

Glorified puppy mill.. advertise on the site no kennels. When you arrive the dogs are shoved in kennels in a pool house looking thing in the back of a house. No farm in site. Not to mention the puppies are 4 weeks old and being viewed by anyone and everyone who will pay for them. No breeder allows this as it’s not healthy for the puppies and the moms get stressed out. Two female dogs fighting were seen by my children ( female mothers). These dogs are highly stressed out and are thrown outside while people view their babies. I have bought from breeders before and this place is bad. Check reviews for better business bureau online: dogs with eye problems and genetic hip problems being sold and no phone calls returned. This place is BAD, stay away.

We got our lab boy from hoof and paw in summer of 2018. 2 years later I feel good about posting a review. Charlie is a yellow lab who is awesome with the whole family and loves his 4 yr old fellow lab Hank. Charlie is very handsome . He loves to play, loves to swim is very athletic,, and is good with all ages. He definitely barks too much but thats more of a failure on us then him as we never sought to resolve it when he was a young pup. We are super happy with our boy and would absolutely get another dog here.

While we had a wonderful experience first picking out our puppy it’s gone down hill from that. Puppy had a number of medical issues including guardia. The meds the breeder gave us weren’t working and she was supposed to send other meds but never did. Vet said we shouldn’t have been giving him what Hoof n paw had given us or recommended. We’ve had a lot of health and behavioral issues with Our pup from hoof n paw and their follow up and attentiveness with us really wasn’t acceptable. Based on our experience we wouldn’t recommend this breeder

Puppy Mill !! We got a dog from Them that has hip dysplasia and when we contacted them we were cussed and they refused to do anything about it. After some research I do not think we are the only ones that have had this issue with them.

I have been looking for a new puppy and reading reviews about different breeders and for the life of me I can't understand why people would buy a charcoal or silver Labrador, try to register them with those color selections, there is no such color according to AKC standards, there is a rumor that seems very likely that these charcoal and silver coat colors come from an oops mating of a Lab with a Weimeraner, a lot of these dogs do look like Weims. Leg problems are common in Labs and a host of other problems and a good breeder would not breed any dog with a history of such health problems, I have owned several labs, a pet shop lab was my first, she was healthy, luckily, my 3nd was a rescue, that passed from lymes, she was affected when I got her, I knew she was sick and wanted to give a home where she would know she was wanted, my 4th lab came from an AKC breeder, she had great blood lines, and she lived for 14 years, she was the love of my life, my companion and partner in crime. So please, don't support breeders that are selling pups just to make a buck.

We brought our beautiful Tessie home from hoof and paw July 19. She is just amazing! Heathy, happy, smart and gorgeous! She has completed our family and we are so happy with her. The family that runs this was so helpful and I would do it all o we again in an instant. I have no problem recommending them at all. The dogs are all well taken care of. They have room to play and be social. The puppies have beautiful living spaces and lots of toys to stimulate their senses. Everything is top notch!

Update: My puppy had some problems limping for a few months, but seems like it resolved. She is pretty anti-social with strangers, regardless of our efforts to socialize her from a young age. Her health is great so far, her fur is gorgeous, and she’s SUPER smart. Living up to the choc lab stereotype of being crazy, but we love her. The property has many adult labs with free reign, and every single one of them will greet you with wagging tales when you arrive. Sure, there could be a few dogs with aggression problems, but there were just too many happy dogs for me to be concerned. As for bad knees / hips, my puppy from hoof n paw is only 4 months old, and is doing well. Definitely something to keep a close eye on. She does have an umbilical hernia, and came home with giardia (they sent home medicine, but it did not work). Her personality is awesome, a lot of energy, and very sweet. She does good in large groups (things like thanksgiving and birthdays with 25+ ppl), amazing with our other dog, but gets a little anxious in public. VERY SMART! Much like the other dogs from this breeder, she is very good looking, with an impressive build. The only thing I would say, it is a little alarming the number of dogs on the property, and the amount of litters born at a time. They all seemed well taken care of, and by no means neglected. So far so good.

