Love the staff and Dr. Miller was so kind and gentle with my cat. I take all my cats to Dr. Miller and Dr. Owl and I am never dissatisfied with their care.

Sweet vet. She came down to my dogs level and didn't make her go on the table. Good prices, $100 cheaper than vet down the hwy.

Small town vet, so friendly and nice

Was in search for a vet. No longer liked the philosophy and lack of care our previous one in Woodbridge provided. I was exploring acupuncture to help my senior dog who has occasional knuckling due to early arthritis. Seeking a vet that you cannot see/meet in person during COVID is a daunting task. So glad we went. Pleasantly surprised that cold laser therapy, that is half the price of acupuncture mind you, was what was recommended as the more ideal approach. My pup had the pleasure to be seen by Dr M. Miller. She took so much time on the phone with me; asked what seemed like 50 questions to help her form the best picture and provide us with recommendations. I never felt pressured nor did it feel like I had a sales person on the other line. We will be back for sure. Check them out. I will definitely recommend. Let me start off by saying if I was rating just the staff I would give 5 stars. They were kind, helpful and patient. However, I was VERY displeased with my recent visit. I moved to the area recently and was hoping to find a great place to take my pets. I could tell the staff was very knowledgeable and that they cared about my pets’ well being. Or so I thought. I took my dogs in to get some shots that they were in need of and one dog hadn’t been feeling well. So one of my dogs got 2 out of 3 shots that he was due for, a nail trim and a physical exam and the other had bloodwork, a urinalysis, physical and nail trim. I also bought them heart worm preventative. I will admit there was a lot of things they had done and I was prepared for my idea of expensive. I was prepared to pay somewhere in the $350 range with all of the blood work they had done. Unfortunately, I was more than double off of my estimate. I was charge $740 for a 30 minute visit. I understand that times are hard right now and bills need to be paid but at the same time they aren’t the only ones with bills. Again. I understand some of the things that were done were expensive and that’s fine. But when it cost $60 to have their nails trimmed that insane. $75 each for a physical that takes what? All of $5 minutes? Plus the price of each individual thing. It’s just crazy. Before we moved our cat was hospitalized, staying at our previous vet clinic for 4 days, receiving fluids and medication through an IV and that bill was HALF of what we paid for a 30 minute visit. I NEVER complain or leave reviews but as a military family, we don’t make a lot of money and with this being close to the base, I felt the need to leave this review so that other military families can avoid spending a good chunk of their pay on a non emergency vet visit. Again, if I had to rate the staff I would give 5 stars but the outrageous bill trumped the kindness by far.

Quick, efficient, thorough, and caring. They were able to fit me in for an appointment the same day I called with my dogs stomach issues. Friendly staff and even friendlier vet. Very professional and really care about your baby. Highly recommend!

While I now live in Northern NY, Dr. Owel, was our doctor for 14 years, taking care of my10 kitties and one dog. She is amazing! Her knowledge and skills are exceptional. Her kindness and compassion for our beloved pets always conveyed to the "parents" as well. I will always remember her and the hospital staff for their love of animals, professionalism and willingness to get it done. Thank you, Dr. Jane!!

With one recent minor exception, in which the Dr didn't see an item listed that cost me some time/taxi money, MT Vernon Animal Hospital has always done a Gold Medal job! I recommend them to everyone. :)

Nice doctors very reasonable prices.

Dr Owel is always very sweet and helpful for my babies. Willow and Walker are very sensitive and dramatic but the staff is very kind and patient. I trust and really appreciate having this practice so close to home.

Dr. Owel is top notch. Very experienced. Truly caring of her patients. Takes a holistic and common sense approach to wellness and treatment of conditions. She has been treating my two cats for a couple years. I was referred by a friend and so grateful for the recommend. I was looking for a vet who could work with me and my aging cats as it does get complicated the older they get. One had a kidney issue. I couldnt have gotten thru it without her. The practice itself is not fancy, but please dont let it throw you. The staff is wonderful, too.

It’s perfectly small and hidden. I feel like they care about our dogs when we board them. I would recommend them.

They are extremely friendly, but my kitten was seen there just 3 days ago. The day after taking her to Mt Vernon Animal Hospital, and learning from the Vet that she was supposedly perfectly okay. The next day, we had to rush our kitten to the emergency vet at Springfield where we learned that she had pneumonia and intestinal problems that led to her having to be hospitalized for 2 days including lots of medications and fluids.

We use MVAH for our foster-cat's and foster-dog's preventive care and treatment of the rare illness. More than that, we occasionally board both animals there when traveling and unable to get sitters. For both purposes, MVAH is very capable and dependable. We recommend MVAH.

Both Dr. Owel and Dr. Miller are wonderful! They are both knowledgeable in traditional veterinary medicine as well as in holistic, and Chinese herbal medicine, . I personally try to study all these areas in terms of human medical care, so I really appreciate that they are applying these principles to my little Maxie. He is getting on the older side of life, with respiratory and possibly cardiac and kidney symptoms. They are being careful to use gentle treatments & take one step at a time and to not apply physical challenges that he could not withstand. BTW, the odor some people have mentioned in the office is an anti-bacterial disinfectant. I am personally thankful they take this extra precaution!

Dr Owell and Dr Miller have been my mother in laws family Vet for over 20 years. I was so impressed with the care of her cats, I started taking our cats and dog in as well. They are compassionate and caring, with great front office staff, and always willing to work for the best solution to your pets situations.

This location was home to some very friendly, animal-loving employees! They took great care of myself and my dog. The building was nice and clean and there was space on both sides of the desk for animals who are skittish like my dog to get away from other hospital visitors. The veterinarian on hand that day was very efficient and informative. Being a new dog owner, she educated me on many different things I never really considered but I am now aware of. I hope I only have to visit this place sparingly, but I know if I do have a pet emergency, my dog will be in great, caring hands.

This is the worst place I’ve ever been too. Worse customer service. I took My puppy to get checked up and I gladly Trusted them to check on him just to see that they did a terrible job. The “doctor” only touched him and looked at him and that was it they charged me about 100$ for nothing only to touch him that “ examination was nothing and I paid For nothing. I was Not satisfied this is the worst place I’ve ever been too. I Was only going to pay for the shot my puppy got and they manipulated me to pay. So I did Cause I wont Get a charge. But like I said Think twice before coming to this place it’s awful and the worst vet ever. This visit was an emergency visit and they gave me the worst customer service for me and my puppy.

Great hospital with high quality staff. I like alternating between the vets to give my dog a 2nd opinion. Both Dr's are great.

Great annual check up of my German Shepherd. The facility is a little dated, but the Vet and staff were fantastic.
