The staff is always helpful and willing to answer questions without making me feel dumb for asking. This is why I will go out if my way to do business with Petland.

Don't buy from here. They use breeders.

Please, please beware. My girlfriend just got her baby dachshund there, and there are so many issues. To preface this, she’s a nurse and I work for the state. I’ve gotten a bulldog here once before, and was offered a $5.5K credit limit (18/mo no interest) on a $4.8K dog. My girlfriend (who is just starting to establish her credit) put $1.4K down and financed the difference on a $4K puppy—who we named Ella. Here are some huge concerns: #1: Their lopsided contracts contain interest rates of up to 138% interest. #2: Our poor pup has been constantly dry-heaving every single night. They give you 72 hours to get to a vet (MUST be in Maize) or you lose all the “warranty” on your pet. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it the day ours was assigned. We got Ella on a Saturday night and they scheduled us for the following Monday. I’m more upset because the dog sounds like she’s in pain every night, and at random times she will start trying to try to puke, but can’t. My GF signed the most lopsided contract because she fell in love with a puppy—who unfortunately may have a sleuth of issues. Since we didn’t make it in to that vet appointment, all additional costs will be on us. Please be cautious. Check shelters, check local breeders or private sellers. Ella was a $4000 dog. Petland gets away with this because they have a sales system implemented. When I offered a couple of objections, their staff (who wasn’t all that great, btw) had quick remarks and even tried up-selling us on overpriced dog accessories and toys. I understand the concept, and I can appreciate the hustle. If the dog was healthy I probably wouldn’t have taken the time to write this. However, something is wrong with this poor puppy and it’s so gutting. If you are seriously contemplating purchasing a puppy with your hard earned money, please contact me and I will help you the best way I can. Nobody deserves to be swindled into this.

Had an awesome time here. Staff was very friendly and very accommodating, and who doesn't love playing with puppies. Didn't leave with a dog that day but would definitely go back to get one.

My husband and I decided to give the west pet land store a try last night because I’m not the biggest fans of the east store (We both learned last night that the stores have different owners and have no connection). We were greeted by Malia who was so helpful, friendly and attentive! She was more than happy to help us find a puppy and was never pushy or upset if we weren’t satisfied with the puppy we were playing with. My husband and I were in the store 30+ minutes after closing last night and not a single employee made us feel bad they actually were all so nice and willing to help us out. Thank west pet land staff and Malia for helping us out last night ????

Needs more of a selection of pets.

I have purchased puppies from both the East location and the West location. By far, the customer service and cordiality of the staff at the West location is far-exceeded. Not only did the staff know their products and puppies, they met us financially where we could be, made sure our puppy was a good match, and did not push for additional charges or credit cards. We met the owner as well as the manager. This service is incredible and worth the trip out to their location if you are not from west Wichita. We will definitely be back to see them again in the future.

I bought 3 dogs from here, will not do so again. I went to get my puppies registered and AKC said that the dogs I bought were registered under mixed breed, which when we were there we were told all of our dogs were 100% purebred. AKC also said that Petland, in the contract they signed with AKC, must neuter and spay their mixed breeds, which of course they don’t, then lie to you and say you can breed them. I paid 10,000 for all 3 dogs from there, none of them 100%, all in the mixed breed club and supposed to be spayed and neutered. Every time you walk in to this place people have an attitude and stand there and lie to your face. Better to go and get one from an outside source where the dogs are cheaper and not treated like cash grabs. Also that money you pay for a dog is not because they are “100%” or because they “AKC registered” but because of the “love and food” that they put into the dogs, which is what an employee told me. A real joke these places.

I got My forever fur friend here. My puppy is healthy, sweet and calm. The employees were so nice, helpful and personable. I’m so thankful I stopped by and got my puppy here. The store is clean and well kept. They partner with Companion Animal hospital and they have been great as well!

Im so disappointed with this location. I went with my brother expecting to get (him) a puppy. He and his wife was able to visit with a couple puppies as I watched my nephews after they got bored of being in the room although in-between time i requested to see one of the pups for my self and was blown off so that left a bad taste in my mouth oh and the own was their as well,but i let it go because one employee's was kind and very helpful in entertaining me and my nephews with the birds and a crab .so long story short If your in the market for a new puppy look elsewhere unless your willing to pay 4000 dollars for a pup thats not pure n doesn't come with papers lol ridiculous.

I went there needing help with my fish and what I can treat my tank with according to the problem. Kevin in aquatics is SO helpful, and so knowledgeable! If you're needing info or help picking out a fish, he is your guy.

The snails we buy keep dying. They're nice and easy to work with but I'm having no luck with these.
