Not impressed. The lady who answered the phone didn't ask questions about our pet when the appointment was made. Upon arrival we called to say that we had arrived, gave our pet's name and was told that we would be contacted. After a second call, no answer, and about an hour later we left. We were never called. Luckily our pet wasn't an emergency patient.

My dog was diagnosed with leptospirosis 1 month after receiving the vaccine using a test known to give false positives within a few months post vaccination. I'm not happy, as my pet had lymphoma and could have had a better last few months if all my friends weren't too paranoid about their dogs catching leptospirosis (which my dog likely never had) to allow him to visit and play with them and their dogs. Everyone makes mistakes, but I would have appreciated an email or call once they realized this instead of them hoping I was too stupid to notice, knowing he would soon be dead from cancer anyway. All of my friends wanted to come over and let their dogs who grew up with him play together while he still felt good, but were too afraid, and for no reason. My dog's been dead for months and I'm still upset. I like them as people, but this was awful to deal with. I had to sanitize everywhere he peed for fear of the spirochetes being left behind to infect another dog, for no reason.

They take the best care of our doggies! We have two dogs that are rambunctious and get into all kinds of little and sometimes big mischief. They always come out alright because of the wonderful workers here! Thank you for all you do!

On Friday, July 2, 2021 my son and I took our two young cats (Henry and Blue) to this vet office for their annual shots. We were not allowed in and signs up still stating curbside only. Two ladies came out to our vehicle to get our cats. One lady had paperwork showing it would be $183 for each cat which included bloodwork, shots and whatever else. No explanation of each item on the list and what they would be for. I thought that was a bit much but then thought "ok, no biggie, whatever." We're out there, not too long and the vet comes out. She comes over to my side, the driver's side and tells us that Henry has a murmur. We need to take him to a cardiologist. He could possibly get X, Y and Z (as though I am also a vet and have any idea what she's talking about) then says "you could find him dead". Then she walks away. My 16 year old son looks at me and says "That's it?". As we sit there baffled the first lady comes out to collect payment. I had to ask her about a cardiologist. She goes back in and comes out with a sticky note saying the vet recommended taking him to a cardiologist in Cincinnati or Louisville and IF we needed a referral they could give us one later. That is it... appointment is over so we leave, beyond baffled, out almost $400 and wondering what to do next. I immediately posted on my FB page asking friends to refer another vet clinic. Funny that I had a couple of friends who already knew the vet that told us this without stating where I went and what vet our cats saw. They were not surprised by the lack of compassion or concern from the vet, staff or clinic. I also had a friend surprised there were no other recommendations other than driving an hour away to a cardiologist. Fast forward to Tuesday, July 6, I took Henry to another vet clinic where we were allowed to enter the clinic and room with our cats. The vet listen for several minutes, using two different stethoscopes and didn't hear anything abnormal or unusual. This vet also gave us all the signs to look for. She recommended we take him back for another checkup in 3-6 months and at that time we can even do an x-ray to see if there is anything abnormal with his heart. On Tuesday, July 6, at 5:33pm I received an email from Eastland vet clinic stating our other cat (Blue) bloodwork came back. This is the message we received: "Blue's bloodwork is back and it all is looking pretty good so far. There are a few values slightly out of "normal" range but I believe they are all due to excitement at the time of his visit. Nothing I am overly concerned about at this time." However, on July 7, at 1:40pm I received this email about Blue regarding his bloodwork. "Hi, Blue's lab work looks great." Both emails included the same pdf document with the same results. So, now I'm really confused. Is Blue's bloodwork good with values out of the normal or great? Which is it? On Tuesday, July 7, at 9:10am I received this email. "The results of Henry's bloodwork have come back, and everything appears to be normal! There were a couple of elevations in his CBC, but nothing I am concerned about.". No mention here of a heart murmur and no pdf document with any results. I immediately responding asking which was accurate information on Blue's bloodwork. I also requested the pdf document for Henry. As of July 8, 2021 I haven't received a reply. Oh, I forgot to also mention at the initial appointment I was given a bottle and told they were unable to get a stool sample from Blue and we needed to do that. I'm sorry but for almost $400 they need to do that or ask us to bring him back another day for one. I would have given no stars but you're required to give at least one to leave a review. *This is my reply to the clinic's response: The Dr. did not explain what a heart murmur was so that is a flat out lie. However, my son and I are not idiots. We know exactly what a heart murmur is. If there was any true concern regarding our cat a sit down talk should have been done at that time along with referrals. We will not return for any reason. Too many other amazing vets in Lexington.

Eastland Animal Clinic has won my loyalty for all animal needs and I take every chance I get to recommend them to friends and family. They are amazing people who genuinely care about what they do and how they serve others, human and animal alike. My pup pup Gunner got parvo January of 2019. Dr Riggs and her staff proved to me their love for others by giving him five star care through time intensive procedures as well as compassion for me as a dog family member. He had a sub cutaneous infection turn into an abscess and they gave me knowledgeable information to care throughout the whole healing process which is still going on today. We visit them for grooming and they greet him like a family member every time he comes in and for that I am so grateful. I'm currently sittings at their office waiting for them to look at Gunner once again and just wanted to share how much the staff here makes my heart want to burst through all situations. Thank you all ❤️

They are amazing people. Our normal very couldn't get us in for a few days and the emergency vet was too expensive. They got us in, took care of our girl last week, and became our new vet for Newby this week!
