My family and I have used Countryside for all 5 of our huskies for over 10 years now and wouldn't take them anywhere else. Thanks to Julie at Countryside we were able to get both of my roommates dogs in for a visit on very short notice. This allowed us to move forward in our adoption process of their new brother most likely saving his life. We truly owe this place for all they have done for us.

I've had two dogs at this practice and they are super. When my dogs are sick they say bring them right in. They are great with the dogs, my beagle loves everyone there. My dog had tummy trouble and needed medicine and it was much less for the exam and medicine than I expected I can't recommend them enough

I have been looking for a permanent Dr for my lionhead albino bunny and I found two! Dr Heath Thumel is great he knows how important my son is to me and always stays in touch for updates every time Bilbo(bunny) visits the clinic. As well as Dr. Young when Dr. Thumel wasn’t available I was a little hesitant but did not regret it after speaking with Dr. Young! This clinic has all the qualities I added above including front desk and the vet assistants. I’m glad I found a vet clinic to take my son and feel that he is being taken care of.

Just wanted to post a thank you to everyone at the vet for the amazing care that my cats continued to receive during Covid! You are all amazing and implemented all the changes in a way that made me feel confident that my cats were in good hands even when I wasn't in the exam room with them. This vet clinic is amazing! The entire team is clearly dedicated to providing your pets with the absolute best care possible and letting you know that your pet is their priority. I always feel like they go out their way to make sure that you get all your questions answered and are not confused about anything. They are always very warm and caring with my cats. They are also surprisingly affordable, sometimes I think the bill is going to be crazy expensive because they are very thorough with their examinations but it hasn't been so far. I am so happy that I found them and know my cats will always be treated superbly! I highly recommend them!

Countryside vet is the only place I will go with our animals...I wish they took care of my kids too :) Dr. Heath Thumel is our favorite he is the most kind, patient, honest, and down to earth professional doctor we have worked with (and I have had dogs by my side for over 30 years!). While all of the providers at Countryside are wonderful, I do always request Dr. Heath Thumel. When our 12.5 yr old Ridgeback past away this past December, Dr. Thumel made a very sad and difficult process better. He not only cared for our pup as if she was his own, but he cared for my family as we struggled with decisions and what to do. When Dr. Thumel advises me or instructs me to do something, I trust him, no questions asked. He is the kind of doctor you wish you had for yourself!! Deciding to go to Countryside is the best decision you can make for you pet. We will never go anywhere else!

In the two years that we lived in the area, my senior dog Bowie received the best care. Personable and professional staff. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love Countryside. I will recommend them over and over again. Last year in June I had a pup that nearly died because 3 other vets didn't take me seriously about he couldn't eat. I made an appointment with Dr. Soverns and she was extremely understanding and determined to figure out what was wrong. It turned out to be Right Persistent Aortic Arch. Something that is relatively rare and she had never even dealt with. She contact the Dr who could do surgery and save my pup. Now a year later he is alive after a very long recovery and trial and error to gain weight. I could not have done it without her or the staff at Countryside. We went in for his yearly exam and she still remembered everything we did to save my best friend. I don't think I'll find another vet or vet staff that cares as much as they do here.

Very helpful and attentive staff! My wife and I went over the weekend for our first visit since moving back to Maryland. Even without being able to go inside, we felt that the communication was great throughout our visit. We had three separate calls during our appointment as they explained our options for flea/tick/heartworm chewables, went through an overview of our dog's current vitals/test results, and reviewed what the next steps were for our upcoming booster shot appointment. We didn't feel like we were being rushed through anything and felt like the staff took the time to explain everything thoroughly with plenty of recall/review from one call to the next. Top notch service!

We got our 'pandemic pup' last April and Countryside was recommended to us by several friends and neighbors. It has been a year and believe it or not we have not been inside the clinic as yet due to the social distancing precautions. We are very grateful for such care for not only our dog but for us humans as well. The process is very thorough as you check in through text, you hand over your pet to a loving technician who promptly calls you. Your pet is then examined and the Vet calls you to discuss the issues further. You then get a check out call to come pick up your baby and any items you've purchased. Even with this process in place, I feel as though it is very personal and the staff is so attentive. They have guided us through his preventative care, grooming and neutering procedure. I never feel rushed or pressured to buy anything. Whenever I have called to ask general questions, advice or medical inquiries we are received with detailed answers and solutions. We are so glad we chose Countryside for our dog. Thanks to the awesome team and staff!

