Doctors were very knowledgeable and genuine when it came to the discussion of options for surgery.

Dr. Benson did emergency surgery on my dog immediately. I thought hygiene was poor and workers weren't routinely wearing masks, though they did if asked. Front desk was polite and professional with my question. I wasn't allowed back with my dog, and I worried about hygiene and sanitary procedures.

Benson is great with clients and their furry children. We have taken 5 of our pets here. Recently, things have really fallen off. We waited 3 days for antibiotics for kennel cough. This was never the case before. It seems that finding good team members has effected the practice. If you get Dr Benson you are in good hands. If you need to deal with most everyone else good luck! Some are awesome and others are not good.

Dr Benson is a good surgeon. I've used him to perform cherry eye surgery over 10 times on different dogs and only one time it was not successful ( happens, I'm not mad about it)- what I am mad about is what happened with a puppy I brought to him that was not for surgery: 9 week old puppy with suspicion to Parvo was brought in and discussed thoroughly with his team before the admission. Knowing myself how parvo tests are ran I specifically asked to ran several of those true the day, knowing they can come back negative since it is human preparation and mistakes can happen. Parvo must be treated fast with support as well. I've been calling for 3 days! To get any information and as well to provide protocol that worked for another littermates puppy in different clinic ( overseas clinic which was great, no need to chase them, they called by themselves 3 times a day to update with course of their actions and performed extra testing true the day as I asked with no issues). On day one my first call to dr Benson clinic, technician said that parvo test was negative, knowing by then that there is another puppy with parvo i insisted to ran another test ( i am paying for it anyway so i dont see the problem not doing it on their part). From that moment i could not reach any doctor in the clinic for 3 days, left countless msged to ask dr Benson to give me a call, was promised countless times that msg was delivered and he will call. On 3rd day of 0 comunication I simply drove to the clinic and insisted to see my puppy and take her away to another clinic ( should of done it next day after not relieving comunication but i simply could not believe dr Benson operates like that). I was handled the almost dead puppy, only after they made me pay the hefty bill. I asked and recieved a list of actions that were performed all those days to this puppy and was shocked to see that other then being on fluids and rarely checked nothing significant for Parvo support was done. Puppy died shortly in my hands. The littermate recovered 100% in overseas clinic with their amazing fast proffecional action. No one cared for this puppy at this clinic and I highly doubt dr Benson even saw the puppy. The whole situation is ridiculous and left me in great shock. Dr Benson should stay in the surgery only, yes he good at it no doubt. Anything else dont bring your pet there. The team of receptionists and techs been horrible for years

I had two kittens spayed & a cat neutered. Excellent veterinary place!

Puppy tested on a Saturday for parasites. Results Monday. Had to call for results Tuesday. Positive for parasite. Doctor never called in Rx. Called Wednesday. Heard nothing. Call Thursday say we’ll be down afternoon get meds. Told vet didn’t write RX yet..... waiting. Say they’ll call when ready. Called at 5 still no Rx.... only have 1 med in stock.... long argument on phone over getting Rx and lousy service. Now trying to call it I. To Walmart... when? They aren’t sure but after 8 tonight.... pharmacy will be closed. Horrible service

I started going to Dr Benson at the start of the Covid pandemic. Little longer waits and had to sit in car, but we all got through it and when it was all said and done, Dr. Benson took the time to come out to my car and talk with me about any issues or findings. The prices are amazing compared to most Vets. I will continue to bring my pets here.

Where do I start ???? I’m new to this hospital and im a vet tech myself at a different hospital.. smaller...I’m vary pleased with everything at this place besides sometimes u get placed on hold vary long but they always ask is this an emergency ????!! working in the vet world I understand we never have enough staff, you never know when that blocked cat or emergency is walking in the door.. not all clients understand that we all work hard doing 100 things! We try to keep the schedule on time but things happen and at times we get set back! Most freak out and give bad reviews because they google!!! My first time here I was a hot mess because I’m always in the room when my dogs go under for surgery I’m always there for a visit but with COVID things are different and I don’t work for this hospital but I’ve heard great things.. I’ve never taking my animals to a different doctor besides the ones I worked with..this was my first time because most hospitals are crazy busy since covid and I need a emergency c section! I can say the staff here is amazing!! Haven’t ran into a bad apple!! The were all vary well spoken and respectful!! I’ve sat in the parking lot for hours waiting for my dog to finish surgery and I watched how everyone works!! They are vary caring when they take animals out for walks.. They are wonderful helping animals in and out of cars!! They all kept masks on ( it’s so hard to approach’s dogs with them and to keep them on!) with the snow the parking lot was clear and even one of the techs came out to get the spots that the truck didn’t.. The ladies there understand my craziness when it comes to my babies!! Dr Benson is wonderful and he is a doctor ????‍⚕️ With a big heart ❤️ when it comes to the animals not just the $$$.. I can’t say anything bad about this hospital!! I’m vary happy with all the staff at this hospital!! just like the hospital I work for we are family!! I definitely feel like family when I bring my animals here!! Today is the first time I’m ever boarding my dogs and again the ladies understand my craziness for my babies they took them right in and comfort them on the way in. I could go on n on but just know more then 5 ⭐️ s is needed for this place! Great job guys!!

Very unprofessional staff, doctors are not nice. They don’t keep the place clean. They just don’t care if the pet is in pain. I was just 10 minutes late to my appointment and they didn’t want to see my cat who was treated for a UTI with a medicine that didn’t work and the secretary didn’t want to even ask the doctor at the end they just said that the doctor had to leave and that wasn’t even true because the doctor was seeing other pets. I will never trust them and put the life of my pets at risk going to such a horrible clinic, the Office is so depressing, everybody look so angry and unhappy they shouldn’t be working with animals if they don’t like it. Northwest Animal Hospital is the best option in Owings Mills
