DO NOT bring your beloved to this rat hole! I waited in the parking lot for over an hour. There is NO VET in the building, the techs call the vet to come in (two hours or more later). The white trash at the desk/front door is downright rude and VERY unprofessional. The horrific are reviews about this place are TRUE!!!! HORRIBLE experience

Dr Goranova and her staff at Baton Rouge Pet Emergency Hospital are exceptional! Their compassionate bedside manner and professional straight forward care at 2:30 in the morning should be an envy of many human physicians! So thankful they are open and were happy to help with Chloe's emergency. I felt like they cared about Chloe and her well-being. Sooo grateful!!!

I brought my cat here at 7:45 on Wednesday night due to an emergency. Immediately upon arrival they took my card and I had to pay a $99 fee before they would even see her. I was told to wait in the car, and the vet would look at her and give me a call. After almost an hour, I was told she had been seen, but the vet was on the phone with another patient. I requested my cat wait with me. After pushing, she was given back to me. We of course went elsewhere, and I never received a call from the vet. My cat was put to sleep early that morning due to complications. The animal hospital claims they left multiple voicemails with me, none of which I received, and refuse to refund me. DO NOT use these people. They are untrustworthy and only care about profiting off of sick pets and scared owners.

Do NOT trust these people. Not even with an ant. I took my Chihuahua there in an emergency situation and was told to wait outside. That wasn't a problem because although it was in a shady neighborhood it was daylight. I was literally the only vehicle in the parking lot. The only patient.. Well after about 30 minutes she would come outside and tell me the doctor is still examining her. Well 30 minutes turns into an hour and it's starting to get dark and the mosquitoes are coming out. After about an hour and a half I asked what was going on. She said she was still with the doctor. 1-1/2 hours and not request for test? Something wasn't right so I asked for my dog so I could take her to a different hospital. She got my dog and just before I left the doctor pulls in. My chin hit the ground. All this time and the doctor wasn't even there. So I tell the girl that I would like to talk to the vet. She went to the back then came back and told me the doctor will be out in a minute. Well 10 minutes turned into 20 minutes then 30 minutes. I got suspicious and went around the building just to see if the vet was even still there only to find she had left. I WILL be reporting them to the board.

DO NOT TAKE YOU FUR BABY HERE, it will die while they try and push you for money. They let my pup die and then charged me outrageous amount of money. They don't care about your babies. Go to SHERWOOD FOREST VET, they are kind and caring. If i can same one fur baby by posting this, it will do my heartgood. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN.

I’m not sure about the negative reviews, but I picked my dog up a hour ago, and he is doing much better than before. They really cared for him and took their time. I can’t remember to two ladies who helped me name, BUT THEY WERE AMAZING AND SWEET. I’d definitely recommend taking your pet there. Edit: my dog died two hours after he was brought home, before I can take him to a normal vet. I asked about his breathing when I picked him and was told that was from nausea. His breathing was shallow and i’m upset because he was anemic and they had him on only an iv, not a transfusion. He was underweight and you had to pay before actually having a diagnostic done. My dog was healthy minus the anemia and that happened from fleas. This is gross. I lost my son.

They charged me over $100 to tell me that my cat died while we filled out their paperwork and waited for the tech to walk back to collect said paperwork in the parking lot. It was 2 days before Christmas. Facts: They do not wait in the front, after you ring it will feel like ages until the walk to meet you. They will crack the door and tell you that you can wait in the parking lot, fill out the paperwork, give them the payment, then they'll check on your pet. It's over a 10-15 min process. You will feel helpless in an emergency. Do not go there.

STAY AWAY! All they care about getting $$$. Could care less about your loved one. Almost killed my sons dog, when they decided to leave, tech threw the leash and said good luck! Very rude employees! Brought him to Sherwood Emergency he was seen right away and treated! He is much better now.

My Koda is currently at this place fighting for her life.. I was told they need money in order to save her.. I asked what was wrong with her and was told they didn’t know. I then asked Liberty so my baby is crashing y’all don’t know why and I have to pay in order for y’all to save her.. she then hung up on me.. No payment plan, and you don’t even want to save an animal before asking for funds cause “it’s a business”. It’s your JOB to save and animal REGARDLESS of funds.. so maybe THE PEOPLE in THIS PLACE need to find another career that requires less caring, and allow people that TRULY care about ANIMALS over MONEY take over.. And now currently on hold and then get told she didn’t make it.. they literally allowed my dog to die because I didn’t have more than $180 to give them

Brought my dog, jasper, who was kicked by one of our horses bleeding out with teeth missing. They would not take my dog until I filled out paperwork and gave them money. Not able to wait, I had to take him somewhere else so he could be treated. Extremely selfish and uncaring people here.

