Best Friend's Pet Clinic Wichita, Kansas

I am a new dog mom and when I noticed my puppy had something going on with his ear I wanted him treated quickly before it got worse. I called around and I was able to get in very fast (I can now see why) the receptionist and assistant were fabulous! The vet himself was horrible! He didn’t explain to me anything that was going to happen and when I was simply trying to tell him which ear was bothering him he got snippy with me telling me this is his job and was also grabbing my puppy very hard asking if he was ready to listen. The entire situation made me uncomfortable and I let him know I did not appreciate the way he was speaking to me. My dog will need a follow up appt but I will never be returning to that office and have made an appointment elsewhere!! Highly DO NOT recommend!!! Grumpy old vet!!!!!!

Dr. White is the greatest always takes care of my fur babies

Dr white was very friendly and patient, the staff very kind and caring, I can’t say enough with how at ease they made me fill and how caring they were. I could have stayed all day just talking to dr white, very nice man!

This place is a joke !! They had told us one price by the time it came to pay it was almost 130 on top of what they had previously said. Then the veterinarian had the nerve to laugh at us. I will never recommend this place to anyone

I'd never been to this place before but my cat was in pretty dire straits and I needed to get in to a vet pretty quickly. The doctor there was able to buy my cat a few weeks so he could say goodbye to everyone and meet his death on his terms. I'm so thankful for that. This is a man who really cares about animals.

I brought my dog in due to this clinic having walk-in appointments and no other vets in my area having appointments available within a few days. My dog, an 18 lb mini schnauzer, appeared to have a spider bite that didnt look good, so desperate I brought her here. To get a better look at the bite he shaved the area down. Me and the very very young assistant had to hold her down because she was obviously in pain and the area was extremely sensitive. After cleaning the area (which she also had to be held down for because of the pain he was causing her) he decided that he would have to inject the area directly with 2 different medications, but he didn't decide to sedate her for this procedure until after subjecting her to several attempts of injecting the obviously tender bite wound. I have never heard my dog-- or any dog for that matter-- make such blood curdling cries. She began bleeding quite a bit from the stabs and it was impossible to hold her down due to the pain she experienced. I mean I seriously can't explain how much pain my dog seemed to be in and the noises she made. The absolute worse sounds that I still can't get out of my head. I got so emotional from hearing these cries that I had to walk out of the room-- which I felt terribly guilty for because I hated leaving her in that room with this ungentle and uncaring doctor alone-- but I literally couldn't stay in and see that scene unfold. I came back in shortly after wanting to provide my dog much needed comfort, for the doctor to only then suggest giving her anesthesia. I'm just unbelievably shocked that he wouldn't have thought of sedating her from the beginning, from her reactions to him touching the area alone. Ive never had to put her through anything like this, she's never been sedated before but now I guess I know for the future to ask for that if I know how much discomfort she's in-- assuming other vets don't come to this obvious conclusion on their own. I didn't know what to say, how to help, or what to suggest because I assumed as a professional he would know best-- maybe not. I tried not posting this because I'm grateful for the last minute appointment but honestly after reading some of the other reviews I'm half considering going to get a second opinion from my usual vet to be safe. I will never come here again, and would suggest others do the same. I will add the only positive thing I can say is the woman at the front counter seemed to be the only one with a shred of compassion for my dog and was very friendly. She stepped in and tried her best to comfort my dog and explained to me exactly what was going on since the doctor wasn't communicating with me at all. Thank you to her, I wish I remembered your name, you were kind and gave me a tiny bit of hope in this place. ... that being said I'd still steer clear.

Wouldn't go anywhere else. Denise and Dr. Are great. Recommend them often.

Absolutely LOVE the staff, Dr. White is awesome. I live by Towne East mall & drive to the Westside just for my babies to be WELL taken care of..

Nurse was kind and Dr was helpful and knowledgeable. Patient with my angsty kitty while she got her shots. Very informative.

This has been Rio's vet for 7 years and my Locos too before I had to put him to sleep and doc has been the most down to earth and isn't afraid to take the time to teach you and allow you to be a part of what he's doing. His heart is truly about the animals. Love them! They are the best!!!

