From Head to Tail Spa Alexandria, Maryland

After a visit to Head to Tail, my dog didn't smell! It was great.

I went for the first time to have both my cat and dog groomed the same day. My cat is a long hair mix and my dog is a Newfoundland. My cat has been groomed before (he is 9) but this was the first time for my dog to be professionally groomed. My dog is 1 and we had done at home treatments but never on a professional level. First off, when I reached out they were so responsive and even guided me to have my cat come in early so it would be quiet for his grooming. Second, during both the groomings they kept in touch if there were any changes/recommendations( the length for my cat and the de-matting to my dogs front legs) They both look awesome! And the best part is you can tell they feel good! I cannot recommend this place enough! Really great environment for both cats and dogs. Staff was very kind and knowledgeable!

I brought my 9 month old Miniature Schnauzer to get a grooming. We typically travel from DC to arundel County MD for a reliable Schnauzer cut. 1 day I saw a gentleman with his Schnauzer and I shed where did he go and get is puppy groomed because the work was awesome. He said he'd to tails. The rest is History lol! Vee groomed my furbaby and she was excellent perfect trimmings nd she was very friendly at Hello! I felt Totally comfortable leaving my lil man there. I say all this to say that we found our forever groomer. This would be a 5 if his ears had been stripped. I don't know if I needed to suggest that or not but I will be bck.

My sweet Maltese, Wilkes, gets excited when he sees the door! He comes home looking gorgeous and smelling like an Angel! Rachel is the best groomer! This week he left the spa sporting a bow tie. All he needed was a prom date.

Extremely nice boutique dog grooming salon. Outside of being extremely busy and long wait times for an initial visit, I would use again.

Hit or miss service. Have had poor interactions with Jodi Goldberg (owner) but Rachel (groomer) has done fantastic work with our dog. My fiancé was treated very rudely by the owner when he came to check on our pup (there was a misunderstanding about the posted closing time on google and when they actually close - he was afraid we had missed the call to pick him up but they were simply running late that day). He posted a review on Jodi’s behavior. She contacted us later refusing to groom our pup unless we changed our review on her conduct. Sad to no longer have our pup groomed by Rachel, but cannot support a business where threats are used to get better reviews instead of respect and kindness.

We love Angie! Lola is so excited to see her every time she visits, and she does a wonderful job with her doodle coat! Jodi (owner) is so responsive and flexible. Even though we have moved away from the area, we make the 30 min drive every 2.5 months!

Unprofessional - would not recommend to my mortal enemy!

In from out of town, this place took us in same day for grooming. Quick, courteous & kind staff. Heather did a great job, thanks guys!

I heard about this place from other dog owners in the building. They liked the service and the price. I liked the customer service and his look after the wash and nail clip. I could tell he had a good time as he walked around like he owned the place. Excellent first time experience. Thanks to all and what a busy place.

While a bit chaotic with dogs barking and close to 10 grooming stations visible right when you walk in, the Head to Tails team was really reassuring and patient for our Aussie's first grooming experience. They even gave us a number to text a picture to of the exact cut we wanted. They said our pup did a great job with his first time with a dryer and getting his nails trimmed and ga e him a cute bandana to go. Overall a good experience

They did a great job with my senior dog who has sensitive allergy skin, I didn't see any irritation on her. She usually smells foul a couple days after her baths, but it's been almost a week and she still smells faintly of berries which is delightful. Price is a little higher than I'm used to, but probably average for this area. It's nice to know there's a place close by that I can trust with my old lady.

It took 2 tries, but in the end he came out alright. For $140, I didn't feel like it was worth it, so won't be returning. However, good customer service on addressing issues and dissatisfaction. The first 10 or so pics are our first visit, the rest are after our return and he corrections were made. Thank you to the owner and the lady at the front desk.

The person answering the phones was almost as rude as the person working the front desk. In fact, I think she does both. By the way, they don’t close at 5:00, they “close when we’re done or feel like it”.

Very Satisfied, and my Yorkie is so cute now and we will be returning.

