Everyone at the VCA Beacon Hill Cat Hospital on Rt.1, Alexandria is very carrying, professional, reliable and kind. They ALWAYS take such great care of my kitty, Lulu, and I always know she is in great hands while she goes there. Thank you, everyone (doctors, nurses and technicians), for everything you do and for taking such good care of my baby! I strongly reccomend them!

Great business model. Took our cat in on a Sunday night for a stuck fishhook in his mouth. Was a very reasonable price and accommodated quickly. Would keep this business in mind for any urgent pet care needs.

Ever since I adopted my feline two years ago, I have always taken her here. The staff has been friendly, transparent and provide great customer service. I am impressed with how they operate with very strict COVID-19 prevention procedures but remain gentle with my cat. I have no complaints...a wonderful caring cat only vet practice that I highly recommend without hesitation.

Great front office staff, techs and doctors really care, tried several vets after moving to Woodbridge but ended up back with this group, as they always see us if one of our cats is sick. They care! VCA Beacon Hill gives my cats good individual care and no conveyer belt feeling here compared with other vets. Julia and Gwen are the sweetest. We feel cared for here and we deal with the drive as I don't want to go anywhere else and not get the same great care we get here!

This was Princess's first doctors visit here. The Veterinarian Jessica Lowe was very informative concerning my cats health. I wish I would have brought her here a long time ago! Due to COVID restrictions, we weren't allowed inside, however I felt like she was treated well. I look forward to her next check-up.

My experience here was nearly a year ago and it still gives me nightmares so I decided to leave some feedback in the hopes of helping another pet owner. I brought my 2 cats here for boarding. My cats had never been boarded before, so I called in every day to check in and was always told they were "doing great". I had also told the staff that I would be nearby if my cats didn't adjust well and I would come get them if they were having trouble. On the day I was supposed to pick them up, I called to see if one of my cats could get her rabies vaccine and an exam before I picked her up (my other cat did not need this). Suddenly, the staff had changed their tune and was now telling me my cats were responding horribly to the boarding and were showing extreme aggression, and that my cat would need to be sedated to be vaccinated. They also told me they had been housing my cats next to a very angry cat and that was causing extreme stress. I told them over and over that it was NOT characteristic of my cat to be aggressive at all (she never so much as hisses), and kept verifying that they were indeed referring to the correct cat. When asked why they didn't tell me about the issues adjusting before, they couldn't give me an answer. Apparently once they got my cat out of the cage she calmed down and stopped showing aggression, so they were able to give the exam without sedating her. When I came to pick up my cats later, however, I learned that they had mixed up my cats. They vaccinated (and nearly sedated) the WRONG CAT even after I had repeatedly asked on the phone if they had the correct cat and explained that the cat they should've vaccinated was NEVER aggressive. I even verified that the intake paperwork specified which cat was which (they don't look similar at all). The staff gave me a shallow apology for mixing up the cats, but never apologized for failing to inform me of their stress or deteriorating behavior throughout the time of their stay. Due to this horrible experience, I now refuse to board my cats and will never allow an exam to happen when I'm not in the room. Do not trust your cats with these folks.

They care about what they do and make you feel comforted when your cat is in their hands.

Our experience started off well as they gave us a coupon for free examination for our cats ($84 for 2 cats) for first time customers. Our cat has difficulty peeing and seems to be in pain. They did urine analysis + ultrasound and found he has struvite crystals in his bladder. They recommended a procedure which basically put him under with anesthesia and an extraction would be done using a catheter. All in all this procedure would have cost us close to $3,000. We were shocked at this price and the vet Dr. Suska said our cat might die if it gets worse and we don't do this procedure. We opted for some muscle relaxants and oral medication (something like valium) instead which still cost us about $250 with the free examination fee. The next day we called another vet that we used to go to a bit further away and they told us for the same procedure it would be around $550. We also called a few other vets in the area and it seemed they all shared the same business mindset, by refusing to give any kind of price ranges over the phone and insist you come in for an exam. I understand that you can't get an exact estimate over the phone, but it seems they do this on purpose because it earns them more money if you come in. I guess what I want to say with all this, is do not fall for modern day veterinary business practices which try to squeeze out every last cent of customers desperately trying to save their sick animals. It is very important when dealing with major procedures to get second, third or as many opinions as you can. During your visit a vet may make it seems as if you have to act now or your pet may die, which could be true at times but isn't always the case. She also mentioned our food is almost certainly the cause of our cats illness because it is too high in phosphorus and magnesium. Once we got home and did some research, it showed that this is an outdated study which has been found to be false and Crystals in the bladder are mostly caused by environmental stress in cats. Foods still play a role in this illness but I highly doubt feeding your cats wheat, potatoes, starches etc. is the way to go...then again this is a highly debatable subject. We took him to the vet that quoted us earlier and it turned out my cat doesn't even need the whole catheter procedure as his condition isn't as severe as Dr. Suska made it out to be. The vet managed to squeez some pee out of him, gave him a fluid shot and some oral medications to take home and the final bill ended up being about $200 with a big bag of cat food. Not only did we save over $2000, we also avoided a highly intrusive, unnecessary and extrenely overprised procedure.

I was very pleased with the care my cat received. Peyton the Vet Tech is awesome and the Doc expressed care and empathy and my cat seemed to like her more than me! Ha! I would definitely recommend taking your furbaby here.

All the folks here are very caring, especially when our 18 year old had to be put down. The next day we got a kitten from the shelter and took him to Dr. Suska.

We've used this VCA for twenty plus years but have just recently moved will probably never find a vet clinic as kind and caring as this one. Dr. Suska & Bazemore & the staff are the best and will treat your pets like their own.

Always take good care of my kitties and staff are very friendly and competent with humans, too. Definitely not the cheapest but also never been guilted into treatment I was skeptical of.