Dr White is a great friendly vet, good old fashioned customer service. Great staff and they take great care of our dogs. My Dog "Mister" never has issues going to the vet.

Mondays are open appointments and you can walk in without having to wait long. The vet and vet technicians are of the highest calibur, they will answer all your questions and help you all the way through. Best vet(s) I can recommend and best value!

I've been reading some of the comments and feel like its important to say something. Dr. White is the old fashion kind of doc that actually cares more about the animal than the money. He is not fast, thats because he takes the time to learn all he can about each and every pet. He takes the time to discuss different options of treatment with you. And if he cant treat something he will tell you and send you to someone that can. There are risk with some treatments and he willing discusses those with you. We had a crazy cat that had to be treated and it bit Doc, and he didnt yell at anybody. I felt terrible about it and they all tried to make me feel better. Dr. White is not a God and cant keep every animal from dying, but he sure tries his best to prevent it!

Very good with my animals. I have taken all my pets there. Very gentle and loving Vet. You can't go wrong going to this place..

Dr White is the BEST vet I have ever known!!!! He's reasonably priced, he has done numerous procedures on my bully. Him and his staff are top notch hands down. He has taken care of our other 2 small dogs also and was great with them. GREAT GREAT PLACE WITH GREAT PEOPLE ???????? ABSOLUTELY LOVE BEST FRIENDS PET CLINIC ????????♥️❤️

Not personable, highly disorganized, intensely unprofessional. It's probably not a violation, but it's insanely unprofessional to keep your two liter bottle of Mountain Dew in the same refrigerator you keep your vaccinations. When I arrived for a 4:00 appointment, I had to wait 30 minutes so that the Doc could argue with a scammer claiming to have antivirus fixes for his computer. I hope they don't store any credit card data on that computer. When checking out, the lady helping me didn't know how to run her credit card machine. The whole visit was a catastrophe. I'm not returning and I recommend you stay clear.

a year ago Dr. White pretty much killed my dog. My dog came in to see what was on her back and he diagnosed it as ring worm. Dr. White gave her meds for it. She had heart problems and the pills were too strong for her heart to handle. He knew she had these problems. To go on with the appointment, my dog needed her nails cut and he knicked her. She started to bleed and she ran into the lobby area and went under me where I was sitting. White came out and yelled at my mom. He said " get you f****** dog trained and dont ever come back". She was trained and actually the doctor's nurse trained her. We never came back because three days later she died. My dog was the kindest and sweetest dog. And the nurse I was talking about was not there that day and the doctor lied to her saying "the dog bit me." If you are a vet, you are going to be bite sometimes. White is not understanding of the animals he is supposed to be taking care of. I do not recommend going to Dr. White.

I love the fact that Doc is down to earth he is approachable he encourages his patients to be a part of animals care he educates and he just has the heart that is missing out of so much the field today and I feel blessed to have him as our vet and I know that my furry babies do too, and his character has shown me that he's not about the dollars or the money at all he truly has a heart for what's best for the animals:)

I think Dr white is great. He has always been friendly and concerned about my pets. I recommend him highly!! He was worked with me on hours and my pets love him.

I tale my dogs and cats to Dr. White. I like that when I call his office more often than not Doc answers the phone himself. He is strait to the point. He has never pushed unnecessary tests. He recently helped us to say goodbye to our german shepherd who had hip and elbow displasia. He came to our home to help her pass. This was a very special and sad day for us. Now we have a new pup. He has been great with him. Recently diagnosed with giardia. Doc and staff was informative, honest, and affordable. He had a great sense of humor while we were in office as well. I am very glad to have found him. Plus, he has walk in hours!

If I could give zero stars I would. Just brought my small dog to this vet, the vet told me I didn't know how to control my dog because he had scratched him. Then proceeded to tell me that he would not look at my dog again. When trying to force my dog to drink water he grabbed his mouth and pushed his head onto the table, so hard that my dog began to yelp and urinate all over himself. The amazing Dr. white then shoved a syringe into my dogs mouth, hurting his gums and making his mouth bleed. I would not recommend this pet clinic to anyone.

Great vet care with a no-nonsense approach. I trust that Dr. White is advising me on what is best for my pet, and appreciate that he doesn't push unnecessary care.
