Management is very unprofessional and don't care about employees. Do you want to support a place where employees are not appreciated?

We love this place. They always take such good care of Bou! Boarding, day care, grooming... They have it all!

Couldn’t be happier with the grooming our little Morkies get from Sniffers.

My dog is always happy to arrive at SNIFFERS, and that makes me feel good, as well. The place is spotless, the employees are friendly and welcoming, and all my requests for care and feeding are followed to a “T”. I’d gladly recommend SNIFFERS to anyone who LOVES their dog(s). ????

I adopted a dog last year and I needed a place that could provide training, daycare and boarding. I really struck gold when I found Sniffers. Their training staff Jordan and Dylan were amazing and really helped Hamilton adjust as a puppy being in a new environment. He was able to outgrow a lot of typical puppy bad Hahn with their help. The entire staff is always friendly and attentive and simply love Hamilton and he loves them (it’s like his Disney World). He looks forward to playing with his friends in daycare. I never worry on the rare occasions when I need to board him. They take such good care of him. I recommend them to anyone looking for a safe clean place for their fur baby!

We have been using Sniffers for the past four-months and greatly appreciate the services offered for daily dog care and multi-day boarding. When we pick Ruby up and is content, some days exhaust, and ready to greet us with a wagging tail. Staffing will vary, there are a handful of outstanding members and a few team members on the new side, so please be patient with the rookies. The available video monitoring system is ok, but you have to purchase the app at $5 for a one-year subscription, the video feed is VERY choppy with severe lag, and comes across as more of a single frame snapshot every second or two, it is not true live video.

*warning graphic photos** I am hoping to warn anyone considering using Sniffers Dog Retreat in Rockville. We just boarded our dog Ghost there while we were traveling and had a horrible experience we hope no one else will have to endure. We received a call from a Sniffers staff member letting us know that another dog attacked our sweet dog (a silver lab). He had multiple punctures and wounds to his back legs and tail. They told us the dog in the kennel next to him attacked him. We couldn't figure out how this happened when he was supposed to have a "luxury suite." In fact, we found out the dogs are separated by chicken wire that is 1-2 inches off the ground. The attacking dog was able to get ahold of him under the wire. Ghost is now spending 2 nights at the hospital and is not doing well. We did not get a call from Sniffers to see how he was doing or how we were doing following the initial call to report the incident. They are covering his vet bills, but other than that no sympathy, concern, or care has been expressed. They wouldn't give us information we needed to check on the attacking dog's history, claiming a privacy policy. They also chose to keep boarding the attacking dog and never contacted the owner of the dog to inform them that their dog attacked another dog. We are actively trying to get reports filed with Animal Control. Really disappointed with the lack of care, concern, and poor handling of the entire incident on the part of Sniffers and hope this posts saves others from what Ghost is going through. Edited to include response to the owner: my name is Chris not Karen. Your post is a perfect example of why we needed to post this. This was not an accident. This was a lack of care and concern from you. There was no bullying. You chose to not help us get the information we needed to take care of our dog. If you had done the right thing from the beginning this post would not be necessary. We also learned that you don’t have rooms as advertised on your website. They are spaces separated by chicken wire with 1-2 inches of room off the floor which is how this dog was able to attack our dog. I also would be curious as to why you have dealt with animal control in the past if this never has occurred previously.

Would not recommend under any circumstances. Certainly accidents happen, but seeing the owner's response below referring to a customer and dog owner of an injured pet under their care as "Karen" is pretty pitiful and should tell you everything you need to know about the level of professionalism and care you'll get. Even if it was not intentional, to not even know the name of a customer whose dog who was seriously injured and went from their care to an emergency vet for 2 days is pretty awful.

When a dog is injured in a place you pay a premium to keep him safe, the responsibility is on the owner/workers to ensure that the dog has recovered as well as fixing the issues including making sure the source of the issue (the attacking dog) has been removed so that other dogs do not get hurt too. This place has been incredibly flippant about an incident that caused my dog nephew an incredible amount of pain and suffering. His constant whining and crying from the pain is heartbreaking. Further to call the owner, a Karen, when you very clearly knew his name is so unprofessional and obviously clear that you really don’t care about the dog’s or your client’s wellbeing. Shame on you for handling a very difficult situation with defensiveness and a complete lack of compassion instead of taking responsibility and caring.

