I can't believe they've been here more then 25yrs and I didn't know. They gave excellent care to our rat, Merle. They take care of domestic animals as well. They are very knowledgeable and caring of all the animals as well as reasonable in price. I won't be taking my animals anywhere else. Love this place!!!!

My senior dog is having some balance issues. They were very supportive and gave us treatment options. Even though I couldn’t go inside they still made time to explain everything they did with him and sent me home with a plan. I’ve been with University for the last year with my almost 15 year old dog. I can’t say enough about how friendly and supportive the staff is. Every one has time to stop and greet your pet, my dogs like going there.

I can't say enough great things about University Veterinary Care Hopital. The staff and Dr. Snyder took such wonderful care of my pet rabbits and gave a thorough examination. Dr. Snyder answered my questions regarding my rabbits and I didn't feel rushed to leave. I recommend them for any pet you own! Thank you for making me feel like my buns matter and their health is important!

I have been a client for 6 years now. The staff here are awesome. I now live in Lawrence and will drive back to Topeka just for them. They are my rats' veterinarians and know their stuff.

I have been bringing my pets to University for years. Their veterinarians are top notch. I have never been disappointed with the care they give. I appreciate the thoroughness of the procedures and explanations that go with them. They treat my pets as family, like I do.

We came here to get a USDA International Pet Health Certificate to travel abroad with our dog. They were helpful, kind and got the paperwork back to us very quickly.

Amazing group of professionals! The doctor was so kind and knowledgeable! He wasn't irritated by questions. This was a sincere group of people and put our minds at ease regarding our guinea pig!! Thank you!

These guys have been amazing all the years I've been going! They always get me in quickly for concerns and have so many different service options for keeping dogs in peak condition that a lot of other vets don't have. They are also great with my dog who is nervous and give her plenty of warm up time! ????

I cannot say enough great things about the staff at University Vet Care Center. They are extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and responsive. They truly care about your pets and treat them like their own. They are also extremely versatile in their services from routine vet care, stem cell expertise, chiropractic care, rehabilitation, acupuncture and cold laser therapy. What a gem to have in Topeka, KS!!!

Dr.Synder is great. Everyone else there is not professional. They will terminate you from their office if they don't like you so "buyer beware"!!

Dr Gratton, Dr Guernsey, and Rose are amazing. They saved my bunnies life. They could tell how worried I was and reassured me and were very patient. I’m so grateful for them.

Great vet, very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Admittedly, a bit more expensive than a rural or small-town veterinary; however, you can see an itemized list/receipt at any time. They are well worth the money! I can usually get appointments quickly and staff answers any questions I have.

They are so patient and kind with all my animals. Anytime I bring my pets in to see their doctors my fur babies do not freak out. They actually enjoy the attention they get; beside shots but who enjoys those right. However, my babies don't hold grudges. The staff is so friendly and very helpful with any questions or concerns you may have, and do their utmost to get you help. I live an hour away but, do not mind making the trip and spending a little more time and money to get the top notch care for my pets! ❤

Took my bearded dragon here because of a discolored tail. They were super thorough, checking other areas of him before deciding what it could be. 10/10 recommend.

I would not recommend this place unless you want to be overcharged. This clinic does not adhere to Informed Consent guidelines and they failed to disclose the full extent of what was required to help my dog. They could not provide me with a quote prior to the procedure but proceeded to charge me a ridiculous amount (an Internet search confirmed I was significantly overcharged for what was done). I was later informed that only part of the procedure was completed and that I would have to bring my dog back in for an additional procedure. They did not disclose that the dog would require two procedures and that I would be charged for both. I should have been provided with this information before we started the first procedure. In the end, my dog was left with a port in her ear and I had it removed at a more reputable vet clinic for $14. University vet wanted to sedate my dog and charge me several hundred dollars to remove the same port. I would not recommend this clinic.

The choice of a veterinary clinic is as important as any care health care decision I would make for myself. Cheyenne is family. I was vacationing in Colorado prior to this appointment and a friend's dog ingested some gasoline. It was on a Sunday but she called her vet clinic hoping to be referred to someone on-call. Instead, she got an answering machine. I then called University and was quickly connected to a veterinarian on call who was most helpful in helping my friend through this crisis even though her dog was not a University patient. When I arrive home, my own dog was scratching at her ears and let out a yelp. The clinic scheduled an appointment two hours later. Dr. Aker was able to skillfully get a significantly more debris out Cheyenne's ear than I did after multiple attempts. She then applied antibiotic drops and prescribed a steroid which will no doubt bring both ears back to health. Cheyenne was a model patient thanks to Dr. Aker and her assistant's compassionate handling of my dog.

I called last week to get my sick bearded dragon in. The call was placed in Monday. They said to bring him in the following Monday to be seen. He was foaming at the mouth. Not breathing properly, not eating or drinking. He had a respiratory infection... I told them. All of this. When the called Friday to confrim my appointment I told them if he was stil alive we would be there. Suddenly no appointment needed. They got him in on Friday. He died sunday.. lack of responsiveness cost my dragon his life. 0 out of 10 would not recomend.

We are so pleased to have switched our pet care to University Veterinary Care. We had our first visit there with one of our pets and found the visit to be as pleasant as could be with a scared cat in tow. The entire staff was warm and caring and took such good care of our kitty. The whole visit was handled smoothly with a modified Covid protocol that worked well. The attention we received from the doctor and other members of staff assured us we were getting good care for our kitty and our questions were answered with expertise. The lab work was done onsite and we had the results within 10 minutes so we were able to leave knowing the current state of our pet's health. The experience left us feeling sure we had made the correct decision in taking our pets there.

Staff seemed friendly over the phone, but I did not receive a call back with the information i asked about, regarding what I contacted them for. Ended up calling my old vet in another city.

This is the best veterinary clinic I have had the pleasure of experiencing. I have lived in a few other states prior to Kansas and during this time I had my first dog, a 10 month old Papillon. When I moved here years ago, I came across this place and they have taken the best care of my little guy who is now 10 years old. They are patient, understanding, and are extremely flexible with your schedule.

I filled out an appointment request on a Thursday night because I had noticed my baby guinea pig was getting an upper respiratory infection. Their next available appt wasn’t until the following Tuesday, so I left a picture and comment of what was going on. I received a phone call early the next morning stating that URI’s can be serious in guinea pigs and offered appt later that day. I did have to wait awhile to be seen but was kept updated via text(with COVID precautions still in place) and they did fit me in on short notice. The staff was very friendly and informative and my guinea pig was already feeling better that evening.

I cannot say enough good things about University Veterinary Care Center, PA. I had a emergency with one of my dogs on Saturday March 27th. I called that morning and they were able to get me in right away. I also had another emergency with the same dog on the following Tuesday and again, they were extremely responsive, and professional. They took great care of my dog, and had genuine compassion for her wellbeing. I couldn't ask for a better vet or staff to work with. I would recommend them to anyone hands down. They are the best.
