Dr. Alexander is amazing. My little girl wasn’t feeling well and he was very kind, gentle, and patient with both her and I as I asked a bunch of silly questions. Both of my Pups, Bo-Katan and Jax, like it here. The staff is nice, communicates well, and genuinely seem to enjoy their jobs.

Best Vet EVER!!! My cat decided to attack a pit bull (dog didn’t even try to fight back) and ended up slicing his stomach open on a Sunday. Dr. Alexander left a family party an hour away to come help my kitty. He even checked in on him a few days later. The place is always clean and the staff is friendly and efficient. I highly recommend this place.

DO NOT GO HERE! Do not put money into this hospitals pockets. If your pet needs something this hospital does not offer/do… and they find out you take your pet to another clinic/hospital they will “fire” you as a client and your pet as a patient! They do not in anyway care how long you’ve been a client. They will genuinely make you feel bad for going else where to get something done that they do not offer. Sure every place has their own policies but maybe if you don’t want bad reviews or people going else where then step your game up and offer what everyone else is? It’s simple. Definition of UNPROFESSIONAL !!!!

I have been going to Dr Alexander animal hospital since they opened. I want to say I have noticed their care to be mediocre when their office got busier. I enjoyed going to see Dr Whitley on Friday’s and didn’t mind waiting to speak to her regarding Rocky. She really listened and seemed to care about my pups needs. I continued to go to Alexander’s even though the front ladies who answered the calls minus a few were really not nice and always seemed to be in such a rush. I brushed that off and kept coming because i believe loyalty pays off. It sure didn’t. The reason I am sharing because I want the office to know that kindness is the greatest thing you could do to any animal parent. If you were kind and patient ~ things like this wouldn’t happen. Maybe I would have understood better. We as customers pay the office which In turn pays you all. I work answering calls and treat my customers with gentleness and kindness. I understand that we need appointments and don’t mind waiting. I have recommended many people to Alexander’s but today was just too crazy to pass up and let go. So this crazy story happened yesterday on my sons birthday. First it was my mistake for going on the wrong Friday at 5. My original appointment was on the 6th of Aug not 7/30. I took my rocky in for a routine ear appointment.l to see Dr Whitley. She told me to come in while I was waiting in the car. Covid. She told me to come in and asked me to put rocky on the scale. I weighed him. She escorted me into the room. I should have noticed the blanket on the floor. I tripped on it. Then she ever so politely asked me to fill out a form. I was about to but asked her what it was for. She politely told me it was for Rocky's cremation. The heck. What. I was so calm. And just bolted out of there with rocky in tow. No one called and apologized. I guess loyalty doesn’t matter here. All you had to do was call and just say sorry. Now it’s time for a new vet. Just do better for someone else’s sake. Be kinder and a little more patient.

Took our foster dog there twice - once on a rush, due to urgency….they were quick, pleasant, and right on target in terms of treatment. Definitely a great place for your pets to go.

Dr. Alexander is very good with letting you know the health of your pet and he is very good with my dog!

Dr Alexander is a wonderful Vet. He took care of a soft tissue sarcoma on my dogs leg. He was able to get all the cancer. Other than hair still growing in you can barely tell she even had surgery. He removed several other lumps, skin tags and lipomas. I highly recommend him.

Long time patient, Oliver, my Shiba Inu has been coming to Dr. Alexander for nearly 6 years. Dozen’s of normal appointments over the years but I wanted to share that when it’s an emergency to us as fur parents, but not ER worthy, Dr. A and his staff work every possible way to make time to see our pets. I’ve never had or seen some of the alleged negative experiences with the front desk Staff or Dr. A himself that are in some of the 1 Star reviews. Its a very clean and professional Veterinary Hospital. I’ve never had unneeded medications pushed on us and Dr. A always fully explains the reasoning behind what he does recommend. TL;DR Dr. Alexander and his staff are the best Veterinary in the area, probably the entire country. Finally a place to bring your pets that you know they are well cared for.

Dr. Alexander is a wonderful veterinarian. Last week we had to put down our beautiful 15 year old Springer Spaniel. He was very compassionate and helped me through this emotionally challenging event. He was very empathetic and thoroughly explained the entire process. He has a real rapport with our dog and demonstrated his love for God's beautiful creature in a way I never realized. I highly recommend him.

I had my puppy spayed and the vet gave substandard care. I have had many animals and I will never take any animal here again. Shame on you.

I gave 1-star because the vets here have been wonderful and I originally came here based off a referral, but the office staff does not make me feel comfortable. I went in to get my dog her rabies vaccination and asked the vet tech. if they would be able to administer the injection in a less noticeable spot on my dog (because she has had hair loss at the injection site before). When the tech. went to go check with the doctor to see if it would be okay, I stood up from my seat to go to the front counter to pay ahead. The two ladies there were whispering mockingly. When they finally noticed I was standing there, they weren't smiling anymore and they ducked their heads down. I left feeling guilty to have asked a question. I still went back though because I trusted their veterinarians. Yesterday, I went to order flea and tick medication on their online website and it got denied stating "We have not seen you in 2-years. You are no longer a client". I'm not sure how this is possible considering I went back early 2020 (I believe around March) when they were practicing their COVID-19 precautions (stay in the car, we will come out to get your dog and call you with any updates and for payment). I find it strange that you need to see them at least once a year or "you are no longer a client", but every place has their own policy, I guess. Edit: My friend just brought it to my attention that they might have taken me off as a client because I went to another veterinary hospital to get titer testing done (because it isn't offered at Alexander). If that's the case, I would wonder if this is how they treat people who go get second opinions? Also, I found out that I don't even need a prescription for my flea and tick medication so I'm not sure why I would need to see them every year in order to get it? Thankfully, found it online easily.

