I’m not one to write reviews unless I’m extremely irritated or have been treated poorly myself. I must say, I am very irritated with this kennel. I know someone personally who use to work here. They always showed up on time, were reliable, worked hard, and were trustworthy. They were everything you could want in an employee. The owner use to yell and call my friend names, but they still continued to show up. When I found out through word of mouth by someone else who works there, that my friend was being talked badly about, by the owner himself, set me off real quick. They talked bad about my friend simply because they found a new job that paid more. I’m sorry, but that is just middle school behavior. I would never support this business. The fact the owner has no respect for his employees when they are working there, and then when they aren’t working there, gossips. Not a place I want my dogs staying at.

We have a double coated dog, so we tried the shed-free grooming service. It was fantastic!! Worth every penny. We had almost no hair clumps in the house for a month!

AGRESSIVE DOGS AT DAYCARE ATTACKED MY DOG-BEWARE I moved to Mount Airy in July 2020 and this place was a few minutes away. Reviews looked good and gave it a shot. Only took my 30 lb. hound mix 1 day a week here and there. First incident was my dog's ear was cut pretty good. Didn't require stiches and just chalked it up as him getting integrated in the pack there. Second incident I picked my dog up one day and his inner leg was cut. I called Karen, the manager there, and she could not tell me what happened and she said it was possible that he got his leg caught in the fence. It didn't require stiches but it bled a good deal. The most recent incident on February 12 was really bad. Karen called me and said my dog got caught under the outdoor fence and hurt his leg. I went there immediately and Karen met me in the lobby to explain what happened. She said the staff and the dogs were playing ball in the yard and Butler got caught under a part of the fence. He was hurt but he was walking. I want to point out my dog was nowhere to be seen. So I asked where was my dog and Karen told me he was with the veterinarian (there is a veterinarian who works out of a large RV which is parked out front. She mainly deals with strays and feral animals). I asked Karen if he was fine why was he with the veterinarian. Karen then explained that when my dog got caught under the fence and he started to howl and wail, the dogs started to converge on my dog. She must have repeated this about three times and I could not understand what she was getting at and she was also making these gestures with her hands. Mind you there was a young gal who worked in the daycare who was there when all this happened and she was just standing there silent. She had blood on one of her hands which was clearly visible. I then asked if my dog had been attacked. Karen still did not admit to that and kept on with saying how the dogs converged on my dog. I could now tell that Karen didn't want to say that that had actually happened and then I repeated myself and asked why was he was with the vet. The young gal started talking and was telling me how one dog attacked my dog and when she saw that she went to go break it up. I got the name of the dog and I am sure it was the same dog responsible for biting my dogs ear when I first started taking him there. I asked to go see my dog and the young gal walked me to the vet's RV. I went in and my dog was in the crate and you could see blood all over his neck from a large wound behind his left ear. His right ear was also punctured and his left leg which was caught in the fence also had a puncture. I started getting worried. The veterinarian said she would need to anesthetize him so she could stich up the neck, ear, leg and that I could come pick him up later that night. I left and then as I was leaving the owner, Ruth I believe her name is, came out to talk to me. She did not know what happened and I repeated what Karen had told me and I told her my dog was attacked. She was apologetic and said they had a lot of cameras and she would find out what had happened. I never heard from Karen or the owner after that night again. I went home and picked up my dog around 830pm. The vet stitched him up and gave me some antibiotics and pain meds and asked me to come back the following Monday. We then went back to get the stiches out and the tube they had to insert in the left leg for drainage purposes (picture attached of the wounds). The doctor at this clinic was a very nice lady. She works for Metro Ferals and that RV out in front of the establishment (Green Acres Pet Center is the name, not Country Kennels) is part of that organization. Thankfully I was not responsible for the vet bill. All I can say is this establishment is irresponsible. They apparently have some sort of issue with their fencing that can cause injury and harm to the dogs. Second, it is clear they are allowing aggressive dogs into their daycare facility despite conducting temperament tests on new dogs. I would look elsewhere if you need daycare.
