We brought our pup Zander to see Elizabeth Kergosien for oncology diagnosis & treatment. Our visit was the most positive and fair medical experience human or pet we've ever had. She was extremely helpful and honest and caring. I wish everyone in this world treated people the way we were treated here.

When I arrived home from a cruise this morning, I unfortunately had the worse experience of my life and had to go to MedVet in Mandeville today.. Fortunately the experience I had with the people there was above and beyond any expectations I had. The staff there were waiting for me ready to help as I pulled in because my dog was struck by a vehicle. If there’s any advice I can give to those who love their furkids as we do it would be first to be careful who you trust to take care of them when you’re out of town, and secondly would be if you have any medical emergency or need for care, go see the EXCELLENT TEAM at MEDVET!!

Traveling to Corpus Christi from Indian Land SC and our yorkies don't care for car trips. Our Lil Sami started running out both ends from anxiety and we stopped here. Even though they were experiencing a study flow of cases today they got us in and out in about an hour. The staff we encountered were all very kind and professional. They took care if my furchild with efficiency and compassion. I'm thankful we stopped there

Reposting because I realized I realized I wrote it on my work account, lol! My fiancé and I rescued a neglected dog after Ida we named Bruce. We knew he was heartworm positive, and were trying to stabilize him for a fast kill treatment. We thought he was doing better, and were so excited to give this dog a chance at life. Unfortunately, the heartworms were too aggressive. I noticed he was more lethargic than usual, thought it might have been his medication. I kept an eye on him and as soon as he started shaking and spitting up on himself I knew something was wrong. He was ice cold. I called the Humane Society, they said it sounded like he needed oxygen fast. I rushed him to MedVet and they took him in as soon as possible. The tech I talked to was very realistic with me, she tried so hard to be tactful and diplomatic which I appreciated so much. I know it's not easy to tell someone their dog is dying. The staff was so patient with me, I was a bawling mess from the moment I walked through their doors. They let me stay with him for as long as I needed, about five hours, and I made the really difficult decision that no dog mom should ever have to make to put him down. They let me wait for my sister to get here so he would pass surrounded by people that loved him. My fiancé was offshore but they let me video chat him as well and play videos for Bruce, so that they could say goodbye to each other. Nothing I can do can ever come close to repaying the favor of everything they did for my grieving family. This staff did such an amazing job. My baby finally stopped hurting. I can't imagine how hard it is to watch families suffer, and then move on to the next patient with a smile. These people are so brave, so selfless, and they deserve the best. Thank you guys so so much again for everything. Words just don't do y'all justice. I received the sweetest response from them as well, just can't see it cuz I deleted the review. Again, I just am so so thankful for this place.

My dog has been having issues with his kidneys. My vet has run numerous test which points to either a serious infection, an underlying disease or cancer. The next step in diagnosing him was an ultrasound of his kidneys. My vet referred us to MedVet in Mandeville. When I called, the earliest available appointment was two weeks!! As hard as it was to wait two more weeks, I agreed to the appointment. My appointment was for 11:30 am. I dropped my dog off and was told it would take two hours. I thought that was a long time for an ultrasound, but agreed to leave him there. I called at 3:00 to see if I could come pick him up. I was told the vet would call me with the results. I waited…. I then called them at 5:00 and was told the same thing again, the vet will call me. Not wanting to leave him there any longer, I decided to go pick up my dog. When I arrived, I let the front staff know how displeased I was. After a few minutes I was taken into an exam room. A young lady came in with my dog and began to explain to me how busy they had been all day! I asked her if they had even done the ultrasound. Her reply, no. I was livid! I got up with my dog and walked out!!! She started telling me how he wasn’t an emergency and that they had a dog dying in the back, but that my dog was stable and hanging out with them. What!! Hanging out with them??? He hadn’t eaten all day and I’m sure he had no water. And as far as “hanging out”!!! He was in a freaking cage for 6 hours!!! So, no! I don’t recommend MedVet in Mandeville!!

Highly recommended if you have an emergency with your fur baby. From the office staff to the doctors everyone was kind, knowledgeable, and hardworking. They put me at ease and answered all of my questions. I hope I don't have to see them anytime soon, but if I have another emergency I will be back.

My mom brought her thirteen year old toy poodle, Lexi, in for emergency breathing problems. Even having never met my mom or her dog, the staff was professional and compassionate as they had to deliver unfortunate news and Lexi had to be put to sleep. I appreciate the wonderful care shown to my family during such a difficult time.

