I cannot thank Dr Davis enough for what she did for my little 14 year old dog Kramer. He had had a previous surgery at another veterinarian that removed 50% of his upper eye lid. He was in so much pain and I really believe I may have had to …

First - I never write reviews but this is important. It's extremely difficult to find a specialist like this where I live in Illinois so I had to search. My dog had a very deep corneal ulcer and was at risk for corneal rupture. I had been to another opthamologist for my dog and the experience left me feeling defeated and sad. For a month I put in 5 different eye drops 4 times/day which was miserable for both of us and the ulcer was only getting worse. She was in pain, not interested in eating, and generally not herself. She just turned 14 but still has a great personality and lots of life left. I just want her to have the best quality of life she can since she has given so much to me.The only option locally was to have her eye removed so I took a chance and decided to get another opinion and am so gratefui to Dr. Davis and her staff. We had surgery scheduled within a week and I had all my questions and concerns addressed. They are all kind, personable and professional. They are also well organized and efficient so always on time. I receive a complete discharge summary by email immediately after each visit. It has now been 2 weeks since her corneal transplant and conjunctival graft and she is doing great. She eats well and walks with bounce in her step. I am SO grateful to have her back to her old self again and SO grateful to Dr. Davis and her staff.

Our 12 and a half year old dog was referred to Dr. Rachel Davis at Animal Eye Clinic for an eye infection. The minute we walked in to this office waiting area, we could feel the love and caring right away. Every member of the staff was warm and welcoming. Dr. Davis was kind, understanding and professional. The treatment for our dog's eye was spot on and she is as good as new. Highly recommend Dr. Rachel Davis and her staff for the care of your pet's eyes!

We are so thankful to Dr Davis and staff in taking such great care of our Chihuahua Willow who was born with an eye issue. They check in on Willow regularly and make sure she’s comfortable and doing well. They are super responsive and care about their canine clients ❤️

Top notch all the way! I was so impressed with the staff, facility and the care. After 2 trips to my regular vet for my dog with an eye issue and no resolve I decided to go to the Animal Eye Clinic. Within a short amount of time he was diagnosed correctly and given the right medication and is now on the road to recovery. Thank you to everyone at The Animal Eye Clinic!

Dr. Davis and her entire staff were professional, kind and attentive. My Pia had an ulcer on her eye which was treated by our vet. After a couple weeks I decided I needed to find a specialist. Dr. Davis performed a procedure to clear debris from Pia's ulcer. It healed within a week. I wish, wholeheartedly, Dr. Davis was able to see my fur babies for all their veterinarian care!