My daughter, who is twenty and lives at home had her cat Juno spayed at another local vet. Three days later, she thought the stitches were split open by the kitten, so we took it to Baton Rouge Animal and pet emergency clinic. When we arrived, it was curbside due to Covid. They made us fill out paperwork, which asked for a social, which I thought odd. I told my daughter to leave that blank as they require your payment method when they take the cat. We were informed that there is a $ 99.00 fee for the consult with the doctor, and then we would be informed of any cost associated with her care. A few minutes after they took Juno, they called and asked for my daughter's email. They were sending the cost over for approval. When my daughter opened the email she began to cry. They were charging her $759.63, and had loaded the bill with medicines and probiotics. Of course, each line item on their invoice had no actual total, so goodness knows how much the extra, unneeded medications cost.- or the care itself for that matter. When Elise asked for Juno back, they tried to negotiate the fee. I firmly told her to ask for her pet back. We realized on the way to Sherwood they had charged us $99.00. Sherwood determined in a few minutes that Juno's stitches were fine, they were just being absorbed. We left Sherwood with an e collar and no charge.- because the Technician saw nothing was wrong. This is how Veterinary medicine should be done. Please take our story to heart. It's apparent that the vet at BR animal hospital did not even look at Juno before padding an invoice with unnecessary charges for care that she did not need.- and then charged us for an assessment she did not even make. I can only imagine they do this over and over again, and scam upset and scared people out of thousands in a weekend. Do yourself a favor, go anywhere else. I'd rather have a witch doctor take care of my pets. At least I'd know they were trying to do the right thing.

STAY AWAY!!! First off it's a emergency room there should be better protocol. I arrived there last night and had to call and fill out paperwork. Before my pet can be seen hence the word EMERGENCY!! Then when they finally came to get my pet. They tell me about a $99 fee okay cool. But let the tech explain that not the veterinarian while holding my pet. My puppy was in and out of consciousness they could care less. Was emailed a bill for $860 with no prices for the medication. It's more about money than care for your pet. They treated her for possible intoxication I clearly kept saying she didn't get into any meds. STAY AWAY FIND ANOTHER EMERGENCY ROOM!!!

Took my cat, Snowball, to this clinic and she LITERALLY DIED in the waiting room because this selfish woman demanded payment. In Snowball’s honor please do not go to this rip off of a pet hospital. Your fur babies deserve better.

DO NOT COME HERE!!!Saturday brought our pet in. $99 upfront, Receptionist somewhat explains what's needed so $791 needed. We are desperate, he's very sick. Still No professional spoke with us. Sunday morning blood work is said to be fine but he needs to stay another day $291, we asked to see him was told might upset him. Monday morning pick him up with no discharge papers no professional to speak with was told will call us later. Tues morning at AVS getting professional health care, our pet very lethargic, new blood work, now pancreatitis and liver levels off. Why would BR Animal hospital let an animal leave with this condition. This is very unprofessional and life threatening place.

Wish I can do zero stars! If you take your dog to this place it’s dead! They worried about a payment before they even see the dog! It’s called 24 hour vet for a reason. Cause it’s convenient for you that they are open. And that’s what you paying for cause they don’t give a damn about your dog. R.I.P. scooter

I don’t know about the other negative reviews but I brought my dog Finnegan in for a puncture wound to the chest from a dog attack. Dr Hannah And her staff were so good to him and me. The service was great and the price was reasonable for sedation, stitches and medication for an emergency visit. I’d highly recommend Dr Hannah Sibley.