I have a very finicky high energy puppy and she loves coming here! I love that they let her run around with the other dogs after she’s done, so she always comes home tired. Angie does a phenomenal job walking me through what she recommends and how to make sure her hair is blended when she gets matted. I don’t know what magic they work when she is in there, but I’m always pleased with the result (plus the smell of their shampoo is amazing)! Highly recommend!

Head to Tail Grooming Spa is, quite simply, the only place you should be taking your pet. They are phenomenal! In the past, we have really struggled with finding a groomer. My dog Axel was not fond of the process, nor was I. However, that all changed when we found Head to Tail Grooming Spa. Now, he loves going to the groomers and always comes home looking amazing, healthy, and happy. The level of love and care they show every animal that walks through their door, not to mention the professionalism and kindness they display towards the customers, is extraordinary. We started going to them during the heart of the pandemic and they were nothing but accommodating and helpful. If, like me, your pet is part of your family, then you need to be using From Head to Tail.

Update: I received a call from the owner this morning. She apologized for the way it was handled--I appreciate this response after the whole process. Original Post: I have taken my cat to this groomer on two occasions. The first time, I was happy with the cut, accommodations, and the process overall. The second and last time, I had a very different experience. About a week after my cat's grooming appointment, I noticed several cuts on her stomach, on and around the nipples--and she was visibly uncomfortable. My cat is an indoor cat, and we live in an apartment, so I know this happened at the groomer. I called Head to Tail Spa to let them know and followed up with some photos. I heard back from someone several days later, updating me that the groomer didn't think the cuts were from him. There was no apology.

I bring my long-haired mini dachshund, Dunkin here for a bath and a trim and he always comes back smelling so amazing and looks so handsome! The staff definitely cares a lot about the animals and I feel safe dropping my pup off with them, as opposed to other places that leave your dog in a cage most of the time.

I took my dog there to be hand stripped and he came back with a lot of bald spots. The groomer said his coat was blown, however it wasn't that blown and we've never had that experience at another groomer. Obviously, it's just fur so no long term damage, but it was more annoying that the groomer didn't highlight that when he was picked up and we had to call back to find out what happened. The rest of the groom was good- his ears were well trimmed as were his nails and he smelled great. We will probably give them another try because it's a much cleaner facility than the other groomers in the area that do hand stripping.

I DRIVE 45 MINTUES JUST TO COME HERE. MY DOG BROOKLYN GETS THE BEST SPA AND GROOMING SERVICE HERE. Believe me when I tell you I've tried many groomers closer to where I live and I keep coming back here b/c no where else has the level of quality service and groomers around. My Brooklyn always comes out groomed exactly the way I love it every time.

This is the best grooming salon in the DMV area! We’ve taken our Golden Retriever here since he was a puppy. Katie is phenomenal - professional, kind, and thorough. She takes the time to listen to what you envision and our pup, Berkley, just loves her. Cannot recommend From Head to Tail Spa enough - they care about your pet and your four legged friend will come back smelling and looking amazing!

Gnocchi had a FABULOUS time and looked fab herself afterwards! She even got a cute and festive bandana for St Paddy's day. We can't wait until our next grooming here!

Cat need a haircut? Just a trim, or a complete restyling? How about a spa treatment? Well, this is the place, and Isaac-the-cat-specialist is the guy. We've been taking our long-long-long hair Ragdoll there -- and will continue to! Couldn't be more pleased, both with Isaac, and Judi's overall operation. Her COVID-19 mitigation procedures are serious and effective. Scheduling is a breeze. HIGHLY recommended.

They did a pretty good job but when I went to pick up my pup and asked how he did, everyone said they didn't know. Also the lady at the front desk was very inattentive. But my pup looked good.

5 star quality and service! Jodi gets it! I had a little misunderstanding about pricing and as a new doodle owner there is a lot to know! Jodi explained and educated me on everything! I have read reviews and comments on so many grooming and spas in the area and this place truly walks the walk!

They do such a thorough and terrific job! He always comes out looking like a gentleman after his haircut. My dog is very nervous but the friendly staff here is so patient with him always!
