These guys call themselves Doctors. Funny ,I've never known a doctor to write an estimate first and then want a deposit before treating a patient. Despicable thieves !

Thank you so very much for taking care of my lil Kahlua! So thankful for everyone there and for being so compassionate. She’s doing better today, I hope with the help from you and BS hospital she continues to improve. Her lil IV she doesn’t like, hopefully she can get it out Monday. Thank you again, and Happy New Year.

I was visiting my family in Missouri. The day before we were to go home to North Dakota my Westie Terrier unexpectedly became very sick. I took him to BluePearl Veterinary in Lees Summit. Freeway was seen by Dr. Duffy. Unfortunately they were not able to save him. He had an autoimmune deficiency disorder. These folks were so patient and caring towards us. Dr. Duffy explained to me what was happening to Freeway, she had to explain it a couple of times because I was so distraught. They allowed me to hold Freeway for as long as I needed to to say goodbye. 2hours later I was ready to let him go. Once he passed I held him for another 15 minutes. The Dr. was so compassionate and caring. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I had him cremated and BluePearl sent him to Rolling Acres in Kansas City. By the way also an awesome company. For an emergency vet I thought the charges were fair. Thank you BluePearl for taking such good care of us.

Brought my dog here with rapid breathing, lethargic and vomiting. Drove 2 hours to get there too. Was charged $325 , (and paid cash),, to be told my dogs vitals were normal. No fever, heart rate was good and that his rapid breathing was due to pain. They gave him a shot of Reglan for vomiting, morphine for pain a prescription of antibiotics for a "Mild" case of gastroenteritis(upset stomach). Was advised to take him to our local vet the next morning to get xrays and bloodwork because it was very expensive there. 3x a normal amount because they were an emergency hospital. My dog lasted 6 hours after I left there..Shame on all of you for making us small town people feel any less than your high society neighborhood!!! Will NEVER recommend this place, who is only worried about money and not your dog!!! Yes I'm bitter, Stitch dog was my bestfriend!!! That 1 star is for the receptionist, the only caring heart there.

I have no idea how any of these individuals sleep at night. They could care less about your pet. What concerns them is money. It's disgusting. My kitten died after I brought her home and They refused to treat her because I couldn't give them money up front. All of the resources were available to them right there to make her better... She would have lived. Even if it meant that I never got her back I would have gave her up to let her live. If I would have left her there they would have euthanized her. Again, having all the resources and Means to make her trying to keep this short. But I question Why did any of the people employed there choose a career in veterinary medicine to begin with? Is it because they wanted to save animals? No, they want to save animals as long as they have owners who have a ridiculous amount of money. They exploit the fact that anyone who loves their pet would do whatever it took to make then better. Oh I should mention too, their bedside manner is atrocious. Go anywhere but here.

I’ve used Blue Pearl on two different occasions. If you’re in an emergency situation and time is of the essence, Blue Pearl could help you and your pet. However, there’s a clear emphasis on running any and all available, pricey diagnostics, whether common sense and the situation warrant it or not. They should consider rebranding themselves to “Blue Paycheck.” Ask lots of questions… don’t assume they will recommend what your pet actually needs.

Our old kitty had a terrible accident while we were out of town and we were fully convinced she wouldn't make it. Thankfully, we received a recommendation for this place and they treated us and her like one of the family, taking her at an ungodly hour and showing her the same care we would want to give her ourselves. We are so grateful for this business and I recommend them to anyone needing emergency pet care!

Absolutely the worst bedside/animal care I’ve ever witnessed. If you have any option and live in Jackson County do not come to BluePearl. The doctor was congenial, Put paint a picture like an artist in a tragedy. The staff is horrific, . Pricing is like losing a family member and going to a morgue and you have no option. Do you’re a favor and Stay away

The Vet we saw was amazing! She was very thorough and gave lots of options on what it could be ranging from the normal to the not so normal. Which some people may not like however you want someone who will think of the extreme because if it is they will be prepared for it. She gave us a list of recommendations for diagnosis, which we then were able to pick which ones we agreed with should be done and felt comfortable with. We did fall underneath the estamates price which still was high but it is an emergency vet. The wait was long, however there were a lot of pets that needed higher treatment that came in and I rather they treat those dogs than my dog with diarrhea!

Saved my dog's life. What more is there to say? Was it expensive? Yes. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat. We expected my dog to die and I'm writing this over 10 months later. He's happy, playful, and more than anything alive and well. He was cared for by Shannon S, Jennifer S, Kendra W, and Jacob K. I never met these 4 people because of the pandemic; I simply found their names written on his charts and am thankful they saved my dog's life.

Awful service. I called about my dogs bloody nose seeking advice and all the “help” I got was them just taking my name and number down saying they’d call back. Not only did I not receive a call back as I was told but when I called back frustrated and seeking help I was told “we have too many animals and not enough hands. We can’t help.” If you have ANY better options even if it’s a bit further go there.

While camping over an hour away our dog become extremely sick. I had no cell service and couldn't call, I was a frantic mess. Needless to say she made it to Lee's Summit and they got her right in. The only negative, we had to wait in the waiting room not with our dog. Otherwise they saved the day. I would absolutely go back.

