Not great news today at the Vet but the Vet and the tech are incredible. They were very kind and compassionate. You need to wait in your car and No bathrooms, and no Wi-Fi but there is a Wawa .4 miles away!

Came to Delmarva ER with my 12 year old dog who had fallen and couldn’t walk. We ultimately had to put him down due to other complications. The hospital while compassionate and caring doesn’t seem to know what constitutes as an emergency. We sat there for 3 hours before we were seen. Dogs were being brought in jumping around and seemed perfectly fine and didn’t seem to be “emergency” cases. To have to sit there with my dog for 3 hours as he suffered and watch several vet techs walk by without even checking in to see what was wrong with him makes me wish we had gone somewhere else to get him relief. Don’t take your dog here if you have an actual emergency

My dog hurt his back and was in a great deal of pain at 10PM on a Sunday night. No other place was open except these guys. They took care of him and got him fixed up. Services are expensive but still reasonable.

Severely disappointed by my experience with this facility! Around 8PM we witnessed a dog almost get hit by a vehicle on a back road. After stopping to check on the dog, it was clear that she was VERY pregnant and in need of help. She had a collar, but no tags. We checked with several homeowners on the street where we found her, but no one recognized her. With 8-12 inches of snow predicted overnight, we couldn’t just leave her out in the elements. Since this is the only 24hr location around, we brought her here to have her checked out and to be cared for - at least overnight until animal rescue could be reached. When we arrived we were told in no uncertain terms that there was nothing they could do for her and that they would not take her since she was a “stray”. All the while, the poor baby was having contractions on my fiancée’s lap. They told us that if Animal Services couldn’t get her, we would either need to put her back out on the streets or take care of her ourselves (even though we assured them that we were not equipped to care for a pregnant dog going into labor)! Even though I protested and pleaded with the staff that this dog needed attention and care, they refused to so much as evaluate her. After asking if they would at least check to see if she was micro-chipped so that we could attempt to contact the owner, they begrudgingly agreed. Unfortunately, she was not micro-chipped. I understand that their policy is to only admit dogs that have a known owner (so that they can ensure payment). Still, it seems asinine to me that an “Emergency Care” clinic would deny an animal that was so clearly in need of emergency care! And, that they would’ve let her go back on the streets in a snow storm rather than provide any assistance at all. The staff that answered the phone and that came to the car to check for a micro-chip were rude and unprofessional. Thankfully, the story ends well in that we were finally able to reach an off-duty Animal Services Officer who drove from his home in Milton to come pick her up and take her to a shelter. Needless to say, I could NEVER recommend this place to anyone with an animal in need!

My 10 year old cat, Bam-Bam had stopped eating and I was concerned. Called my vet but due to Thanksgiving holiday they were closed but if emergency contact Delmarva Animal Emerceny Center in Dover, De. I did, explained what had been going on and didn"t want to wait 3 days until our regular vet opened on Monday. My husband and I took him over, the wait was long but they were very busy so understandable. Well worth it because they explained everything after they saw Bam-Bam and let us know the costs beforehand. We agreed to the treatment and I can tell you I am very pleased with how well my Bam-Bam is doing. He went from days of not eating to after being cared for at Delmarva Emergency Center , having a abcess lanced & drained in his mouth to being active and eating the next morning. I want thank the staff, the vet techs and vet for everything you all did for my boy whom I love very much.

As an animal Hospital, they got the job done. Two of our girls, had a bad fight. They have been separated ever since. We thought that the vet tech was a little rough when shaving our dogs. Had to be done, but .......* found out that the emergency clinic in Lewis , on Hw 1, was/ is far superior! Great folks!! Dr. Howard did an awesome job, after our dog accidently ate a 4" corn on the cob. Gastric surgery.

Decently priced, good service. Just be warned that right now its all wait in the car. So that can get old, especially with a 2 hour+ wait

We had brought mistiq in our 8 week old puppy in and when they told us the estimate, we informed them that we couldnt pay the $600 deposit right then at 3 am in the morning. So, they then told us they would send us home with medication for her to slow down the seizures but when they got out to the car to bring mistiq back they told the puppies ride to the emergency vet that they wouldnt give us any medication or her blood panels, and that shes gonna continue to have seizures all night long without the medication they had for her. Just completely dismissive and unprofessional after we told them that we could put down the $600 right away, said that since we wont pay the deposit shes not going to get any better. Couldnt get approved for enough on care credit earlier obviously they dont care about the animals they care about the money.

Unfortunately, I had to bring my 2 year old cat to the facility for a medical emergency on a Sunday. I knew going in to it that it would be a long wait. My cat began experiencing worsened symptoms in my vehicle and was taken back very promptly by a vet tech (the vet techs deserve more stars than this). After speaking with Dr. Brown, he ignored the initial reason why my cat was brought in a got tunnel vision on the incident in the parking lot. I spent 4.5 hours there and was told I was a “difficult client” because I told him he did not listen to what my cat was brought in for, nor did they test him for the issue either. The doctor yelled that he would give me the meds for the medical issue if “it will make you happy”. Needless to say, we left without treatment or any specific diagnosis. Thankfully, our normal vet was able to see him first thing Monday morning and he received proper treatment. I’m not sure if the issue I had was based on inexperience on behalf of a newer vet, but he was extremely unprofessional when talking. The saving grace for them is there wonderful office staff and vet tech.

