Recently we went to look at cats. Being a previous owner of more than a few I knew what to expect. The experience was decent and the staff friendly but I feel they are clearly overwhelmed also. I feel for them, that’s got to be a hard job emotionally. We took a 3 month old kitten off their hands. Since the kiddo is on a 2 week fall break her and the cat have been bonding rapidly also. Thanks! This guy came with his shots, a clean bill of health, and micro chipped.

Recently adopted a cat from here a couple months ago formerly known as princess but her name has been changed to Willow. I was able to set up an appointment online to visit her and the process was nice and easy. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and they truly care about getting these babies into a loving home! She came already vaccinated, spayed and with proper medication for flea/tick and heart worm and was very little cost for adoption fee. I highly recommend choosing to adopt from here if you are in search of a pet. They make the process painless and it is such a heartwarming feeling knowing you’re brightening the life of a pet. She has settled in wonderfully and you can tell she enjoys her life here with us so much now ????

Please see photo. The hours posted are not accurate. There were no staff present when we came by to drop off donations. No one answered the phones and no one called back. It’s open 12-4 on weekdays and Saturday. Over the last few decades I’ve adopted pets and donated. Friendly and helpful staff.

The staff is dedicated to helping place each homeless pet in the safest and loving hopefully furever home they can.....they apparently have staff in charge of entertainment...personality profiles and photo sessions .... even videos of these adorable creatures in action....and the facility is equipped with a friendly cat room and an outdoor area for exercise for dogs.......they shower them with affection and this helps determine the perfect fit ..they coordinate with the feeders supply on state street to house some feline furbabies so people can meet them while shopping...they are as close to perfect as an Animal shelter can be .

I'm so glad I came to this shelter to adopt my adorable cat Lily. I was 18 and in highschool and Lily was 6 months when I adopted her. I wasn't really looking for such a young kitten but when I opened her cage she rolled out of it and (thankfully) into my arms! They let me take her home the same day, the process of adopting her was very easy and she was also just spayed and microchipped which I thought was awesome. I also felt a big responsibility to take care of her when I actually had to sign the paperwork! She is the sweetest, and has an energetic personality, it hasn't changed since I've gotten her, she is now almost 5 years old. We have such a good bond, and I am happy she is always by my side. Adopting Lily was the best decision I made as a young adult, I'll never regret it.♥️

I adopted a cat from them after our other one passed away which we also got from there. The staff each time was super nice and helpful, thank you all so much since I live about 45 minutes north of you.

the love and care that they show animals is unbelievable the animal shelters funded by people's donations and I can't understand how people would not treat animals with love and care thanks for the animal shelter there's animals taken off the street during the cold winter months if you get a chance to donate to your local animal shelter you could save a quatre dog's life maybe a ferret a parrot a chicken or rooster

Only way to get a dog park pass is through the shelter that closes everyday by 4:30. This makes it difficult for me to get a pass. They are not helpful.

I called three different times, spoke to three different people, and got nothing but the run around. Completely useless shelter.

My husband and myself adopted a sweet beautiful female cat today who's name was Bright Eyes and we have decided to change her name to Luna. She is very playful and affectionate. She is in love with our 5yr old grandson as he is with her. The adoption process was simple and the folks working there were very informative , helpful and friendly.

I had a situation today that my goat was missing from my yard and I look all over and I thought to call the animal control and sure someone took her there ,and I got there sure was her and the women's over there they asking me to pay $85 dollars for my own animal that was missing just 1 hour is that not corruption? Yes it is my son was crying so the way home and I don't know what to do with him because that was his best friend. Do you think they care about my child? No they ware mean and rude with him. My son is only 6 years old and he beg them to give his goat back her reproce was "GO TO YOUR MOTHER" I was just 2 staps away behind him. How do I feel? Do you think they care about the animals over there if there attitude was like that with us? For me and my son what they did is called Stiling

Such a great shelter. The staff truly cares about each animal and wants to find them the best "fur"ever home that they can. They make sure each animal is tested, spayed or neutered, chipped and vaccinated before they go up for adoption so that there is no wait period. It's a clean facility and they are cautious to keep the animals healthy. They occasionally run specials to get more pets adopted when it gets crowded. They do need to be more active with social media. Another nearby shelter posts a photo of each new animal up for adoption and that gets lots of likes and shares and seems to really help find them homes quickly and that is the ultimate goal.

The people who work here are smart a**es and liers. I called 3 times looking for my cat and was told "No cat fit that description" and returned( this past Saturday to find out she's was there and had been there since January 23rd and after talking to the director who is very rude I had to give up on getting my baby back. LIERS

Should be called Floyd County (except for Greenville Bc they don't give us money) shelter. Two strays were brought to them in Winter but Bc they were found in Greenville (which is floyd county) and they refused them. They said set them back out in cold. Disgusting. But, I guess that's what I should expect from a shelter that has a Frenchie breeder as a director.

I used to volunteer here a few years ago. I never had a problem with the staff or kids I worked with. They take the best care of the animals they can with what they have. They make the best out of what they can do. I've adopted one dog here and had to take her back a few days later due to her destructive behavior. Not only did she tear up all my books, chewed up my best friends Wii sensor, I cleaned up her poop at least 3 times a day ( shelter said she was house trained. That was a lie) , she peed all over the carpet, she tore up numerous video games and dvds, and started digging in the carpet. I feel like I had no choice but to take her back. I live in an apartment and couldn't keep up due to work and I'm the only one in my home with a car so I'm everybody's taxi. I got her on a Friday and brought her back the following Monday. The lady said it was fine and asked me why, and I explained how destructive she was. I couldn't keep her in a crate her whole life, and she had growled and shown her teeth to a few strangers and bit me once. The shelter took her back and then told me I couldn't adopt another animal from there for a year unless I spoke to the manager. So I came back and asked to view the cats and they showed me and I adopted one and took him home. He's in great health, no problems, litter trained very well, knows his name, and loves to cuddle and lay with me. What I don't understand is why they have that rule when I basically had no choice but to take the dog back? And I don't understand why I couldn't get a refund. They weren't rude. Just confusing and have odd rules.
