I don't even know where to start there are soo many positives with this particular humane society. The units were meticulously clean with no bleach odor. Each unit had toys, elevated beds, blankets food and water and individual outdoor runs for each dog with immediate access. Our dog was clean, spade, updated vaccines, on heartworm meds and even microchipped! She was sent home with a large, new bag of 5 star dog kibble...compliments of Chewy.com And Subaru provided a bark box which was loaded to the brim with 2 nice toys, lead, collapsible water bowl, antibacterial wipes and that's just the start of it! This place goes all out for their canines, unlike anything we have EVER experienced. 5 stars simply doesn't do these wonderful people justice! Looking for a family member, this is where you need to go!

All workers were very nice. Several puppies and adult dogs to be adopted. We adopted a 4 month old rescue brought in from Mississippi. She is adjusting well to her new forever home.

Friendly caring staff, clean and spacious facility. We adopted an adult cat who it was obvious the staff were invested in and rooting for.

We wanted to give two animals a great home told us we couldn't because the two might bond to closely with each other. Poor babies need homes and they don't allow more than one pet to be adopted

Kentucky Humane Society is probably one of the BEST organizations around when it comes to the animals! They are compassionate and caring. They are such a GREAT asset to our community!

I went there to adopt two puppies at once, and was told no from the door, because if you adopt two puppies at once that will cause the puppies to bond with themselves not me, which leads to behavior issues, they wouldn't watch as, walk around the building with as, just told me to go find a dog, and take the dog to the meet and greet area myself. After several attempts to get them to help me, I did as they asked me to do, I took the dog out of the cage myself, the dog scratched me, I lost control of the dog, and ran down the hallway, you really can go in this place, and let all the dogs out of the cages at once, because they are not watching you, or walking around with you, I had to go down the hallway to let them know the dog scratched me, and is lose in the hallway, there was an older woman with short gray brown hair in a bun come down the hallway screaming, and yelling at me that she refused to adopt to me, and ignored my scratch from the dog. She needs to learn customers service, you don't let people roam freely, refuse to help them, and tell them to get the animals out of the cages yourself, then scream, and yell at them when the animal hurts them. We went to another shelter, and was turned away, and refused to let as adopt from them, because this awful women called the shelter to tell them not to adopt to me. That is wrong, I think they need to stop driving everyone crazy on the news for people to adopt, when they are going to be turned away. I see it isn't about the animals, no it is about their nasty faces on the news. Stay off the news, especially if you aren't going to let people adopt, or acknowledge people when they are hurt

Our new baby is still adjusting to his animal family and living in a house, but we are so happy to have him. I love that the Humane society connects pets with a happy home. I wish that I could have gotten a little more information on his history from his foster home or background but everyone there is very friendly and helpful with what information they have.

Great working cat program. Need a cat for your barn. The Kentucky humane society working cat program is the place to get them.

Pretty good selection of puppies to choose from, we found our little guy, only thing was he was so stinky and we can't give him a proper bath for two weeks cause he was just neutered.

I signed up to foster and ended up fostering a puppy for about 2 weeks. I wanted to adopt her but noticed that she was kind of sickly and being aggressive after they gave her back to us after taking her for a day to be spayed. They kept telling us we qualified for a discount then didn’t..but the thing i cant understand is that you guys charge $350 as a set price for puppies but for the adult dogs they are nowhere near that price. They also had a shelter clear out that same week for 1+ Year old animals so they were extremely discounted. (Question: Why aren't all pets equally priced?) We asked that they negotiate with us as who wants to walk out the door knowing they are going to have to pay for vet treatments and training as soon as they pay the high adoption fee. We really wanted to help this baby but not for that price with the problems she was showing before we even signed the adopt papers. No one wanted to talk further about this as i guess they thought well you wont pay it but someone else will. Truly disappointed as we were already full on showing how much we were willing to invest and take care of as a forever home.
