My terrier mix had surgery and Dr. Bauer was great about updating me pre and post-surgery. In addition, she followed up the next day to check on how my dog was doing. It's nice to work with a local vet instead of one operated by a corporation with multiple locations.

I have been a client at Hollin Hall Animal Hospital for nearly 20 years. I wouldn't trust the health and well-being of my dogs to anyone else. The Vets are excellent and the Vet Techs are the most caring staff. I highly recommend their practice!

Dr. Bauer is the absolute best! We noticed that our Maltipoo had been losing weight back in September/October. I took her to my previous vet who only does drop off appointments due to Covid. They informed me it was due to my dog's teeth being slightly loose. We scheduled a teeth cleaning the following week. They called me and informed me they could not perform the procedure because they checked her heart and she had a class 3 heart murmur. I was confused why they didn't listen to her heart when I first brought her in, but shook it off and scheduled and echocardiogram. This took two more weeks of waiting due to be located 1.5 hours outside of DC and no specialists nearby. In the meantime my pup was continuing the lose weight. She began throwing up bile about twice a day and had no appetite The previous vet had given me an appetite stimulant to try to get her to eat After the echocardiogram, they informed me that her heart wasn't as bad as they had originally thought and she did not require medication. I was confused as to why she was still losing weight and not eating, in which they said it was probably the heart murmur and possibly her teeth. They wanted to schedule another cleaning appointment but I knew my pup was too weak for anesthesia even if they didn't seem to understand. By this time my once vibrant little girl had gone from 9.5 lbs to 7lbs. At this point I was fed up. My brother who live ain the city recommended Hollin Hall Animal Hospital and Dr. Bauer. I called to make an appointment, which they had none available for 1-2 weeks. I broke down and told them what I was going through. The receptionist was very understanding and was able to get me in much sooner. I am about 2 hours from Hollin Hall but it was worth the drive! Dr. Bauer immediately suspected cancer. We ran blood tests and she recommended another vet to complete an ultrasound. She was very attentive and called me often for updates. At the ultrasound we found a tumor attached to my pups pancreas. Dr. Bauer gave me honest advice and was clear she would support the choice I made whether it.be surgery or letting my little one go in peace. I cannot sing their praises enough. I feel like both my pup and I are part of their family. I highly recommend.

Twice now the hospital has accommodated my pet for urgent care. I love how I don't get rushed out and am explained everything that is going on. I never feel like a nuisance when I ask for clarifications. They have a very sweet crew and great doctors who know that as pet owners we want to know as much as we can comprehend about our pets :)

We've been taking our French bulldog here since he was born. All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. He's seen 3 different veterinarians (but 1 primarily, Dr. Fanton) and they have all been excellent at each visit.

They are only after your money. They couldn’t care less about your animal, they throw a bunch of pricey procedures and meds at you and use your emotions for your animal against you.

I like the staff here but they would greatly benefit from having dedicated receptionists so that people aren't doing two jobs at once and rushing through phone calls.

The veterinarians and staff are great. Always willing to answer questions and patient with difficult pets. When my dog ate something she shouldn't and needed emergency care, HH was willing to see her rather than immediately sending me to an ER vet. I really appreciate them making the time to see her, especially when they seem busy all the time! HOWEVER, they lose a star for not having a dedicated receptionist. Every time I call or go in, I'm immediately put on hold or have to wait while one harried staff member rushes around trying to help 5 other people. I don't mind waiting, but I feel bad for your staff. So hire a receptionist! Trust me, your clients and your staff will thank you.

The staff here was very friendly and helpful from the moment I called. When I arrived for my appointment, the doctor came out to speak with me about my dogs issues which I really appreciated. He came out again after the visit to thoroughly explain everything to me, answer my questions and make sure I felt comfortable with the care my dog received. All this was a wonderful change from my previous vet, and both my dogs will now be patients here.

Absolutely amazing! They are so kind and treat our dog better than I get treated by health care providers. They go out of their way to accommodate us and are very thorough. On two occasions they have stayed after closing to see our dog when she needed veterinary care and ensured her safety. I can’t say enough good things about them.

DONOT USE THIS VET. I am so upset to have to write this. We had good service from this vet for the last year or so (with our dog ad cats) and have had honest dealings until today. I called to get a new kitten neutered and was given a price over the phone. I took the kitten in and the price was double upon picking him up and since I didn't get the original estimate in writing I am out of luck. I did call other vets in the area for estimates to make sure I was being charged correctly and all were within $50 of the original estimate I was given. To top it off the staff and vet were very passive aggressive with me and my daughter when questioned about the bill and the massive bruising on our pet. They will provide many excuses and lies for their behavior but beware and do not trust anything that isn't written down. And be prepared for insults and passive aggressive behavior if you question them at all. So Disappointing.

I love this vet! The staff is so wonderful! We had to take our sweet baby girl in for an emergency and they took care of her right away and with compassion. Our baby is doing so well thanks to Hollin Hall Animal Hospital. ❤❤❤

One of the top 10% vets we've used throughout our dog's lives. We've lived all across the United States and Europe and utilized many different vets during those years. We found Hollin Hall Animal Hospital after a really long lasting, negative experience with the VCA Hospital system here in the DMV Area (specifically Old Town location). The rebound with Hollin was strong and positive. Front office staff, to vet techs, to doctors, are all very positive, caring, and professional during our interactions. Work with them in confidence.

Staff is very friendly and the kitten doesn't seem to mind going here at all. Due to COVID we haven't been able to meet the vet in person but Dr. Krasner seems very professional and attentive to concerns. Wish we would have found you sooner!

The staff truly have a loving passion for animals and they treat them with great care. Awesome hours. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Our regular vet was closed and our miniature schnauzer went into medical distress. Hollin Hall Animal Hospital fit us in immediately, assessed the situation and with great compassion helped us say goodbye to our beautiful little girl. We will be forever grateful.

Dr. Amy Crasner was awesome! She scheduled my dog for an appointment, she was very thorough and transparent about costs, and my dog had a great vet experience because of her and her great veterinary assistants. Facility was calm and clean, highly recommend.

We have been using Hollin Hall for almost 15 years and couldn’t imagine going somewhere else. The entire staff is helpful, empathetic, professional. I also recommend Dr Gill and her staff to anyone who is in need of a vet.

Dr Welebir is the best. She loved Tucker.

It’s been a long time since I found a vets office I really loved (and we have 4 dogs and two cats so I’ve been to a few :) One of my girls had some tummy issues and they squeezed her in same day with no waiting. Dr. Welebir and all the assistants and front desk folks were super sweet to our fur kids and gave me all couple options for our sick pups treatment. I’d brought one of our other dogs along for moral support, and since I expressed concern about a spot on his side - Dr. Welebir offered to do an exam on him as well! I really like that they do the exam part in the room with you so you can answer questions and be there for your kids. Josie is feeling better already and we look forward to bringing out other two kids back for a new patient appointment.