My dogs’ severe allergy issues came to a head the other night- she was shaking and her gums were pale, which made me worry that she going into anaphylactic shock. We were welcomed in immediately upon arriving, and then into a room. While we were there for several hours, it was entirely understandable, since my baby’s case was much much much less severe than the other cases they had come in. They apologized profusely for the wait, and we told them each it was totally understandable. Everyone in this office was friendly, kind, and professional to the max. Dr Bryant ran everything by us and answered every question we had. Thank you so much to this wonderful crew!

Had to take my dog to the emergency vet here at around 6 am. They were very quick to get her under oxygen and keep us updated as much as possible. As well, they were very transparent about everything and every cost. We had to let her go due to kidney failure, but the vets here gave her the best care they could while being as transparent as possible. Did not feel taken advantage of at all. Thank you to the nurses and Dr. Brittney!

About a month ago, my dog had a medical emergency in the middle of the night. I took her to MedVet, and we were seen quickly by the veterinarian. The veterinarian (I wish I could remember her name) and the staff did all they could for my dog, but sadly, I had to make the decision to put her down. The veterinarian gave me all the information to make a knowledgeable decision for my dog and gave me privacy while I deliberated. Afterward, MedVet sent me a kind sympathy card and an ink paw print of my dog in the mail, so I'll always have that to remember her by. I cannot thank the MedVet staff enough for their care and kindness. With sincere thanks, Chelsey Maywalt.

The team at the Mandeville MedVet location is second to none. When my dog got cancer and began having serious health issues, they were professional in their guidance and very compassionate towards me and my dog every time I had to bring him in. They made it clear they actually cared and did everything they could to ensure my dog maintained a high quality of life until the end.

They are a great emergency vet! We have gone to them several times and they have always been great. Even as far away as they are from us (45minutes to an hour depending) they are our 1st choice for emergencies and after hours

We unfortunately had to have our 15yo dog put to sleep. They made the entire process go smoothly. I have three young children. My oldest was supper attached to our fur baby. They made sure that each of my children had the chance to tell her goodbye. Due to covid only 2 people are allowed inside at a time. But the room was set up like a small living room. So we didn't have to see her laying on some cold medical table. They even gave my children a book called "Dog Heaven". I couldn't believe that they told us to take it home. It is a really nice hard cover book! But they also did ink paw prints for each of the kids. They also gave us some hair clippings. They were absolutely amazing and they were so kind and made sure the kids had plenty of time with her. I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!! Thank you to everyone that was involved with taking care of my baby!!!!! From the bottom of my heart thank you!!!!

I came here because my dog was vomiting and pooping blood. After going there to diagnose the problem they did a physical and stated that all of this was caused by slight dehydration and stress from our new born coming home. They provided no guidance of next steps other than 4 meds and to “monitor the situation”. After a sleepless night, our dog did not get better. We went to our normal vet in the morning and was told a completely different diagnosis and treatment plan. Rather than treatment at MedVet - I received a menu of options to treat and diagnose my dog. I am willing to go to great lengths to treat and help my dog as she is a dear member of my family. The service I was provided here was almost like going to a mechanic and being told “alright well I don’t know what’s wrong but let me know what you want to check.” I would consider every other option before choosing to go to MedVet.

I took my dog to this facility after a referral from her normal vet. Well my dog was in the care of the vet at this facility everything seemed to be wonderful, they diagnosed what they needed to and sent me to the other location in New Orleans for the procedure that needed to be done. After my dog was no longer in the care of this doctor it seemed like they just didn’t care anymore, I asked for a follow up on different treatments to help my dog live a little bit longer and make her a little bit more comfortable, all I received was a recap of what they said not what they wanted to do. I have since called a few times to speak with the doctor that was in charge of my dogs treatment have have not received a phone call back and at this point I believe it’s too late for any treatments.

There have been two horrible incidents at this clinic. We brought our dog there because his vet referred him. They kept him for 5 days and during those 5 days they performed multiple tests. They even gave my dog a blood transfusion. The third day the doctors proceeded to tell us that he is doing better and should be able to come on the next day and that he was eating. The next day we received a phone call saying he took a turn for the worst and had to put him down. In the end they made a guess on what illness he had, there was no definite. The only time they ever have good and adequate information is when they drained my family of $5,000 for useless tests and 2 blood transfusions, when the first one did not take. The second incident we brought by our new puppy to their clinic because they are the only emergent clinic around. Our puppy got into medication and was basically overdosing in my earns and this horrible excuse for a “emergency veterinarian hospital” took their precious time after being informed of the severity of his condition. We sat outside waiting for someone to take him in and i counted at least 6 employees walking and seeing us wait. When someone did come out, she took her precious time and, i say this with emphasis, forced our dog to walk after we told him he is unable/ it is very difficult for him to. They say they care for our pets but they do a horrible and unprofessional job at showing it. Please, if there is any other pace you can take your pet to, choose the other you will have a much more reliable set of employees.