I was lied to by staff from the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out. My animal was potentially dying (still might) and they felt like they should care for the other animals listed as a low priority above mine that they listed as a high priority. Received no updates without asking for it. I am LIVID !

Dr. McKee was so patient and respectful of my cat. She was an absolute ally, mirroring my behavior around my sick kitty and giving me straight and honest answers. Absolutely the person we needed to see. My cat is a demon from hell any time we go to the vet, and he's old, so a heart attack is a legitimate risk. I just can't gush enough, she was exactly who we needed to see. She calmed me down and got my kitty the help he needed.

I brought my pet in earlier this week and she is doing much better and for that I am so grateful! I knew the visit would be expensive, and was very stressed about that, but how do you make that choice as an animal person? Obviously the pet is coming first. So we show up and are advised that it could be anywhere from 2 to 6 hours before my pet and I see a doctor, even with my dog having heat stroke. It was about two hours when we were called back and the doctor immediately told me that my pet's hospital stay would be on the "hefty" side. When I asked if they did payment plans, she handed me a care credit brochure and told me to apply even though I had said I wasn't sure I would get approved. She said if I didn't they would adjust my pet's treatment plan based on the money I had ($300...a consultation was $150 alone.) Luckily, I got approved for what I thought would be a good amount. They let me know they adjusted the treatment plan to fall into that range but said if she needed a plasma treatment it would be another $1800 that I would have to come up with and to "ask around to see if my family could loan me anything". I was signing the treatment paperwork and they asked me the hardest question, if I wanted them to perform CPR if needed, I said yes of course and she follows that up with "well, it's another $500-$600if its needed". After my pet was discharged in the morning, there wasn't any discharge instructions provided to me, besides to take her to the normal vet after that. Again, so grateful that my pet is okay. But they can get away with charging these outrageous prices because they're the only emergency vet close to lee's summit. If it's not truly urgent, wait it out and save yourself the $1500 and take your pet to their normal vet.

DO NOT GO HERE EVER. This place is the worst animal hospital I’ve been to. Waited 5 hours for them to never even check on my pet. They were rude when I questioned what was taking so long and still charged me for the visit even though I took my pet and left after never being seen by a vet.

This staff was amazing. It is a little pricey compared to a normal vet like other reviewers say, but that's too be expected with any emergency service, and they were very upfront with me about plans and pricing. They're also thorough and helped us get through the night with a critical issue. Highly recommend

Long wait. They did help our dog after a bark collar messed him up (DO NOT USE THOSE!) they gave a lot of ‘worse case’ scenarios (probably too many). But our pup is healthy and we thank them greatly! Pricing was very good.

This place is super expensive. I sadly had to put my pet down as she was old. They charged 4x what my vet would have cost, for euthanasia and creamation.

After reading the reviews i understand that the reviews regarding convenience and money are important but the reality is this is the Only main 24 hour emergency vet facility around for miles for many of us. For our situation had we waited for our normal vet to open we would have lost our family member our dog. my corgi had ingested rat poison accidently so time was NOT on our side in this situation. with poison the clock starts ticking immediately. Yes this place is not cheap, but i am grateful for the help of my family to pitch in in order to save our beloved pet and we are just Very grateful to even have a place like this nearby to save him. Thank you Blue Pearl of Lee's Summit MO.

Took my 8 year old dog in today for a possible UTI. Got there a little after 2:00 and was told the wait would be 2-3 hours. At 5:00 I called them and she hadn’t even been seen yet! She was stuck in a kennel with nothing happening to her. The doctor FINALLY called me back at 6:00 to confirm she had a UTI (we even provided the urine sample for them to help expedite the visit). He then said someone would call me in 10-15 minutes to go over the medication instructions with me. At 6:45 I called them again and was on hold 12 minutes before someone could help me! 5 hours after arriving and I was finally allowed to get my dog, they brought her to another couple who were there to pick up their dog! What a joke! That was my first and last time there. Lesson learned!!!

This place and their employees were very professional. Everyone had great communication, they were understanding, and very helpful. Thank you for being so great! Other than the prices (which is understandable since its an emergency vet) I would recommend this place.

Understaffed and insufficient We waiting five hours to be seen after our dog was attacked by another dog. Once he was finally able to be seen staff stitched one of his wounds and sent him home. A week later after swelling did not subside we took him to our normal vet who found numerous wounds that went undiagnosed that had become infected, will avoid Blue Pearl in the future if at all possible.

If there was no stars available I would give that. Super unprofessional and blew the WHOLE situation out of proportion. Will take your entire bank account. I was told 3%-5% of animals have a positive outcome from that hospital.

Terrible staff. Everyone was very rude. They called me and told me my cat was pretty much dying when i came in he was pretty beat up but not dying. They seemed very confused about everything. I was very uncomfortable leaving my cat with them even for just a few hours. They called to give me an update but had no answers and still very confused. Also very overpriced. He went to his normal vet when they opened the next morning and they charged less than half and did way more for him.
