The worst experience in my life. Long hours waiting. Lazy & disrespectful workers. Thanks to Essex Animal hospital they saved my loving precious dog Rascal.

I advise no one to ever take their animals to this place. The worst service ever.. They made my friend wait in the parking lot for hours due to covid and then to top it off their dog did not get the proper attention & stiffed them with a huge bill for such poor service.

The staff at the urgent vet care in Cockeysville are the most compassionate, professional, and dedicated I have met over 14 yrs as a pet owner. This past spring we rushed my dog in who looked to be having a stroke. They took him immediately …

My dog was sick and our vet ended up being out sick with Covid and couldn't see my dog. I made my appointment with Urgent Care the same day, online, and upon arrival they told me it was curbside. I have a highly anxious dog who was very dehydrated and I was scared to drop her off because she was already stressed from her illness. They offered me a private room, with a big screen TV that I could stream on, and a nice comfy comforter on the floor for my dog to lay on. They also had a mini fridge w/ sodas and waters so I could get something while I waited. The receptionist and vet techs were incredibly friendly and caring with my dog. I wasn't able to go back with my dog while they did xrays and examination, however was very appreciative I wasn't stuck sitting out in my car and the dog inside alone the whole time. She was diagnosed and before treated the vet came in and explained everything, mapped out the costs and my options before proceeding. We decided on a plan, and I left with all the proper medicines she needed for at home care. I won't say what my bill was, as with urgent care, its not cheap---but it was about $300 LESS than I was expecting to pay. I wish I could use this vet all the time! The next day, I got a follow up call and then 2 Days later a get well card in the mail and each person who treated Kiwi had personally signed the card! TOP NOTCH!

They were so nice and took great care of my poor sick kitty. And for being an urgent care place, the price wasn't too bad! I really appreciated that they followed up with a handwritten note wishing my little girl well after her treatement. She is all better and back to running around the house :)

the urgent vet care at cockeysville is hands down the best vet service ever! my pup and i was visiting from out of town for the holidays and no one (including other surrounding urgent vets) was able to see her at such short notice. she had suffered from hind limb lameness during our time in maryland. the staff here took great care of her, called to follow up, and even sent her a get well card w/staff handwritten notes!! i appreciate the staff there and i highly recommend them for your pet needs. thanks again!!!

1/03/2022 Our little lamb is doing so much better. Thank you all again for your time, patience, and TLC. <3 12/30/2021 An extra big thank you to the tech who was willing to have us come back in when we could not figure out how to get the darn bandage off. I swear you are just beyond words wonderful! Thank you! 12/27/2021 Our dog managed to pull one of the toenails up off the quick of his foot. My husband and I were extremely upset and managed to get ourselves pretty worked up. When we arrived the staff were beyond wonderful. They were kind, patient, and could not have been more helpful and that was just with me. I was still distressed. When we got to the door I realized I had forgotten my mask. I tapped on the glass and the woman at the front desk said no worries we have a mask just for you. She politely (and patiently) explained due to COVID I would have to wait outside until we were called. All of which is completely understandable. The fact that she was so kind about how she asked it just made such a difference. Once we were checked in the staff took wonderful care of our pupper. They were kind and attentive to his needs. They spoke sweetly to him and gave him lots of positive reinforcement. We are so grateful they were here to help us in our time of need. Thank you Dr Heather for taking the time to explain his prognosis and care regimen going forward.

I was able to get a same day appointment. I found the staff very professional and knowledgeable. They took very good care of my dog. They were able to diagnose the problem and explained the treatment plan in plain English to me. I did not t have any bad experiences with this location in Hunt Valley. Thanks for taking good care of Missy.

For months we were in a battle to save a kittens life. When adopted (from a vet that is not our own) we were told she had upper respiratory viruses(types unknown) but was ready for adoption. This poor baby fought for breath from the day we took her home. The kitten was on three types of antibiotics for months and nothing touched the breathing issues. Following rabies vaccine (that was part of the adoption fee and I questioned whether she should have till other issues resolved) she became nauseated and lethargic beyond a few days. Her weight was dropping with her appetite. What little she did eat would come back up. The kitten slept or stared at the floor and frothed from the mouth. We took her back to the vet we adopted from and they put her on IV's with nausea medicine for two days, ran tests, and said they felt it was a virus and xray revealed gas in upper intestine. The kitten never had issues with bowel movements but they put her on a probiotic and antacid to coat her stomach. None of this made sense to me but we followed doctors instructions. The kitten continued to worsen and never had the diarrhea the doctor told us to expect. Our vet, (who was on maternity leave) and not the one we adopted from, recommended Urgent Vet Care. What a God send. We immediately felt that Dr. Kretchmer was invested as much as we were to get this kitten healthy. Our kitten had a dime sized polyp in her sinus that Dr. Kretchmer removed. Every health issue this kitten experienced was resolved the second the polyp was removed. Finally, our baby was free to be a kitten. There are no words to express how grateful we are to Dr. Kretchmer and Urgent Vet care. I share our experience not to discredit the adopting vet (after-all, they rescued our kitten with 53 others from a hoarder home and I know they are doing good for many) but to reveal how painfully stressful and costly this journey has been and in a matter of 30 minutes it was resolved under the care of Dr. Kretchmer. We may not be capable of articulating how grateful we are but we hope word-of-mouth is a start. Highly recommend Urgent Vet Care.