Always loved Dr. Alexander, even when he was working for Pasadena animal hospital. He has always shown such compassion for the animal's and very knowledgeable. In an emergency they will help with payment plans, they have helped us many times. Was just there 2 weeks ago and they took great care of my dog, and all meds prescribed are working great. You will not be disappointed with them!

Extremely disappointed with Dr. Alexander and his staff. I had an emergency situation and called his office and was told to take my dog to the emergency hospital in Annapolis because they were closing soon. I called Dr. Alexander the next day to go over what had happened and if he agreed that I should give my dog a medicine that was prescribed that could potentially shut down other organs. Upon calling I was told I had to make an office visit if I wanted to talk about that! Really!! I had just spent $500 the night before and now I can’t even ask a question. I was then told she would talk to Dr. A and have him call me back or she would. Never received a call back... I had to transfer records on just my one dog to a vet because of her conditions. Dr. A’s staff transferred all of my dogs records and now I have been calling Dr. A for four days about my other Dogs without a return phone call. Just keep being told he’s busy he will get back to me when he can.

Dr. Alexander has a wonderful vet. He took care of my Barney and now he is taking care of my Tank. He really cares about his animals ( patient's ) Don't take my word for it , see for yourself and bring your pet to him ???? . That's what I used to think. I parted ways with Dr. Alexander 6 months ago. My dog was very sick , (long story) , but he was yelling and screaming to me on the phone, then told me he couldn't help my dog then hung the phone up on me ???????????? . I called him back and gave him a piece of my mind ! Needless to say, we are DONE !!! ????????????

We've taken out dog & cat there for years. The vets are amazing (especially Dr Alexander!!!) - super good with the animals, don't prescribe things you don't need, and even noticed a heart murmur no vet had detected before. Thanks!!

We have been taking my dog to Dr Alexander for a couple years and did so based on the positive reviews. If your looking for a truly attentive and responsive veterinary practice this is definitely not the place. We never had issues with Dr Alexander’s routine annual care until my dog started having chronic medical problems. That’s when, the true nature of the veterinary practice started to be exposed. Dr Alexander was never readily available at Those times and either had to wait an unreasonable period for a sick appointment or referred to the emergency vet. They advertise after hours emergency care but that is pretty much a joke since they still refer you to the emergency vet anyway. In December 2019 my dog began to have noticeable blood in the urine, urinary urgency and a poor urine stream. Of course as always Dr Alexander was away and my dog was seen by the covering vet Dr Kip. First visit went ok and he was given antibiotics & NSAIDS for prostatitis and sent home. After a couple days he wasn’t any better and appeared very uncomfortable. I called Dr. Kip and was told that’s all they could do and the antibiotics needed more time to work. The next day which was a Friday, I called again because at this time my dog was only dribbling very small amounts of urine and was again told there was nothing they could do and take him to the emergency vet. During this time they never performed any additional diagnostic tests such as an X-ray or blood work despite the urine tests being normal. After a visit to the emergency vet at Annapolis it was found he had a urinary blockage due to Bladder stones and a procedure was performed to flush the blockage. However my dog would ultimately need surgery to remove the additional stones and he had been suffering unnecessarily for several days based on the advice and lack of care from Dr Kip despite no improvement, worsening sx and my voiced concerns. Unfortunately because of the holidays and lack of relationship with another vet, I had no choice but to have them do the surgery. My dog is terrified of the vet and weighs 200lbs. We were told he had to be there by 11am but they didn’t even perform the surgery until 4pm. By the time they were done it was close to their closing time and they were basically rushing us out the door and shutting the lights off when we got there to pick him up. He could barely walk since he didn’t have anytime to recover from the anesthesia and they were of no help getting my 200lb dog into the car. My husband and I pretty much did all the work. No call or no f/u was ever received from Dr Alexander considering that the reason he is able to take so many vacations comes from the pockets of the animal owners who entrust the care of their animals to him and his “visiting” vets. Stupid me, I tried to give the benefit of the doubt to Dr Alexander but once again when my Dog had an emergency, Dr Alexander is nowhere to be found and referred to emergency vet again. Ok, now I am done. I found another vet willing to see him right away. I called the office and requested my dogs medical records be sent to the new vet and was told they could only send the vaccination records. The medical history is apparently Dr Alexander’s property and could not be released to me without his permission. Really, I can’t get my dog‘a medical records to continue his care elsewhere especially since they couldn’t accommodate his care. I have never heard of such a thing and only proves further that the well being of the animal is not the main priority at this practice. Please beware.

We loved this vet! The staff is super friendly and helpful. The facility is very cleanly. They do not overcharge or add hidden fees. Unfortunately, we recently moved about 45 mins away and started seeing a new vet. Seriously considering making that drive to go back. You will never find a better vet that Alexander Animal Hospital!

Despite moving 40+ minutes from Dr. A’s animal hospital, the drive is worth it! I’ve always felt that my dog’s in good hands as Dr. A and his staff make her (and me) feel comfortable through her annual appointments and don’t break the bank. I’d highly recommend this animal hospital for all of your vet needs.

great vets. They never suggest the most expensive treatment. They always start out with the regular stuff to see if it works and it almost always does.