I seem to have the same problems with my dog that other owners have. A a few years ago, we got a black lab from these breeders. At first, she was the perfect dog; funny, playful, perfect off-leash, never chewed anything, got along with everyone and everything. She and our other dog went everywhere with us and she was very well socialised. Then things changed (about a year ago). She suddenly became extremely aggressive towards the other animals (dog, cats) in our home, animals she grew up with. When I say aggressive, I mean red zone, kill aggressive. I thought maybe it was something organic (cancer?). I took her to the vet for exam, blood work, etc and the vet could find nothing physically wrong. I should also add that she had to be muzzled at the vet visit because she was growling at the vet. Today, I again took her to the vet for a blown knee. So not only is she very aggressive and can’t be around any other living creatures, but she has a bum knee. I have to now rotate all the animals in my household so she doesn’t attack any of them and make sure no other dogs come near us when we’re out for a walk; she is a 75-pound, unpredictable dog. It is stressful on everyone and not even close to ideal. Ironically, I chose this breed because of their easygoing personality.

Our lab has had so many health issues. She is nearly four now and has two bad knees. We have surgery scheduled on the first one to the tune of $3,000. I see other reviewers saying the same thing. Yes puppies are great and cute but long term the quality this breeder puts out is terrible. I also agree with one of the reviewers who said their dog is aggressive. My lab gets aggressive particularly with kids and dogs despite being raised around kids and other dogs. We love her, she is part of the family, but be prepared to spend many thousands of dollars keeping your lab healthy long term. I wouldn’t recommend this breeder to anyone.

I could not be happier with my 1.5 year old female black lab. She is healthy and a sweet heart. The owners were knowledgeable and the process was easy. I'm so glad I found Hoof-n-paws a top notch breeder.

Not a pet store. English Labrador breeders. We just acquired a new addition to our family. Her name is Love and she is a sweetheart. This family is professional, involved and caring. Their breeders are beautiful therefore their puppies are as well. If you are looking to make an addition to your family I would highly recommend them.

I would not recommend this breeder to anybody. I wish there was a way to stop there business. They are over breeding and I wish I knew this before I bought my black lab pup from them. Oh I love her to death but she has something called OCD, Osteochondrosis. My pup started limping about 6 months old and when I took her to the vet that’s what they diagnosed her with. From there she needed a specialist. I did try and phone Hoof n Paw hoping they could guide me in the right direction. They never phoned back. This is a genetic disease. I also wanted them to know hoping they would think about not breeding my pups parents again so this wouldn’t keep happening to people. She has had her surgery and it was very expensive and now she is limping again but on a different leg. It is heart breaking watching your dog limp around knowing they are in pain.

This breeder adopted out a puppy from one of their own litters with known aggression issues who then bit a child and an adult. Their ethics are questionable at best and they are irresponsible dog breeders. I would avoid giving them your business in any way.

I have a now three year old lab from this breeder. Our interactions with the breeder in the beginning were excellent, and we brought home our black lab puppy. In her first year, it took us six months of various treatments to get rid of the worms she came to us with. She also had pneumonia so badly that she almost did not make it. We spent far more in her first year than we did when we bought her! Around age one, she started limping on her left back knee. It turns out she needed a TPLO surgery to the tune of nearly $4000. Around this time we met another family with a lab from Hoof N Paw. Their lab was about six months older than ours, and had already gone through the same surgery. In speaking with them, the other back knee was also bad and needed the same surgery. This particular family also mentioned to us that as their lab ages, he has become more aggressive despite being very well socialized. And I found that odd as we have found our dog to be an amazing and sweet lab. However, she is now older and the aggression is there. We are stumped as to why, she sees lots of different people, she plays with other dogs, but she is now so protective that she shows too much aggression. Our lab turned three years old today, and now her back right leg is basically shot. By the end of the day she does not put weight on it at all. In speaking with our vet, both of the issues she’s had with her legs are genetic. She is a very well cared for, extremely well loved dog and we will do anything for her to make her pain free. She is going to need surgery on her right leg as well. Recently we met yet another family with a lab from this breeder. Their lab has had back hip issues so badly, that even though he is not that old, he hobbles around like an old dog. The first family we met, as well as myself, have attempted to contact the breeder and inform them of the TPLO issues. On their website they list all sorts of genetic issues that their dogs are free of, but no mention of TPLO. Of course we received no response. Please beware, read reviews from people with dogs that aren’t still puppies or have passed their first year.
