Canal Street Veterinary Hospital New Orleans, Louisiana

I really got lucky living right down the street from this place. I have since moved, but continue to go to Canal Street Vet due to their kindness, expertise, and professionalism. When my stray cat passed right before his scheduled neuter procedure, I was sobbing on the phone crying and the entire staff could not have been sweeter. They even sent me a card in the mail sending condolences. I have since adopted two new sweeties and bring them to Canal Street for their checkups/spay procedure. I have seen both vets and I love that they actually take the time to thoroughly explain important details about pet ownership, food, preventive meds, my babies' well-being, things to look out for, etc...They are so good about keeping in touch and I have recommended them to friends before and will continue to recommend their services to anyone looking for a high quality vet. We first went here during the pandemic.....our experience wasnt great....it was actually pretty bad....we decided to give them another chance today and I'm so glad we did.Im not sure if the staff changed or what happened....i know the pandemic was rough for everyone... we felt welcome and I felt I could trust these women with my babies.My chihuahua is a bipolar mess and you never know how it will go with him....He didnt come out shaking at all.He is a happy boy.Thank you guys for a great experience....we appreciate what you have done for our babies and the patience you all had.We will come again!

I can't say enough good things about Canal Street Vet. Dr. Stefanie, Dr. Jenny and the whole team truly love animals. All my babies are safe there and well taken care of. My husband and I have a soft spot for stray cats, we have found all of our babies. Their team treats all of our inside and outside kitties with love. They have held my hand and cried with me when hard decisions needed to made and have made heroic attempts to heal and save every cat we bring in. I never worry when they are there. I can't recommend them enough. They are the best!

Been bringing my swamp kitty there for the last 3 years. They make us feel like family. Obviously my cat never likes going there but they make him feel like a rock star while hes there. Needless to say the staff is amazing all around!

The staff was amazing with Londin. They got her in that day when she started limping, and quickly got her feeling better. I've gone to one other vet since moving here (on st. Charles) complete trash. People here are amazing!!!

I tried giving this place a shot but both times I went, I waited for over 30 minutes past my appointment time. The prices were too high and the vet that I saw seemed to be extremely judgmental of decisions I was planning pertaining to dog training. She also said that multiple dogs are prescribed prozac under her care. That seems strange to me. I don't recommend taking your animals here unless you like to waste time and money for uncertain treatment plans.

Wonderful people and awesome service but a bit to expensive for me

I brought a kitten there today that had been unfortunately hit by a car. I called every local animal hospital in an attempt to get the little guy some help. They all asked for a payment to even walk in the door. This is the only place that seemed concerned about the cat, and they were more than willing to try and help the poor thing. I have not personally used this vet, but based on the amount of concern and compassion I saw today, I will in the future. You guys should all be very proud of what you are doing there.

The staff and veterinary professionals care about each pet and go to great lengths to make sure my questions are answered. Truly a great business and I’m glad they are located in the heart of the city. Couldn’t recommend them enough!

My Kiki was so calm at his annual checkup. I was surprised after I dragged him out from underneath his hiding place. They love him there and he’s a feral cat turned indoor/outdoor. Vet, Jenny and staff have taken care of Marco, my previous baby and now this little handsome smarty pants. I wouldn’t trust anyone else. Kiki in six months is set to get his teeth cleaned ????

Every time we come here, it's always obvious how deeply the staff care about the animals they treat.

This place is great - been seeing this vet since before she opened up her own practise. I know it sounds like a cliche, but they really care about their clients more than the bottom line. They are also huge community supporters.

Have had nothing but great experiences at this vet. Started going in august with my new puppy I got at 8 weeks. They are very helpful and are happy to answer any questions regarding my puppy’s health!

Dr. Stephanie and Dr. Jenny and all the rest of the staff are knowledgeable and caring. This has been my family vet for years and I highly recommend them.

They always spend a lot of time with us, they get us in quickly, and the service is great. Price is reasonable and they don't push things. They always give me options to see what fits in my budget. When one of my dogs passed they gave me time to sit with him and allowed me to be with him through the whole process. They were so kind and empathetic. In my opinion the best vet in New Orleans (and I've been to a few).
