Martha cut my dogs ear! (Pictures included) I took my yorkie to his grooming appointment at The Groom Room on Thursday, December 9. I was told it was going to be 4 hours, instead, the grooming took only 2 — okay fine. I was at my appointment so I had my mother pick him up. I gave my mother the money for the service and provided her with a tip to give to Martha for what I thought was going to be a great outcome for the service. After my mother examined my dog, she noticed red that look liked dried blood. When I met with my mother to get my dog, I noticed his ear was very choppy and there was blood that look like it was attempted to be wiped off, and there was Quick Stop on his ear. Quick Stop is a substance used to STOP THE BLEEDING when the quick of a pets nails is cut. On the same day, about an hour after getting my dog, we drove back up to The Groom Room, and long and behold, Martha comes walking out, blasting Tupac on her phone, and headed out to leave. I brought it to her attention that she cut a chunk out of my dogs ear. She immediately went on defense and said it was only a nick to his ear. I requested to speak to a manager (who she claimed would be in the next day — Friday, then later stated that she had the flu and didnt know when she’d be coming back). What made me upset even more is the fact that Martha accepted the tip when my dog was picked up and didn’t think to part her lips about cutting my dog! She was not going to say anything had I not brought him back up there to show what she did. She was fully aware of what she did because stated she nicked him (which was actually a bad cut to his ear), and applied Quick Stop. It was very dishonest of her to not say anything and that doesn’t sit well with me, and looks very bad on the company as a whole. Martha ended up giving back the tip I left as well as a full refund. I also informed her that I will be taking my yorkie to the vet to get his ear looked at with hopes it was not infected, and I said they will need to reimburse me for the vet visit. Still no call from the owner, Laurie (today is Tuesday, 12/14). I contacted the grooming salon on 12/10, the lady who answered the phone said Laurie is going to call when she gets in on Saturday….again, STILL no call and today is Monday. I took him to the vet, thankfully there is no visible infection, but the cut will need to be treated to ensure no infection occurs. The veterinarian was nice enough to not charge me since they were running an hour behind, and it was a quick look. I will NEVER service this location again! I advise anyone who does to thoroughly check their pets because had I not been vigilant and observant, I would have not known since dishonest Martha chose not to bring it to my or my mothers attention at pick up, but so graciously accepted the tip. Laurie, since I didn't get a call back from you, as the owner and manager, there is no bill you’d have to reimburse me for since the vet did not charge me. I’m a business owner, & I know how it is on both ends of customer service. This service was unacceptable. Laurie, you could have at least called me because my number was left for you, and I was told you would call me on Saturday, you never did! Or at least have someone else call on your behalf since this was a crucial situation — she sliced my dogs ear!! Let this be a lesson to keep lines of communication open, and trustworthiness. So now, we’re still treating his cut and keeping an eye on it to ensure it does not get infected from the negligence of Martha. Accidents happen, I understand, but for her not to inform me of the accident is deplorable and concerns me. I would have respected it if she would have been professional and woman enough to mention the accident straight up and forthcoming to let me know what took place, then to leave the Quick Stop on his ear AND dried up blood in his hair. Which lets me know she didn’t even try to clean it up much. Disgusting! I don’t need any calls now. I waited, gave it 5 days, so now I’m writing about it publicly.

I brought my 3 yr. old terrier mix here and left so happy! It is the first time that he has been to a groomer and I am extremely happy about the hard work and patience they put into grooming him. I will be only coming here since I see how great they handled my little hard headed dog. He has wire scruffy hair and they were able to make my boy look beautiful! I just want to say thank you to everyone that may have played a part in taking care of him today????

We love the Groom Room! Our dog tortures them by barking the entire time, but the whole staff is very sweet about it. Thank you for all you do!

My dog LOVES going to the Groom Room... I guess everyone is nice to her because they're very nice to their customers. She comes out clean, smells and feels great and her nails look better than mine! Oh, and did I mention great rates? They were recommended to me and I recommend them to anyone with a dog or dogs!

I love Bri at the Groom Room! She is the only person who I will let groom my toy poodle who is now a 1 year old and has been receiving routine grooming since she about 3.5 months. I had an appointment with Wendy and it was the worst experience. She started out by telling me that my poodle wasn’t a pure bred poodle (she felt the hair was more like a Maltese) I explained that I had papers on my puppy, she was AKC certified and I spoke with the breeder to ensure the type of puppy I had. Nope, that wasn’t good enough! She continued to tell me she too was once a breeder and she knew her puppies. Therefore the poodle cut I was asking for May not be able to get accomplished. I explained this is the cut Bri always give me. (She was out of town). Nope, still kept saying unable to give that cut. I left with my poodle and we waited for Bri to return. So awful.

Love this small business. I use the mobile groomer and it’s perfect for us. A bit costly but you pay for the convenience and I’m ok with that. It’s a great spot and they do a really good job on our 4 pups.

Great staff. My dog came out very well trimmed and bathed. Even her nails were filed. There was still a lot of loose hair on her but other than that they did a great job. Staff was very friendly and u was able to get an appointment in about a week.

I’ve been taking my fur babies to the GroomRoom since it opened !!! Everyone there is always courteous, friendly. Wendy (groomer) is excellent and dependable. The girls who bathe the pups are also TERRIFIC!!! If looking for a new groomer The Groom Room is the only place to go !!!!!!

I’m only commenting on the mobile grooming. Carl is extremely unreliable. Canceled one week, then rescheduled and didn’t show up. He didn’t bother to text or call. I’ve used the shop, and they are fabulous.... do not use the mobile service!!!!

I have a maltipoo that hates being groomed. Brushing his coat requires lot of patience thus I know just how difficult he must be to groom. He comes out looking perfect each and every time. I don’t know how they do it. They take the time to listen to how I want his hair cut and note it all down on his profile. Having this profile allows me to be able to say his usual when we visit. I would highly recommend this place.

Only thing is that they didn't tell me he would be scratching cause he got cut low and his skin was irritated But other then that it was ok.

I have a shih Tzu and she was not grommed to my satisfaction, this is the second time I have had her grommed by the groom room the first time was perfect!! 5 stars. I am very dissatisfied with the way she currently looks. To response to below she was not matted, have a few knots just like the first time.This time uneven and choppy. Also l did not have a appointment in December, if you couldn't groom her how we discussed you should have brought her back in the house! She was at the vet the second week in January and he said she was perfect!! You did not need to shave her, and scissor cut her she has long pieces and short pieces all over!!!

The Groom Room is the best pet groomers in Southern MD. They're super professional, skilled, kind, gentle and are extremely customer oriented. I won't trust my dog with anyone else.

I have three poodles that went in needing brushing and even had some matting. Three wonderful, talented groomers transformed my babies into beautiful, fragrant, and happy doggies! I have arthritis in my hands and am unable to brush them very much, but I sure love to pet them when they are so beautiful and soft.