The people were very kind and helpful in my stressful situation with my pet. When I called I was given instructions on how to make sure my pet was okay and how to tell if I should bring my pet in. Because I was overly concerned I brought my pet in to be examined, the staff was very kind and reassuring. Thankfully my pet was okay. I am very thankful for this Anima hospital for being able to help us a t such a late time of the day when my normal vet was closed.

Took our jack Russell there for an emergency they took X-rays, blood work & everything sent me home with him after saying they didn’t see anything wrong on the X-rays ….my baby spent the next five days in extreme pain. Took him to our home town vet …his back was broken and clearly showed it on the X-rays. We spent over $1000 here …do not recommend at all!!!

Took very very good care of our sick 16 year old cat. Incredibly helpful and courteous, took the time to explain allour options.

It got the job done, but I spent a ridiculous amount of money on a very simple and easy problem to solve. They charged me $76 for the action of giving my cat an injection. Its kind of ridiculous.

I just put my second animal down through Delmarva.. after reading other reviews and with my own experience this vet is only here to make money and euthanizing any animal needing more than a few stitches. Not only are they quick to recommend euthanasia but the older lady vet is VERY rude. After a vet tech told me I could hold my cat the vet comes in slapping the metal table saying put the cat on the table, no compassion and even argued with me and the vet tech until I put the cat on the table. The cat had a stint. I could of held him otherwise what's the stint for? other than she doesnt know how to find a vein. They also didn't shut the door after putting a dog to sleep, I was in my car when I saw this outside the building. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR PET

My boyfriend already submitted a review, but I wanted to come here and leave one as well. My parents and sister live in Delaware, so my boyfriend and I visit them frequently and bring our pups with us. At the end of May, we came up for a visit and our 14 year old Pomeranian, Snaggle, started acting lethargic and was vomiting very frequently. I called so many different places nearby, but no one around was able to see him. One place I called recommended Delmarva Animal Emergency Center, so we called them that evening and drove the hour or so there during a pretty awful storm. We truly thought these were going to be our last moments with Snaggle, and we were heartbroken. All of the staff we encountered at Delmarva Animal Emergency Center were kind and very knowledgeable. They let us know every step of the way what they were doing and how our boy was. He ended up being diagnosed with pretty severe pancreatitis. The Veterinarian we spoke with was absolutely wonderful. You could tell he truly cared about Snaggle and our situation, being that we were 2.5 hours from home. We ended up leaving Snaggle there overnight to get fluids, drove the hour back to my parents house, got a couple hours of sleep, then drove back to the emergency vet in the AM. When we finally got Snaggle back, we could tell he was already feeling so much better. My boyfriend and I were exhausted and were going to try and catch up on some sleep at my parents before heading home. The veterinarian asked us how far we had to travel, when we wanted to leave after getting some sleep at my parent’s, etc. He ended up telling us that it would be best for us to just get Snaggle to our veterinarian back home ASAP so he could continue to get the fluids he needed. Once the veterinarian told us that, we went directly back to Maryland. If it wasn’t for the wonderful staff at Delmarva, I don’t think Snaggle would be with us anymore. He is better than ever and we are truly grateful.

Being owned by two kitties can be tough. Having a place to go at 3am when something goes awry helps greatly in alleviating some the worry. They are caring, dedicated professionals and I for one am grateful they are nearby..

My dog had an emergency. Took her there they did an x-ray and lab work. I believe the vet just made a guess that she had pyometria. The x-ray recommended to follow up with an ultrasound but they didn't offer that. He said to have her spayed they could do it but didn't know when. Sent her home with antibiotics. Ended up taking her to Annapolis emergency vet.....she had eaten something that got stuck in her small intestines and needed to have it removed ended up with emergency surgery. I'm glad he didn't have time for my dogs emergency. I would have spent over 3000.00 to spay my dog and she still would have a life threatening bowl obstruction.

This is an amazing vet. I took my German Shepherd Wishes to the vet over the weekend. She was not eating or drinking and she was throwing up all day. They did an X ray and said they saw nothing and they gave her some meds. After 3 more days of her not eating or drinking I took her to this vet. They did another x ray and the results were taking so long that they sent us home and said they would call me with the results. They called me around 1230 am and told me she needed to have emergency surgery. I rush her into her regular vet and they were going to try to do her surgery but if they could not I could bring her back to them and they would do it at the same cost. My vet was able to do the surgery. She had to have 15 inches of her intestines removed because she had eaten a hand towel and it unraveled around her intestines. If I had waited any longer she would not have made it. Super satisfied with this vet

Even with unsettling covid restrictions the staff is very courteous and comforting. Still waiting for results. And it is unfortunate that I can not be closer to my fur baby.