Went last night with our sick 9 month old mixed breed puppy. In my opinion very little care, concern or compassion but they didn't mind collecting $900+. When we discussed the situation with our neighbor this morning, who had used them previously, they were not surprised. They won't go back and neither will we.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. This place is extremely unprepared to handle pet emergencies. OUR DOG DIED. We brought in our pet and they immediately put him on a catheter. Assuming it was because they were to lazy to take him outside to go to the bathroom. They kept him overnight to run all these tests just to tell us he POSSIBLY had a ringworm infestation. We pumped him with all these extra prescriptions he couldnt even keep down, that he was probably forced to take down at the vet. Just to find out his stomach was turning the whole time. How was this not caught with all the tests they charged us for? We brought our dog home after they assured us he would get better and he died within hours. When i brought my dog home i knew something was wrong and called the vet back immediately, the receptionist didnt even let me speak with the Dr. and assured us it was a side effect of the medication. The Dr called us later and "Apologized for any misinformed information" the receptionist gave us and i told her this misinformed information cost us our dogs life, she then proceeded to tell us her receptionist gave us the right information trying to save herself from any lawsuit. She was extremely rude over the phone telling us "she was not God" and acted in a very unprofessional manner. This place is lazy, ill prepared, and very rude. We cant help to think maybe our boy would be here today if we just decided to take him to a different vet. If you want quality care and professionals that care for you and your family this place is not it. Take your pet and money elsewhere, because im still paying almost 2K in vet fees for a pet i no longer have.

This is not the same Vet... Dr Michael no longer works / owns this location. Do yourself a favor, save the time and go any place else. New ownership must be spoon fed, because she has no idea of how to treat or not to belittle the customer. "Just go to LSU", the lady that answered the phone (not the Vet) here actually recommended it to me, but I had no idea Dr Michael retired. So much for loyalty, I should have listened to the front desk and put my respect for the way I used to be treated to the side. If you ever hear the name "Dr. Goranova" run the other way. At least the lady who told me to go to LSU was on point, because that's what I did, after the time spent finding out the truth about new management.

We brought my puppy in thinking she has parvo and they would not do anything for her until we agreed to pay 2,000 or 800$ foe her to be treated rather it was parvo or not they wouldn’t let us just get the parvo test for 65$ they wanted us to pay either 800 or 2,000 regardless if she had parvo or not they wouldn’t do anything unless we gave them money first !

I came here Saturday with my cat, who was suffering from a blocked urinary track. Everyone, the techs, the nurses, the doctors and the secretaries were so kind to me during this time. Even with the added pressure of Covid they treated me with a lot of compassion. My cat isn’t out of the woods yet (he’s being treated at our primary vet now) but this facility kept him alive and healthy until my guy was able to get to his primary physician. I am so thankful and so grateful for the care we received here. My cat was treated with affection and compassion, and by people who genuinely enjoy animals. I cannot stress again how thankful I am for your services. I hope I don’t have to use them again, but if there’s ever an emergency I know where to go.

Dr. Goranova, the vet at Baton Rouge Animal Hospital, is very unprofessional, rude, insensitive, and has no compassion. Her communication skills are abhorrent. She is a bully, which No one with an injured pet needs to encounter. I felt very unsafe leaving our family pet under her care. She is either a very angry person who needs intensive therapy, or she is a sociopath which no amount of therapy would help her. Read her reviews. Like so many others, I will Never take my pet there again.

We brought our dog in for an emergency visit, he couldn’t poop and was crying out in pain when squatting. The doctor saw him right away and diagnosed the problem immediately. We were in and out in about an hour...$362.50 was a small price to pay for diagnosis, medicine and a healthy 8 month old puppy...I will recommend them.

If you see the name Dr. Goranova, just run away for your own sake. This disgrace of a vet will have ZERO compassion for you, ZERO respect for you, and had an attitude right from the gate as if it were such a burden that I brought my bleeding dog to the vet. I took my dog here after he fractured his jaw. While bleeding everywhere I was forced to fill out the patient form before they could even take him in. After the nurse sees my dog bleeding, she closes the door saying I can’t come in unless it’s filled out, I couldn’t even fill it out while they took him in. So I’m standing outside the front door, dog bleeding all in my car, filling out this form as fast as possible so my dog doesn’t faint from loss of blood and then finally I finish the form. I’m ringing the door bell a bunch of times and the nurse took her sweet ole time. Luckily I got my dog fixed elsewhere. Hope your boss sees this Goranova! It’s sad to see a grown adult with such an immature nature, what a shame. Get help soon love!