These guys nearly killed my neighbors dog and didn’t even have the compassion to check up with the owner. They false advertised the conditions of what that poor doggy would be staying in. And Furthermore it seems as soon as i left a review letting the public know what horror they caused, there were immediately 5 stars reviews posted, indicated they most likely create fake 5 stars reviews to counter any bad experience. Shady and shameful.

YEA, not a good place to take your dog unless you want to put your dog at risk of getting attacked by another dog & have them not care or have any sympathy.

We have a large breed puppy and we were looking at local daycare facilities in the area to take her too to help run off some energy during the day. We liked that Sniffers required a temperament test before signing up for daycare days to see how your dog plays and reacts with others. After passing the temperament class we were offered free daycare days to use within a week to see if they were a good fit for our dog. The next time we brought her, as soon as we rounded the corner, she knew where she was and got very excited. She walked with the staff member without a glance back! It’s great to know she’s happy to be there and periodically checking the webcam and seeing her play with other dogs is such a good feeling. We will definitely be purchasing more daycare days!

Sniffers has been an absolute blessing for my dog and I. Their ability to provide seamless transitions when I travel keeps my dog happy and at peace. Excellent care, attention to detail, and top facilities make Sniffers my top choice!

The service you pay for is not what you get. Rude and unapologetic.

Nothing but great experiences at Sniffers Doggie Depot. I've been taking my dog here for 3+ years now for daycare and boarding. Staff is always responsive and accommodating, and has done a great job caring for my dog. I highly recommend Sniffers.

Sniffers is the best!!!! The dog trainers at Sniffers have done so much to build my dog's confidence as well as my own. We love the opportunity to go to the graduates training classes to keep up with training! We are so glad we found this place! So worth the hour drive for the best care!

I boarded my boxer puppy for 3 day and when he was returned to us he now has kennel cough, his balls are patchy and bloody and the vet says his paws were burnt on the pavement. I’m truly disappointed, this was my family’s first time boarding him and this was a horrible experience which surprise me since they came highly recommended for our vet.

They're great. Clean, bright facility, lots of happy dogs. Very generous try-out policy, too. We will definitely be seeing a lot of Sniffers this summer.

We are so glad we found Sniffers! We put our chiweenie Brandy in daycare for a couple days ahead of a three-week Board & Train program. The staff at daycare are super attentive and we could not be happier with the results of her training with Dylan! Brandy is now much more focused at home and, now that we have the tools to train her properly, is showing awesome progress with her reactivity to other dogs on walks. We also really liked how Dylan updated us throughout the three weeks and our lessons with him, showing us what Brandy had learned. We will definitely be returning for more lessons and daycare.

I recently found Sniffers, and I'm very glad I did. It is a clean place and the staff cares about the dogs. I also like that they have functioning cameras so that I can check in on him. My dogs last daycare had malfunctioning cameras with seemingly no interest in fixing them. I plan to board him in a few weeks, and will try to update my review about the boarding experience. I am expecting that my rating will be the same.

My 7 year old dog stayed here for 2 nights and had never spent the night away from home. She seemed perfectly fine when we picked her up, no trauma! The practice of giving free daycare for a few days to acclimate my dog was very helpful and very much appreciated! thank you!

My energetic 1 year old Boxer/Lab mix is one pooped pup after a full day of daycare at SNIFFERS. I love that I don't have to worry about his excess energy after a long day at work. It is also lovely that I can check in on him from time to time using the webcams they have set up. My fur baby loves the outdoors, so it's great that on nice days he can get a bit of sunshine in their outdoor play area. I also really appreciate that all the staff are nice and personable to the owners as well. It's something that I wish other dog daycare facilities would put more effort into. Thanks SNIFFERS!
