We adopted our new family member from Nashville Humane Association, and the adoption process was seamless. I completed the application online so they had it available when we arrived. We were able to interact with what became our cat, informed staff that we planned to take him home, and he was put into our crate for us. The adoption paperwork is mostly digital (nice perk!) and payment was contactless. The facility as a whole was clean, staff was friendly, and staff seemed genuinely happy that one of their animals got a new home! I'd highly recommend adopting from them, the animals seems well-taken care of and are regularly interacted with!

I had to give my cats up for adoption, my heart was beyond shattered, I cried the entire time I was there BUT I had the most amazing, caring, loving, angel helping me with my babies and her name is alexandrea had it nor been for her and her amazing heart I don't think I could have went threw with it, my babies were adopted 5 days later and I know it's because of her, she assured me that they would do everything possible to get the cats a loving forever home, and that they did! I don't think the shelter is an easy way out but if you have no other options I highly recommend NHS and ALWAYS ADOPT PRECIOUS BABIES IN SHELTERS THEY NEED AND WANT LOVING FOREVER HOMES

This place is great the staff and volunteers are so friendly and helpful, it's always very clean and we finally found our little girl today. Bella Flor and they made the adoption process so easy not like some of the other shelters. Remember to adopt from a shelter and save a life ❤

We adopted a sweet cat named Calvin from here. He had been re homed a couple of times and were a little worried. He is the biggest cuddle buddy ever! We couldn’t image life without him!

Im interested in adopting a small puppy but i really want to know if you need to pay to adopt one or its free because a friend of mine got one free and she only had to sign a bunch of paper work

A love story in a review. I adopted this sweet girl from NHA in April and it was such a positive experience. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind, the shelter was clean. They let you take the pups into a meeting room for one on one time to really give the pups a chance to steal your heart. I have another dog and they let me run home to bring him back, a behavioralist came out to watch the two interact to make sure they didn't see any issues with proceeding with the adoption. Luckily it worked out for me! I brought her home the same day. She had puppies at the shelter and the social media staff was kind enough to entertain my questions on which babies were hers. Overall a great experience and I recommend them to anyone looking to adopt. Adoption fees do vary depending on the dog, but overall they're very reasonable. I also really like the vet clinic they're partnered with, VCA. I specifically go to the one on Murphy Road, so thanks to NHA for helping me find them too.

My granddaughter was told by her therapist that a pet would be great, to we went to the adopt a pet cat. An attendant let her get a cat out and go to the bonding area, and plus we had already filled out papers before hand, but when we finished and went to tell the lady at the desk area this was the pet we wanted, another couple saw us waiting for the pet after we had claimed it first, starting cry to her husband that she wanted the same one that we had, so they came in with a cardboard box and just literally took it from us, giving it to them, knowing she had two pets already at home! My granddaughter is 16 yrs old, and felt this was so unfair without reason. We left never to return to that particular shelter ever again. So rediculous!!!

This place is helping foster my dog & come to find out he has an extremely bad ear infection & rash. I had no idea! They're already beginning to treat him before the fostering begins. I'm extremely thankful to them, and I look forward to getting things together in my own life & be reunited with my dog Buddy within 90 days. The staff was so Wonderful & the doctor shared everything with me & told me his treatment plan. I give NHA 5 Stars ???? See you soon Buddy & Get Well Soon! They will also be in contact with me weekly & promised to send many photo's too. Phil Haynes

Adopted a 2 month old orange tabby kitten here today. I adore him already!! The staff here is so kind and knowledgeable about the pets and was definitely making effort to help me make the right decision. Very beautiful place as well. They’re having an event this week so I got my new baby for only $25. If you’re looking to adopt, this is the best place to go.
