My dog was attacked by other dogs in her facility and she said I signed a waiver stated they will not pay for vet fees. It is sad for people to spend allot of money to this establishment and not watch if your dogs are fighting with other dogs. We had to pay extra money for my dog to come and find out how if she was aggressive. So how did they miss out and a dog that bit my dog?? The owner didn’t care what happened to my dog. Never again will my dog step in a establishment with 25 dogs running around loose with only two people watching over all the dogs.

I have had a wonderful time here with my dog! He loved the employees and his fur friends. He was always so happy when he saw where we were, and if there is ever a concern with your pup, they will contact you and let you know!

Amazing staff. Super friendly and very accommodating. We were very concerned with how our dogs would do being boarded and they helped set our minds at ease. Dogs were super happy and tired when picked up. Looking forward to bringing them again.

We have been using A Dog's Tale for daycare for a few years and they are so good to our pups, who always come home POOPED. Amy (the owner) is also involved with at least 2 foster organizations I am familiar with & is beyond generous with her time and commitment to dogs in need.

Our girl Willow loves spending time here. Amy is wonderful and takes good care of our special girl. Whenever I tell Willow she has to go to daycare, she gets excited. Whenever I pick her up, she is exhausted!!

From the vile lack of sanitation standards in this facility to the sheer lack of professionalism in the owner herself, A Dog's Tale should not be allowed to claim themselves as a dog "care" facility. The absolute nonexistence of sanitation standards, individualization of care, and professionalism is honestly detrimental to the health and happiness of the clients' pets. When you walk into the building, you are immediately slapped in the face with the smell of sour sewage, and it doesn't come from the dogs. While it may seem at first like this is normal of a dog facility, it runs much deeper than that- the SEPTIC TANK on site is BROKEN and grey water constantly backs up through the drains in the building. The grooming room can often be found flooded with dark water that is not properly draining into the leech field (which, surprise surprise, is also the yard that the dogs use to go to the bathroom). This contributes to the utter lack of cleanliness and sanitation that should be expected of a facility that handles a high capacity of dogs. The industrial, warehouse-like play room is constantly moist and infested with stagnant pools of water and urine. The floor remains damp at all times from dogs tracking in their business and condensation from the space, and because the mop water is not changed regularly, the floor becomes a cesspool of foul smells and substances, which bottom line is not safe for a large capacity of people's beloved animals. The lack of cleanliness standards and care for the health and comfort of these beings is laughable and pathetic, and the neglect for sanitation is serious. This scummy concrete warehouse with no separation of dogs whatsoever is not a dog-friendly atmosphere, it's a money-making machine. If they truly cared for the health, well-being, and benefit of these animals they would provide them with a clean and safe facility to play and rest in, but instead the accommodations for these animals are utterly filthy and dangerous. There is no individualization of care at A Dog's Tale, which means that shyer or smaller dogs can be left out or picked on very easily. Because dogs of all temperaments and sizes are forced together into the same space, it is extremely easy for dogs to be excluded. When dogs do not wish to play, or if they are picked on, they are left to try to find quiet isolated space in the one and only, industrial, and dirty room that is offered to them. There is no solace for a dog here if they do not fit in, they are perpetually forced into uncomfortable circumstances and deprived of any individual care or attention. Even if a dog wishes to sleep, they are forced into a wire crate lining the walls of the playroom. The mass "care" of these dogs is ultimately detrimental to their ability to be happy in the ever-stressful atmosphere at A Dog's Tale. The puppeteer behind A Dog's Tale makes all clear and evident as to why the conditions of this facility have been able to slip as low as they are. Her lack of professionalism is completely off the charts. One would think that living on-site at your own "business" would incline you to upkeep the property and the ethical standards of your space, but there is absolutely no way you would know that by looking at this sad excuse for a care facility. Bring your pets somewhere that knows what animal welfare means. Bring your pets somewhere where the care for your beloved animals is EVIDENT through everything that the staff does and offers. Don't get reeled in by this money-making cesspool of animal neglect and arrogance. I was a hard working employee here for months before leaving because of the vile animal abuse. This owner's lies are precisely why I left the job. Covering up breaches in ethics are her personal talent.

Absolutely horrible experience with having our dogs groomed here! Will never return to this place!! We took our 2 dogs - a pomeranian and a jack russell mix - for grooming. The pomeranian has a specific cut that we have done. My husband explained what we wanted, with the instructions from our previous groomer in another state. He showed several pictures of what the finished cut should look like. It's a lion cut with a short mane and just a trim on the tail. The groomer shaved my entire pom! No lion cut, no mane, and they trimmed his tail down to a little ball of fluff. The groomer absolutely ruined our pom's cut! Our jack russell was done just fine, probably because she didn't have a haircut. But the package we paid for was supposed to include trimming the hair between the pads of her paws and that wasn't done at all. Would not recommend if you have specific instructions for what you expect of your groom!

Our dogs are treated well and enjoy playing with all of the other dogs there. Amy does a great job and loves animals. You can tell that they are treated very well.

Best doggy daycare and boarding facility in the Southern Maine area if you ask me! Having been a previous employee here for the last 2 years, I can reassure you that your fur babies are treated with the best quality care we can give them! Not only do we have 3 giant yards outside and 2 playrooms inside, but your dogs are allowed to play and run like the wind in these areas at all time, if the weather allows, of course. Looking for a cheap, clean and amazing place for your dog to come play and spend the night? A Dog's Tale is the place to take them!

A dogs tale is the best day care and overnight facility. Not only is she super tired at the end of the day, she is happy to be dropped off during the day. Also, of the four other facilities we have taken our pup to, a Dogs Tale is the only one that provided us cute pictures to take home. I would definitely recommend to others.

These guys are great. They are friendly, support local shelters and rescues, and our boys love going there! Our "young guy" is 10 and has to take some important meds when he boards, they make sure he gets just what he needs. Our "old man" is 15 and he gets tired trying to keep up with the younger dogs sometimes. They give him the attention and make sure he gets an extra rest or two when needed <3 reasonably priced and great care!

My puppy and I love this place. He comes home tired from playing all day. He looks forward to going to A Dogs Tale to play with his friends. Amy and her staff are so excited to see the dogs in the morning and greets them by name.

Our dog is 12 and has been going here for daycare (3-4 days a week) and boarding since she was 7 months old. It is her home away from home. She loves being there and we have total peace of mind that she is being well cared for during daycare and when we are out of town on vacations. The owner Amy does so much for animals in general, raising money for the SPCA. Her love of dogs really shows in her approach and in the staff she hires and trains. I’ve recommenced a Dog’s Tale to several friends and they’ve all had the same experience. Great place.

Amy is amazing, generous, and LOVES her clients. She is an avid supporter of rescues. She let our foster dog come daily, no charge. When we adopted a dog she welcomed her and Cadi couldn’t be happier. When we pull into the parking lot she goes wild. It truly is her favorite place. We have done a handful of overnights as well. Cadi comes back happy, tired, and clearly well loved. You can’t ask for a better place to leave your pups.