Yesterday my dog ate raisins, and I came here. Dr. Edwards did everything right- took it seriously, communicated everything with me, and took his time explaining and answering all my questions. He was willing to customize a treatment plan to my budget if I needed to. The office overall is being run with curbside service, and their operation was efficient. Because I am staying in Baton Rouge, not Mandeville, and my dog needed 3 days of hospitalization, at the end of which I needed to quickly get to Houston, I wanted to switch him to a vet hospital in BTR so I wouldn’t have to pick him up early and he could get his full 3 days of monitoring & fluids. Dr Edwards made sure my paperwork was sent over and even called the new vet ahead of time for pricing for me (they would not give me pricing) and to let them know we were coming so they could be ready. Unfortunately, we had a horrible experience at the new vet, who kept us waiting until 2:00 am before we finally went to a THIRD vet who did treat him, but that was not the fault of MedVet or Dr. Edwards. Dr. Edwards set my dog up as best he could for the night that followed and went above and beyond to give the second vet ample warning that we were coming with clear instructions and even left the IV thing in his arm to make it easy to get him back on fluids. If this happened again, I would just leave him with Dr. Edwards and try to work out the logistics somehow. Good vets are hard to find!

They’re ridiculous with how they handle things and will bill you for things your dog doesn’t even need.

Our dog Mocha got excellent care here. The entire staff was professional and compassionate and communication was open and ongoing. Thank you Dr. Godfrey, Cheryl, Cadi and the others who cared for our girl while she was in ICU. Cheryl sending me updates and pictures really helped me during the long worrisome nights. I don’t even know where to begin with how much we love Medvet in Mandeville! All three of my pitties are under a year old. And they have seen all three of them. 1st visit was with Dr Lemarie for skin issues with Petra. He has seen her twice and she hasn’t had any issues again. And 2nd experience with Medvet where do I start LoL was with Chaos 1st person to do X-rays was with Nicholle Jenkins leading to Cody Doyle doing juvenile pubic symphysiodesis surgery supposed to be a simple procedure but chaos decided on his own that it wasn’t going to be simple for me or for any of the Doctors at Medvet by eating a puppy pad which I place no blame on Medvet for. THIS IS WHY HIS NAME IS CHAOS LOL. So literally Dr. Doyle, Dr. Jenkins, Dr. Edwards, Dr. Yates and numerous other doctors were all very informative and answered my thousands of questions literally. They text me on their personal phone to check on him or tell me to bring him back not just after this surgery another time that we thought he was obstructed. And not only that, the numerous techs that took my calls when I called to check on him. Even down to the directors that called when he ate the puppy pad she was probably dreading the phone call with me but I told her I’m not upset, whoever has a puppy and says they don’t get into things is a liar.( I forgot to tell them he was potty trained and we didn’t use puppy pads bc the first time we showed him one he put it in his mouth and shook it all around like a toy) We had many of laughs with my dog Chaos bc he is just a big goofball that loves going to Medvet literally he gets so excited when the techs come out to get him! And last but not least my 9 week old American bully Envy got into something she shouldn’t have and had to be rushed to Medvet and thank god Dr Edwards was on staff and handled everything with her quickly. Dr Yates called the next morning and gave us an update after she ran some tests and we pick her up tomorrow. I got pictures of chaos and Envy when they were at Medvet which made me feel even better about my dogs being in their care. I’m sure this won’t be the last time they see us! As far as prices I feel like my dogs are in great hands and that’s what matters to me! So if your pet needs emergency care definitely go to Medvet in Mandeville and even if it’s not a emergency and you need specialty care go to Medvet in Mandeville. Here are pics that were sent to me by Medvet doctors while in their care.

I like this place for the simple fact they have equipment that not everyone has BUT... My biggest issue right now they dehydrated my baby girl! MOST IMPORTANTLY Do your research on the medication given with the manufacturer. They have the does and don'ts for a reason. DO NOT trust everything that doctors say to do. They don't know your baby like you do!