First-If you were referred to Animal Eye Clinic-Dr Rachel Davis by your pets regular Vet-CONSIDER ANOTHER OPTION IMMEDIATELY! Dr Davis's staff is phenominal-Dr Davis-NOT SO MUCH..... Our pet's regular Vet referred us to Dr Davis for an eye condition we were having trouble resolving. Our pet's Vet sent the referral and paperwork to Dr Davis to review. We filled out forms that are online and made the appointment for our pet. At our initial visit and answering questions that the Vet Tech asked us Dr David came in and examined our pet's eyes. Dr Davis came in and in less than 5 minutes had a diagnosis and suggested a treatment of Oral medications. Said the issue with our pet was "auto-immune" related. Dr Davis said we should see immediate results with our pet's issue and after a month we would re-evaluate and start reducing the dosage of both medications-one was a Steroid and the other an Immune-Modulating Agent both of which have serious side effects. Asked us to return in 1 month for follow up visit. 2nd Visit One Month later-Vet Tech came in and asked if there were any issues with our pet. I told them our pet was occasionally throwing up and had diarrhea every day after dosing the the Immune Modulating drug. I could tell my pet just didn't feel good. Dr Davis suggested we contact our pet's regular vet to recommend how to treat the vomiting/diarrhea issue, Her statement made no sense to us as she was the one who prescribed the medication(s). Dr Davis then said our pet looked better and reduced dosage of both medications. Asked to see our pet again in 3-4 months. 3rd Visit-3 Months later-Vet Tech came in first again and asked if there were any issues. I AGAIN stated our pet was still occasionally throwing up and having diarrhea. Dr Davis came in after that looked at my pet's eyes said the issue was flaring up again and wanted to increase dosage of one of the medications. I glanced over at my spouse which Dr Davis "read" as I was NOT happy with this recommendation. She said we needed to get my pets condition under control and that my pet would probably be on meds the rest of their life. I again stated our pet was having issues with vomiting and diarrhea. At that point it was clear Dr Davis was irritated with both me and my spouse and she again suggested consulting with our regular vet about putting our pet on a probiotic. I then replied our pet HAS BEEN on a probiotic for 2 years. After my comment her whole demeaner changed and Dr Davis said she was referring us out to another Opthalmologist for a 2nd opinion and left the room. It was then VERY obvious to us that she was done with us/our pet and couldn't get us checked out fast enough. 2 Months AFTER last visit with Dr Davis- took our pet for 2nd opinion. New Vet reviewed paperwork sent by Dr Davis. Vet Tech came out and took our pet inside-exam only took about 5 minutes. This Vet concurred with Dr Davis's diagnosis. I expressed my concerns with the medications my pet was on BEFORE this appointment so they could be relayed to the Vet. The Vet then said "NO offense to other Vet (Dr Davis) but I've NEVER treated this condition with oral medications and told us to immediately stop giving my pet one of them. We will gradually reduce the other. The Vet was said we could treat this with non-steroidal drops. Needless to say I was in SHOCK and relieved. I'm so glad we sought the 2nd opinion. My spouse and I have had dogs for over 30 years and have dealt with alot of different medical issues ie cancer, epilepsy etc and have seen what medications can do over a long period of time. Dr Davis talked "down" to us and treated us like we were stupid and that's just NOT ACCEPTABLE!! It was VERY clear to us that Dr Davis did NOT care about our pets health/wellbeing.. ALWAYS seek 2nd opinion if you're not happy with answers given. Dr Davis-DO NOT reply to this review. You just place blame on the pet owner and NOT take responsibility.. SHAME ON YOU!! Word of mouth is powerful....

In a few short months my dog ???? was diagnosed with diabetes and cataracts. Before I knew it, she couldn't see???? I thought it was the end of the world. Took her to the doctor, she had surgery, and is walking around acting like everything is just fine. Very happy with the staff, the professionalism and the outcome. Would highly recommend.

I can not say enough positive things about Dr. Davis and her amazing team! They took wonderful care of my fur baby and even after her passing they sent the most thoughtful card. It brought tears to my eyes. Such a wonderful group!

I took Zorro, my yorkiepoo, to Animal eye clinic which they did a procedure on an ulcer on his eye. He has dry eye disease so it’s likely that another ulcer could come back. Everything went well and I had a follow up appointment which I asked them if he had to come in for and they said it was up to me as the pet owner. He was doing great so I decided not to take him in for the follow up. About a year later the other eye looked to have a spot on it and Zorro began squinting in pain. I made an appointment which they could not see him for 3 weeks. I was told over the phone by my regular vet in Carmel who referred me to Animal eye clinic that this can be common to get another superficial ulcer and to treat it with the antibacterial medication to see if it helps which I already had from previous ulcers on his eye. I was told this is how they are normally treated and to see if it goes away. In the meantime I got the flu and was running a fever and so I cancelled this appointment. I immediately scheduled another appointment which was another 3 weeks away. On the day of the appointment I was informed that they would no longer treat or see Zorro. I am a responsible pet owner and work in a hospital myself. I understand I cancelled one appointment due to being sick and made the decision to not come in for the follow up. I was told they sent me a letter telling me they would no longer see Zorro a couple weeks prior to this which I never received. Why did they allow me to make the appointment in the first place and then decide to send me a letter saying they weren’t ever going to see him again? I would never refuse to treat a pet due to a cancellation. I could have been charged or warned about this that after one cancellation they drop you as a patient. Again, I was sick and felt that cancelling was the right thing to do at the time. I guess I was wrong. I have never in my life been refused so quickly and dropped by any doctor or veterinarian. It’s unfortunate and sad to have been treated this way. I feel so bad for Zorro and will now have to take him to Purdue ophthalmology over an hour away. Very sad and disappointing.

