I was visiting in Louisville. The doctor saw me at the last minute and was very knowledgeable and helpful. If I lived there, I would definitely go back. You can't go wrong.

The vet here is very nice and gentle with the animals. However I am not impressed with the knowledge he has of different breeds of dogs. I have a husky and I have only been able to get general information since getting her at about nine weeks old from a puppy mill badly attacked from another mother dog they had there (not her mother). Anyway, all that aside I like the vet- he’s sweet, and I can get the information from a professional that knows Huskies if I need to. I am extremely displeased with one of the aids however. I called to inquire about having my husky spayed although she had already started heat. I think the timeline (or age when I got her) got mixed up, because I was expecting her to go into heat for at least another month. I explained that she was already going into heat, I asked her how long she would be in heat and she said “I have no idea”, before saying “it’s going to cost extra if she’s going through all that, {rude tone} especially if she’s pregnant”.??!! WTH. So unprofessional, I am going to switch vets. Too bad.

Love our animal hospital. They're always on time which saves me time. My dogs don't mind going as well.

I'm truly shocked and upset after how I was treated today over the phone by the vet. He was rude, disrespectful and demeaning and then hung up on me. I don't understand how someone with so many positive reviews could have acted that way. I would never trust him with my animals or any others.

They always treat my pet and me with compassion and dignity.

Always friendly and helpful. Best prices. I drive past 2 other vets to go here.

Dr Mitchell is great! I cannot say enough good things about how well he cared for my cat. He saved his lifeI. am very grateful to have him as my vet. I recommend him.

It's like going back in time when the doctor patient relationships meant something. Dr Mitchell knows his stuff and won't corporate your experience like Blue Pearl

I have taken many of my animals to Dr. Mitchell over the years. The staff is always nice and professional. Prices are competitive. My only issue is that they take the dog to the back to give their shots. But I guess they think the dog will do better without their owner present.

Both me and my little dog love Westport Animal Hospital. The staff are peaceful, compassionate, happy and gentle. That matters to me and my dog. The Vetranarian is Purdue trained and highly skilled. I appreciate that he personally does all the immunizations and nail trims himself. I trust that! The care is superb and the prices are very reasonable. It is a VERY professional practice. I highly recommend!!

The veterinarian was super kind, extremely knowledgeable, informative, and has affordable prices. I will continue all of our services for my tiny poodle/ terrier who is 15 years old. We recently moved from IL to KY and I was really worried with how she would handle a new vet. He was amazing!

Sadly, my veterinarian of many years passed this past winter. A friend recommended Westport Animal Hospital to me, so when my old basset-bully mix seemed to be having some serious issues, I made an appointment with Dr. Enk. After we returned home from the vet, Otis, my four legged companion, lept his last leap from the back of the suv. I tried to catch him but his back legs landed hard. Later that night his legs gave out completely and it was clear he had a bad spinal injury. I took him back to Dr. Enk the next day. I knew when she shook her head that was it. Many vets won’t even let you in the door with your pets right now. Dr. Enk was so kind and compassionate. We called in the family, said our goodbyes and we’re allowed to remain with Otis and grieve. We decided to stay with the practice and brought out other pets in when needed. We have been very satisfied with the family practice feel of Westport and the way they have treated our pets and us! Thank you

Best vet in town! They truly care about the animals. Both the veterinarians are very friendly and knowledgeable with many years of experience. I have had six dogs under their care from puppies to seniors for a number of ailments. They give accurate advice and diagnosis. I would not take my fur children anywhere else.

Dr Mitchell and his daughter are above and beyond the best. The entire staff is a blessing

Dr. Mitchell is the quintessential small town veterinarian who knows his stuff and doesn't try to charge for unnecessary procedures. As he said during our last visit, "I believe in simple until it is proven otherwise." We switched from a nearby practice several years ago and have not regretted it one bit.

The Dr. is such a great guy. Really caring and is also a straight shooter, but respects your decisions too. Highly recommend.
