A Dog's Day Out - Springfield Springfield, Maryland

Beware of boarding your dog here overnight. Their website says that “ Your dog will be in a safe and clean environment as well as supervised by our dog-loving staff”, however, there is no daycare attendant present at night. They simply put your dog into a crate with a bowl of water and leave. Other places at least have overnight attendants to make sure the dogs are fine in case of an emergency.

We paid $50 a day for NO SERVICE!!!!!! Our dog's bed reaked of urine when it was returned to us. And more importantly he only recieved 4 doses of his twice a day medicine when he should have recieved 10 (two for each of the 5 days). Will never use them again and will tell everyone who asks to avoid this company at all costs.

I used to like coming often but the lack of interaction with my dogs and other dogs- has bummed me out.

Our boy loves this place so much we can’t even say “doggie daycare” until we are ready to leave the house. Staff are nice, they are constantly cleaning to keep up with all the pups, which is good. They do grooming and other things there too. Even had to board him there once when he was on 2 different medications and they made sure he got them on time and also got rest. A little pricey in my opinion but we love it! Manager Alex is the best!!! Owner is very responsive and solicits feedback regularly which he also follows up on.

Our hound dog loves it here. Always goes in super happy, comes out sad he has to leave. But also super tired when we get home. Makes the night time routine easier for everyone.

This is not a bogus review. I am saddened to say the former employee I was talking to had a video of the incident in which the dog was hurt. I was a former client. I will update again when I speak with the owner about the matter.***** We used to take our dogs here a few days a week, but once management changed a few years back we stopped because the new staff was so incompetent. I don't normally write reviews of places, but had to warn people about this company after recent findings. The Owner tells his staff to lie to clients about their dogs all the time. Dogs get locked up for long periods of time, and nothing is ever relayed accurately to the owners. At one of his locations a staff member seriously hurt a dog by THROWING it. He told the owners the dog "fell" because he didn't want "bad press". This is a terrible company, I wouldn't tell anyone to bring their dogs here. STAY AWAY!!!

My dogs love this place. I really don't understand the negative reviews I see. I take both my dogs about twice a week and every time the staff is friendly, the dogs are happy, the price is reasonable. I highly recommend.

We have been taking our dog to the Springfield location for a few weeks now and have had such a positive experience. Everyone knows her name and drop off/pick up is a breeze. Super nice staff!

My dog has been coming here since she was 16 weeks old, and is now a year. Everyone knows her name, they make a fuss every time they see her, which is weekly. They are fun, caring and approachable staff that always tell me how her day went. We've boarded her too and I've recommended this awesome place to many friends and dog walkers. It's helped my dog become friendly and sociable with other dogs and their owners. I would seriously be lost without this place. Keep up the good work Justin and team!

Readers who see Jennifer Reeves’ critical review should be aware that she abandoned her two dogs and left town without paying a very large bill. Her two dogs received loving care from ADDO for more than 60 days. Like any other business, ADDO wanted to be paid for its services. This place is horrible! They do not care about your dogs they only care about your money! STAY AWAY!!!

We have been bringing our puppy there since January. She is always happy to go. Our girl is fearful of strangers, but she loves all the staff there.

They use a rope leash to move the dogs from place to place, but because of my experience I think they tie the dogs up for a lot longer than they let on. My dog came back with a rope burn! Never again. Staff when we picked her up seemed rude and uninterested as well. EDIT: Owner called and explained why they use the rope and apologized for the staff issue. I'm very happy they care about their customers!

Same owner as the other locations, who should never interact with living things in general because he is so toxic. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. There are several places in a Burke that offer better facilities and are much more pleasant to do business with in general.

I am amazed you have had that reaction. Since he first opened in Merrifield I have boarded my black lab Oliver, and found the owners and staff members to be very caring and conscientious about Ollie's needs. He will boadr with them again next week at their new Springfield location much closer to my house. While I always hate to leave Ollie, I know he will be a happy boy with all the attention and interaction/exercise he gets when he stays at a Dog's Day Out. I am sorry you have not had a good experience, but to me, they are five star.
