We are very happy we switched to Lums Pond. All of the staff here are so nice, extremely helpful and sincerely care about our doggies. We have an older girl and a young pup and both are getting the best care here at Lums Pond. We will be forever grateful for the awesome care they receive and will be forever patients here at Lums!!

Best place ever. My old vet said they couldn't save my dog. Went to lums pond and as I speak it's getting surgery. Said my dog can live a normal life now. Go nowhere else but lums pond they are all the best

The staff and service receives a 10 out of 5 from me! My dog's own vet (not from Lums Pond) could not perform the surgery my dog needed and it was time sensitive. I called around and was given the run around, but the staff at Lums Pond listened and responded beautifully and in the most humane way. Dr. Thompson saw the situation and took immediate action. Additionally, the vet techs I encountered were soooo supportive and treated my dog, Khloe like their own. I couldn't have been happier and the more I tell people about Khloe's experience at Lums Pond, the more fans I find out they have!!

My dog yorkie was a patient of theirs for a year before one day, he was obviously not feeling well. They are 2 blocks from my house and so i called them to tell them he was clearly really sick and that i felt like we were in an emergency situation. They told me that they don’t “have appointments” and to take him to blue pearl or another hospital even though they ARE an animal hospital. Well my yorkie died by the time we got him to the hospital they made us go to which was 25 minutes away. Had they took him being how close they are to where i live, he probably would have been here today. When i shared my experience at work My co worker worker told me that she had a similar experience with them.

Very caring and professional staff! Both of my dogs love going to the vet, quite strange but it is the first vet they are never scared of. I guess the canned cheese is top quality...! Thanking all the staff members for their hard work!

This animal hospital is an A plus facility. We live in Media, PA but drive the 48 minute drive to DE so our 4 legged friends have the best vets in the area. Just last week after picking up our pup from a boarding kennel he began a honking cough. We called LUMS POND and they were able to give us the first appointment the next day.

I love bringing my babies here. They always take the best care of them. Gentle, loving, and kind. I can't thank them enough for all they have done for all my babies over the past 20+ years I have been coming.

Not only did they fit me in on very short notice, they were very informative and thorough with my puppy. Unfortunately she couldn't be helped and they were very warm and sympathetic. My puppy didn't come home with me but now I know that I have a good vet for my other pets ...I recommend them highly... It's not easy being new to the area and having to find services.

Compassionate and caring doctors, techs, and staff. The vet spends a lot of time with you and your pet, making sure all issues are properly addressed.

We have been a customer of Lums Pond ever since we adopted our dog back in 2012. We had pretty good luck with them. Easy appointments and decent doctors. That all changed today. I will NEVER bring another pet here nor will I recommend Lums Pond to anyone. The reason being, our dog was diagnosed with cancer a couple months ago and she took a turn for the worse over the past week. My wife brought her in to Lums Pond and Dr. Sharkey told her our dog would need to be put down due to the cancer growth. My wife and I talked about the options and we decided that we would put our dog down later in the week. So my wife called and talked to Sandy ( the receptionist )about what we would like to do with our dog. Sandy told my wife that she will confer with Dr. Sharkey and get back to her. Sandy called my wife back and told her we 'needed' to do it now, as in today! Then Sandy proceeded to tell my wife to pick a time. My wife then (over come with emotion) picked a time. After hanging up she called me and informed me about the situation. I told my wife "there is no way I'm letting someone tell me when to put down my dog." We both are/were not ready for it. All we wanted was a couple more days with our sweet girl and Lums Pond was basically telling us no, you need to do it now. I called up another vet and they graciously accommodated me with a weekend appointment and was appalled that a well known local vet/animal hospital would be so callous to grieving pet owners. Bottom line, Lums Pond needs to brush up on compassion and stop treating customers like we can't make up our minds when it comes to our fur baby's final days.

Their COVID precautions have been lessened and 1 person can now go in with a pet. Always great staff and service. Was there on Tuesday and it was awesome to see Kaitlyn and Dr Smegala again for my greyhound.

I have taken my dog here from 2011 until I moved away in 2015. I moved back to the MD area in 2017, I continued using Lums Pond because I was familiar with them. Some of the staff have become unprofessional, and it now seems as though this location now places more importance on getting money from owners over the care of the pets. My dog was scheduled for a wellness exam, and while checking in over the phone, the representative asked me if I had insurance. After telling her yes, she asked me what was the name of the insurance. I asked her why she was asking about insurance when I have always paid cash or credit card for these exams. The answer she gave me was that she don't know, they just need to know if I have insurance. The following day I decided that I was going to take my dog to a different vet. The appointment for the vet was June 14th. On May 12th I ordered Heartgard plus from Chewy.com. Because this is a prescription, I had Chewy contact Lums Pond. Because I had just notified Lums Pond that I would be going to a new vet, they would not allow Chewy to send the Heartgard plus. I called Lums Pond and informed them that they had 11 refills for this medication in the notes for my dog, but they still refused to allow me to purchase the Heartgard for my dog. I have brought my dog to Lums Pond since 2011, and every exam ends with me purchasing Heartgard plus from Lums Pond. Now, all of a sudden they will not approve Chewy to send this to me. I have to get an emergency appointment with the new vet and I know that this is because I removed my dog from the care of Lums Pond. When I was asked questions about the insurance, and not given an answer, it made me feel uncomfortable because I felt that I could have been given a false diagnosis after the exam so that my insurance could be charged. The person who asked about my insurance for my dog was also very rude and unprofessional. It is safe to say that I would not take my dog back to Lums Pond, nor would I recommend them to any family or friends.

I want to say THANK YOU to Dr. Danielle Downs for immediate response to our calls and helping my Tommy out. Also, I wanted to say THANK YOU to nurse Stephanie and Betsy for administering his Cerenia shot very quickly. There was no waiting time. It took them less than 30 seconds and I was in and out of the hospital in less than 5 minutes. Tommy has anxiety problem and Lums Pond staff understood that and they took care of my Tommy like their own family. Thank you to Lums Pond team!!!!

Love this vet. Staff is very good at customer service and treating your pets with love and care. We see Dr Smegala who is very thorough in her checkups and gentile and kind with our two cats . You can tell she loves the animals she treats. Prices are reasonable for services provided. Would recommend.

Staff is super friendly and informative about your pets health. During COVID the procedure for safe distancing works great and is easy to do here.

I travel a pretty long distance to go to Lums Pond. They are wonderful. I love the way they show love and attention to my baby. Dr. Colletti and Thompson are especially sensitive to both Ivonka's and my needs.

I no longer go to this vet, it takes a long time to get an appointment, their prices are high and my dog was attacked by another dog and they refused to take her when I called because they didn't have an opening. It was off putting to say the least. I drove down to the Middletown Vet and they took my dog immediately.

We love Lums Pond Animal Hospital. They are a little more expensive but they explain everything and always give options for what services we want and need. We don't even request a specific vet because every vet we've seen is spectacular. They always make me feel like we're their only patients and really take their time explaining everything and doing thorough exams. My older dog has had two surgical procedures here and they're so good at keeping me updated. I trust them implicitly. It's a bit of a drive for us but we wouldn't go anywhere else.