Unfortunately, I had to give a 1-star review, but in my personal opinion, this facility deserves none. I don't usually write reviews, but Dr. Greta Goranova is possibly the worst doctor that I have ever seen. She is insensitive, disrespectful, awful, and a liar. She is entirely unprofessional and honestly is incapable of doing her job correctly. To give you an understanding of why I will never come here again and why I will be recommending the Animal hospital on S Sherwood instead, here's a brief explanation. (Zimba pronounced like Simba.) Three pit bulls broke in through the fences that separated our backyards. They attacked my mixed breed Chihuahua on Thanksgiving Day while he enjoyed the sun. His condition worsened by the second, and I rushed here because this hospital was the closest one to me. Due to the Corona Virus, I understand that there are rules and regulations to keep staff members safe. So the first thing I noticed was that there was a clipboard outside of the entrance that I needed to fill out. Mind you, my Zimba is in an unstable condition, and I wanted his pain under control at the very least. There was a doorbell that my bf and I pressed multiple times, within the first 3 minutes of arriving, trying to get the attention of someone from on the inside. It felt like the longest 3 minutes of my life, and as soon as (I'm assuming) the nurse-1 came to us, she immediately requested my form of payment for the emergency fee before attempting to help my child. Even though I was trying to give Zimba to the nurse, she refused to take him unless the payment went through. After charging me $99, she took him inside, and later, Dr. Goranova told me that he was only put in an Oxygen box. While I waited, I hastily filled out the form, and nurse-1 retrieved it from me moments later. Nurse-2 comes out to greet me, and she has a much nicer personality than Nurse-1. She wanted me to redo the paperwork that I had already completed. Still, After informing her of this, she lets me know that Nurse-1 and her are having communication issues, this worries me even more, and I ask for several updates while I wait. After pacing back and forth for what feels like forever, I get a call from Dr. Goronova herself, asking if the pit bulls shook him. (His spinal cord could be damaged.) This is the only analysis that she gave us. Her tone made me feel incredibly sickened, and when I asked for more information about his condition, she told me that I would have to first pay for the X-rays and everything that he would possibly need because she "cannot give me more information based off by just looking at him." I informed her that when I previously brought my other dog here for surgery, I had a friend who is also a vet look at his paperwork, and he told me that I was overcharged. I asked that since I wasn't physically there with him can I have proof that he was given proper treatment. After asking Dr. Goronova this, Her tone was genuinely defensive, and she went on a rant that she was a professional "Doctor" and didn't record surgeries. She continued to mumble about her accomplishments, and I decided at that moment that I wanted to go to a different location. If she is as ignorant as she sounds, I didn't want her operating on my Zimba. I had to tell her that the conversation was over and to let me know the price so I can work something out. I wanted him out of pain immediately, and if she is the only doctor there, I didn't want her attention anywhere else but on my child. After emailing me the prices, I requested Zimba back and drove him to the South Sherwood location. If I had one regret, it would have been to take him here first instead. As soon as I told the receptionist what happened, she immediately took Zimba from me and took him to the back. Moments later, she informed me that the doctors wanted to give him morphine, and it would be $300. I paid immediately. As we're waiting for answers, I filled out his paperwork, and she gives me options of payments because the surgery will cost $2k to $5k at the least. I felt reassured. TBC...

Today I was for the first time in this hospital, where they have an excellent treatment and efficiency and experience regarding animals. My wife and I are very pleased. Thank you a thousand for your services. God bless you.

Worst service and very uncompassionate!!! I brought my dog in for an emergency. He had seized up in the middle of the night and could not breathe and his body went completely stiff I called them and ask what should be done, they told me to bring him in. When I brought him in I had to pay 280 plus dollars just to get him seen and a addition 700 plus dollars to get him diagnose then an additional 300 plus dollars to get him treated they hospitalize my dog overnight to treat him they had a full 24 hours to treat him my total was 1467 nearly $1,500 when I arrive the next morning to pick up my dog there was no additional information given to me about his condition his true diagnosis what cause him to seize up they didn't tell me if he had eaten which he did not and gave me a bunch of medicine for him that can only be taken orally but did not give me any tips or information on how to provide him with the medicine given seeing that he wasn't eating and that he would not hold down food and his condition was exactly the same as when I brought him in nothing had changed after I paid nearly $1,500 when I call to voice my frustration and concerns I wasn't given any helpful information on how to continuously treat my dog how to administer his medicine how long the effects of his condition would last any further treatment plan or diagnosis they told me if I felt he need any further treatment to bring him back in and they would treat him at an additional cost and when I asked for the head of the clinic for their name credentials and contact information I was told that I was harassing them and was hung up on twice the worst clinic ever they have no genuine concern for your pets they only want money.
