Excellent service, this is a wonderful cause and the staff is super friendly and nice. Can’t say enough nice things about this place. Please consider if you are thinking of adopting an animal.

Came to CAA after not hearing back from other adoption places. Their facility is gorgeous, and their staff is knowledgeable and super friendly! After browsing online, I found Freddie (formerly known as Turkey at CAA). Went, adopted him and left with him the same day! They don’t play silly games like other places in town. I’m glad to have found him. ❤️

I have adoped two of my little buddies (dog and cat) from here and I'm glad to have given them a home. CAA was the only place to give me a response in comparison to the lack of contact from rescue groups. I will definitely try to volunteer more in the future when I have time!

They have plenty of pets to choose from and they are all adorable, however they could be a bit more clean around some of the dog areas

Very disrespectful and rude service… Sat us down and just made us wait after we been there for hours picking out a kitten… We filled out paperwork and waited… We were ignored and treated like we were the problem… Shameful.. Under staffed and no knowledge at all about any of the animals.. After 30 min of waiting we just walked out and changed our minds… Very dissatisfied, I do not recommend at all… Very unprofessional

It was really chill when I first entered - went here with a couple of friends, got to chill with some cats and met some big and small dogs alike. Super friendly staff and overall very caring people who adore animals and take good care of the establishment. Would love to go back when I'm around again.

Filled out the paper work to adopt a super sweet young cat after spending about and hour with them just to be told the cat was pre-adopted. None of the paper work on cat condo stated this. The cat also wasn't separated from other cats even though it was being adopted.

Awesome staff, working very hard to save lives!! Go here first to adopt a dog or cat, kitten or puppy! Friendly volunteers that work soooooo hard to foster, spend time with, walk, bathe, make these pets comfortable until their forever person comes for them!!!

These ppl take 4ever getting my dog and they don’t let you know what’s going on or the full process like people ain’t got places to be and just sit there and look @ you without giving any type of information.

Only dogs available for adoption were pit bull crossed with whatever or pure pit bull. There were other breeds there but every dog I thought desirable I was told I could not adopt. As I followed the map thur the rooms labeled For Adoption in making my "picks" and nobody would explain why my selections all did not qualify for adoption. One dog is all I wanted, old or young, male or female, big or small as long as the undesirable charactics present in most pit bulls were not present .

CAA does amazing things for lost, abandoned, and abused animals in Louisiana. I am so grateful for the work that they do. Thank you CAA, and we will continue to support you however we can!

I hadn't been around any cats in almost a year, so I went to visit the new facility to play with some kittens. One had some aggressive play, which is fine. I'm used to cat scratches from when I had my own. I sanitized afterwards, but now I have a very bad case of ringworm 2 weeks later in the spots the kitten broke skin. Apparently their intake is so high, they don't have enough staff or resources to do a thorough check for ringworm at least. Never had ringworm until now, so no other place I could've gotten it as I stay home alone other than this visit. It's truly the worst, and I'm on Rx pills for a month. I'd be careful when going. Wear long sleeves and pants for sure.

The staff are friendly and the place is clean. I haven't adopted a cat yet but I feel welcomed every time I come by. I'm looking forward to adopting a cat from here.

Facility is very nice and staff were helpful. inside is hot, however, and with the mask mandate, it was physically undercomfortable.

Super friendly. They took in a puppy I had found. It was in pretty bad shape, but they were so willing to help. They do adoptions and everything

Everything about the adoption process and making sure we were taken care of was absolutely perfect. However, my boyfriend and I circumstances became out of our control to where we couldn’t keep our beloved fur baby anymore. We were trying to come up with the best option for her, which we called the animal shelter and we were told we can return her, however she may be euthanized due to overcapacity at the shelter by a woman over the phone. That instantly broke our hearts to result making us paranoid about bringing her back. I understand overcapacity is a difficult situation to resolve, but I would rather not hear that being a possible option since my dog was only 2 months old. That’s the only complaint I have, but we decided to bring her back and they seemed more than understanding. I love CAA and I’m hoping when we’re absolutely sure about getting a pet, we’ll come back.

Came in to a nice staff. The facility was semi clean but they were very understaffed. The puppy room was very messy and almost all the puppies looked very sick. When I went to adopt my puppy I was waiting for them to enter my paperwork into the system they had given my puppy away to another woman. When I got my puppy he was very skinny but I was prepared to help nurse him back to health. Two days went by and he wasn’t eating and was already very skinny. We tried calling to speak to the staff like they told us to do if something was wrong with the puppy, but no one answered; we called multiple times through the day and on two separate days. Still no answer. We brought them in to be checked out and the staff said they were positive for parvo and that they could not treat them. Why would we be given dogs that were sick to begin with and then told they wouldn’t treat them? We were also told that we could just leave them there and they would be put down but we could take home another dog today. Very disappointed in the way they handle things at this shelter.