Thank you for being so kind. Being new to the area, not having a local vet we were comfortable with you made us feel like family. The facility is spotless. Everyone took time to explain the process and our Bailey was handled with kid gloves. Thank you thank you. You made a horrible situation much better.

I called 2 other vets, including my usual vet, but could not get in on a Saturday. My vet suggested Urgent VET Care. I was able to easily schedule an arrival time on the website, for later that day. I arrived and called to let the staff know, and was advised that the vet tech was triaging one other patient, and they would call me shortly. I was called back within 5-10 min, I gave an overview of my cat's problem and met the vet tech at the door, so that she could retrieve my cat. I was called about 30 min later with the results of the initial assessment and recommended diagnostics. Dr. Kretchmer was very kind and made me feel like she was doing everything in her ability to help my Buddy get better. Every encounter, whether by phone or in the office, was great-- very customer service oriented, which is so needed at such a stressful time. Thank you again, My Buddy is about 90% back to his normal self. I will definitely use UVC in the future. Also, I so appreciate your late hours!

I would not recommend this place for emergency services. They did not have echocardiogram or ultrasound services available after 4PM. In their defense, I was notified by phone that they did not have echocardiogram available until Monday. But an ultrasound and an echo are two different machines. They didn't tell me I'd have to wait for a basic ultrasound too. On top of that, I was still told I should bring my cat in for an exam and an echocardiogram isn't something they would recommend at that time anyway. I spent $95.00 on an exam that basically told me nothing. What's worse is I went there to get a second opinion. I came with Xrays, bloodwork, exam reports. They had information all the information needed. If your pet has mild issues like a stomach ache, then maybe I would recommend. But, for urgent emergency care, I think is way off course for what they are truly able to provide pets with serious conditions. The facility itself is very new and clean. I think they have decent customer service. The communication was transparent. However, that is not enough to compensate for what they had to offer which wasn't much for my pet. My pet is no longer on this earth so please do not contact me or reply with a response. I'm not interested.

This place was awesome!!! They took really great care of my cat. I was so worried about him! All of the staff were very friendly and made me feel confident he was going to be just fine. Although, I still had concerns a few days later (only because I missed him being his playing self and wanted him to get better faster) they were there and answered all of my phone calls and put my mind at ease. Today, Bully is back to himself and we’re back to our daily routine!!! Bully also received a thank you/get well card after his visit. This place deserves ALL of the stars!! THANK YOU!!!

I had a great experience bringing my cat to Urgent Vet Care. Making the arrival time appointment was simple, we only waited about 15 minutes in the parking lot before my cat was seen, and the procedure was quick and affordable. We were done in 2 hours and they were super warm and loving to my cat. I would highly recommend Urgent vet care to anyone!

Our experience at Urgent VET Care was great! They luckily had a couple of appointments left on a Saturday afternoon when our dog became sick. The receptionists were were kind and professional and were transparent about what the costs would be. When we arrived, we were seen almost immediately by the vet technician, who was extremely warm. Our dog, Lady, usually hates going to the vet and can be combative, but she seemed relaxed in their care and even allowed one of the vet techs to hold her. They had a little sound machine/fan for the exam rooms which I think really calmed Lady down while she was waiting. The vet was transparent about what she thought was causing Lady's symptoms but she empowered us to make the decision on further work up, and told us the costs of what that work up would be. The next day, they called to check up on Lady and were honest when I asked their opinion about coming back in (which we decided together was not the best option). They also don't charge you a second exam fee if it's within 24 hours/1 day of when your pet was seen last, which I think is great and encourages owners to seek additional care if a problem persists. They even sent a card in the mail wishing Lady a speedy recovery. Our experience really could not have been better!

Maybe the best experience I’ve had taking my dog any where so far. I just recently adopted my dog, Maple Syrup, and she had an ear infection, but my normal vet was all booked up for weeks so I decided to take her here and I’m really happy I did. The first day I tried to make an appointment I was waitlisted and they eventually called telling me I would have to try to make another arrival time the next day. Even with this inconvenience, the communication and service was outstanding. Ended up bringing her in the next day and they took very good care of my dog. She’s very nervous around new people, so they let me walk in with her and did not pull or drag her, which I hate. They called multiple times to keep me in the loop through out her visit and even called the next day to see how she was doing! This place is a 10/10 and I would recommend to anyone. (high key wish this was an actual vets office so I could bring my dog here)

After being turned away by two veterinary offices and two animal hospitals, they made time to fit my puppy in to be seen. I’m not sure if she’s gonna be ok yet, but they were willing to help when no one else would.

Why bother assigning arrival/ appointment times if they aren’t honored?

It is so nice to have a urgent vet care available in the area. My vet could not see us and I made an appointment on line. Process was quick and simple. My senior yorkie was diagnosed and vet called me keeping me up to date on his care. Very caring and would highly recommend for care of pets when regular vet is not available. Happy to say my yorkies are doing good and issues have been resolved. Thank you Urgent Vet Care staff.

My dog was very sick and her normal vet wasn't open on Sunday. A vet tech friend of mine recommended this place and I am so glad she did. They were able to see her same day.... yes the wait time is very long, but this should be expected with any place during this time. I am just so grateful they were able to accommodate her. Anytime they were doing something with her I was given a call and once the doctor saw her I was told the estimate of care before they performed anything. Thank you guys so much for taking care of my dog. Everyone here is so nice and caring from the woman at the front desk, to the vet tech and doctor I cannot say nicer things about this staff.