The staff and doctors at Countryside provide exceptional care and compassion. My pandemic rescue dog has unfortunately had quite a few challenging medical issues which has lead to multiple visits. Dr. Julie Thumel typically treats our dog and she does an amazing job. However, we also had to see other doctors at the practice for urgent issues and they all have been equally amazing. Each doctor takes the time to actually listen to what you have to say about your pet's symptoms to better understand what's going on. They never make you feel like your questions are a burden. I hope I never have to move out of the area because I don't ever want to go to a different practice.

In response to Bev's ordeal with her poor cat being seriously harmed due to outright negligence, I can only say, I am so sorry you had to go through that and then the horrible treatment from Dr. Sovens on top of that. The reason the "Dr." …

Countryside is a great vet. They have amazing staff — everyone from the receptionists to the veterinarians. They take such good care of our two pups, always listening and being very thorough and gentle to make sure they’re in great health or to address any illnesses or injuries they have. They never recommend unnecessary procedures and medicine, and usually only do recommend something after exhausting all other options.

You guys were Amazing! My cat got out and evidently was in a fight with one of the strays in my neighborhood. He was limping and had fever (abscess on his rear leg). I couldn't have asked for a better team to help my cat.

The entire team at Countryside is second to none! We have two labs and both get excited to go to the vet :-) From the greeting at the door to the time taken by every vet there, not once have we felt that we weren't the only animal they were focused on. Recently our youngest lab has had digestion problems and we are looking for an appropriate food. Dr. Soverns took the time to call us and spent 20 minutes on the phone walking us through options, explaining the food and process and what to look for. Then, a week later, we received a personal card and coupons for the food as a follow-up. It is the personal touch, the individual care and knowing that when you are treating an animal you are really touching the entire family that makes the difference and makes them special. They will be our family's veterinary clinic forever and we cannot recommend anyone more. Thank you!

Absolutely love Countryside and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a new vet. Sadly, we recently lost our 12 year old boy, Rosco, but were pleased to receive a comforting call from Dr. Julie Thumel and a card from the team. We appreciated that so very much during this difficult time. Thank you to Dr. Thumel and the whole team for always providing excellent care to our beloved pets!

Took my 13 year old Cairn Terrier in. Normally he is very upbeat and outgoing. The last couple of days he was in pain around adnominal area. He could barely go to the bathroom. My wife and I felt he was suffering from liver failure. I'm not a vet but he matched all the symptoms online. We brought that to the vets attention several times and he told us that he was to young for liver failure. Our dog was 13 going on 14 in a month. They got him in right away but what followed was horrific. They ended up keeping him all day to run a bunch of tests and put him on an IV. They ran some x-rays and an ultra sound. They never called and asked. They just did it. Due to the circumstance, we would have agreed to them regardless. I was told to pick him up at 6:30pm to take him home. He still had a fever but he was okay to go home but we needed to bring him back in the morning. They made sure we paid for that days services even though they hadn't even figured out what was wrong or do anything to make him comfortable. They took $1,100 and carried him out. In the car my dog was very sleepy and would hardly move. When he got home he refused food and wouldn't get out of his bed. He was breathing hard and appeared to be in pain. We moved him to his favorite spot to calm him down. Within an hour gasping in pain and die in our arms. He died a very painful death. I feel they new he was dying and didn't want to feel like they where at fault. They collected their money (didn't figure anything out) and sent us away. If you have an older dog never send them here.

I had to board my 4 month old puppy for the first time. He spent a weekend with Countryside and when I went to pick him up, he was more interested in going back into the building and staying! I guess that's a great sign! Thanks for taking great care of my puppy Max. I'll be bringing Max for future boarding needs.

I just want to say how amazing this team is. I’ve been coming here personally with my rescue for almost 2 years, but for my parents pups for over 5 years. I also recently adopted a cat and they’ve been amazing with him too, they’re also certified in cat care. I can’t rave enough about this practice. Their staff is always friendly, their pricing is reasonable, they’re extremely intelligent, patient and knowledgeable about everything you want and need to know about caring for your pet. I love this team and I’m very thankful I have them close-by.

They are such a great vet practice. We've been using them for 20 years. I love how kind they are when we've experienced a pet loss. But they are really great at what they do--taking care of our furbabies. Our most recent experience is with our 10 year old cat, Nora. She needed dental work and she so obviously feels better- she's so happy now and we are very grateful. I can't say enough about them. Professional, caring, kind, and really great veterinary practice.

Great vet, as always, even in this time of virus-fear. Always pleased with how they take care of our dog (and us).