We brought in my 12 year old Australian Shepherd here, due to her autoimmune eye disease. The doctor put my dog on medicine and we noticed that she quickly started to act very strange so we called the doctor to tell her what was happening and she claimed that it wasn't due to the medicine even though according to google, the side affects of the medicine matched what was happening with my dog. Also, while on our google search, we discovered that the doctor overdosed my dog with medicine. My dog is roughly 45 pounds and she was given the amount of medicine for a much heavier dog. So, we lowered the dosage ourselves. Later on in the year we went to our normal vet to get bloodwork done and were discussing what meds my dog was on. Turns out, the medicine that she was put on was causing complications for her due to her age, AND there was a cheaper topical version of that medicine that would not cause all of the negative side affects that the other medicine caused. Our regular vet called the eye doctor to see if there was a reason why she decided to put and keep my dog on those meds since it was clearly causing some other issues with my dog. The eye doc once again claimed that it was not the medicine that is causing issues. We ended up switching to the topical version of the medicine and my dog is finally back to normal. The doctor needs to realize that some medicines that have worked for past patients might not work for others. I understand that it might take some trial and error to figure out what works however, it will be impossible to eventually come up with a solution if she is not willing to have an adult conversation with the owners and other veterinarians.

We took our dog who had suddenly gone blind to see Dr. Davis for an eye examination thinking it was cataracts. Dr. Davis was great at our first visit and very helpful and ultimately diagnosed her with SARDS. We were bummed after this diagnosis so we did some research and found a successful clinical trial in Iowa with one of the top doctors that is doing a study that has had good luck in restoring some of the vision loss as well as slow the progression of the disease. After the procedure we were told to have a general follow up visit with our local Ophthalmologist (who had initially diagnosed her) within two weeks. We emailed to set this up and we were met with brashness/rudeness and refusal of a general follow up appointment to recheck the eyes from both Jordan and Dr. Davis for no apparent reason. The clinic in Iowa sent them the very general recheck items needed that are standard for any ophthalmologist to perform after speaking to a different local Ophthalmologist who has no problem seeing her for the recheck next week. I'm not sure where the disconnect is but will never recommend this place nor take any of my pets here!

Dr. Davis is a fantastic animal Eye surgeon and specialist. Highly trained and exquisitely educated. She, in addition to her Opthalmology residency, also has earned a master's degree in the biology and basic science research of the eye. She explained the complex problems with my blind adopted dog. I really believe that she recommends what is best for the dog, not just what will be the most profitable for her practice. Compassionate, good communicator, steady. This is my dogs eye clinic from here on out, exclusively.

We went to Animal Eye Clinic about a year ago when our diabetic schnauzer needed his cataracts removed. He got them removed and he was an entirely new dog. He was so happy to be able to see again. We had a couple issues with fatty deposits in his eyes and each time we had that issue, they wanted us to come back. Animal Eye Clinic really cares about you pets almost as much as you do. The entire staff was wonderful. I'm actually sad to say we won't be going back anytime soon as our beloved schnauzer passed away a couple weeks before Christmas. We chose to donate the medicine back to the eye clinic and after I made the hard call not a week later we got a card in the mail. The entire staff had individually wrote out some very nice words to us about our dog. I would 100% always recommend this clinic to whoever needed pet eye care. Dr. Davis was the most informed doctor I have been around lately. She was a wonderful lady.

Animal Eye Clinic did surgery on my 16 year old Boston Terrier yesterday. He had ruptured his cornea. I was obviously very nervous to have him put under anesthesia but Dr. Davis and her team were very comforting. I asked many questions and they patiently answered them all. They even stayed late to perform his emergency surgery. The procedure has been successful to this point. I was extremely impressed with Dr. Davis's vet tech. She was knowledgeable and I felt comfortable with her instructions. Even their receptionists were friendly and accommodating. Their office is beautiful too.
