Me and my mom came in here looking for a puppy for a present on Christmas and we looked at this cute puppy named pumba and the lady said nobody was looking at this dog yet only us she said and the other worker guy that took care of him told a lot about the dog to us and then we filled out the adoption application and the other lady said the next day we can bring our 2 Pomeranian dogs to do a meet and great with pumba and see how they would get along with Eachother and they got along great. Then we went back inside and mysteriously the next day after we filled the application out there was just so many applications to go through even though they said nobody was looking into the dog but us and they said they have to go through all of the applications and then they said they would give us a call and guess what?? They never did. I really think that’s messed up to do to someone like that especially since we was the first ones to do the adoption application. So if I was you I wouldn’t even get your hopes up to get a dog there.

Good place if you're in a bind and can't afford food for your cats and dogs they will help you out with it. They also have pets that you can adopt

Such an amazing pet adoption shelter! They actually care for each and every pet even after they walk out of their doors headed toward a new home! They will also help every month with food- for FREE! They are so very compassionate and helpful in every way. I would recommend this shelter over any other. Hands down my favorite!

Opened at 12 but when we went in they were not ready for customers. Had to stand and wait for 20 minutes. When we finally got to go look at the cats the lady was very nice and friendly.

Terrible experience. Back story. I went in to adopt a kitten and found one that seemed healthy. We bring him home and the next day this mark appears on his ear. We think he somehow fell and hurt himself, so we let it "heal". A couple days later it starts scabbing and getting bigger. We come to find out we adopted a cat with a fungal infection, THE SHELTER'S FAULT. The infection can spread to humans as well as other animals, so we decide to look for a vet but they are all booked for months. Since we didn't want to keep a contagious pet we brought him back to the shelter to return him so they can treat him ASAP. Issue: This worker with blue eyes and curly hair was VERY rude and mean towards us for returning the cat for a very VALID reason. He didn't even mention the refund until it was asked of, he said to fill out a form so the board can decide if I get my money back. Which is insane because they sold me a sick cat and I have to wait possibly a month to see if I earned my money back?? What??? So, I said ok then I'll take my cat back, I'm not losing $150. All of a sudden they printed a receipt issuing a refund to my account. They make all of these rules thinking everyone will mistreat the cats when in reality they can't take care of them well enough to sell healthy cats. It's all backwards, they can sell me a sick contagious cat but I when I try to return it they act all angry toward me like I'm the bad guy. Fire that kid who treats customers like this.

This is a great place to adopt a pet. My husband and I are adopting a cat from them today. I would be willing to adopt another cat from them in the future. They were very nice, knowledgeable and friendly.

My application was reviewed and approved, then they suddenly decided to have staff meeting in the middle of the day (2PM). I was literally standing there for 20 minutes. When they were done with staff meeting and preparing paperwork for me, I had to head out because I had things to do. When I came back 2 hours later to finish adoption process, the cat I planned to adopt and they approved me for was already adopted by someone else. Do you not see the issue here? Why have a staff meeting in the middle of the day? Why did you approve my application and give it to someone else? If your mid-day staff meeting didn't take 20 min I would have enough time to finish adoption process and gone home with the cat I wanted. I was really disappointed.

Honestly I'm shocked i've been to Almost Home Humane Society a few times before but today it was horrible and some of the staff were terrible and so unkind. All we wanted to do was see some cats but apparently not. I would highly advised going somewhere else to adopt a pet.

Granddaughter had a Girl Scout mtg to learn how to donate cat and dog toys for the animals as well as other needs that the Furbabies may need. They learned how to hold a kitten / cat to let them know that they are safe and secure and loved when being held. Watched couples excited to adopt a furbaby of their choice.. Only adopt tho if you are able to care for them.. They are seeking someone to Love them, Not abuse them.

Our two cats are from here, and they allowed us to get to know them at the shelter before taking them home. They are thorough in their applications to make sure all animals go to the proper home.

My dog esacped the house. I found her at this humane society. They had her 30 mins before we arrived. I had an issue with them charging me 40$ to pick her up. So I asked a bunch of questions. Mind you, losing your 13 yr old blind dog is stressful, so my tone was probably not so great. Instead of trying to be helpful the girl with long dark hair stood and played on her phone for 15 mins instead of getting my dog and the other "employee" slowly took all of my info and payment. Come to find out she called the animal control officers and claimed that I said someone stole my dog. They showed up and confronted me as of I commited a crime. Asking where I live and why there's a problem. Took an hour plus to get out of that place. Dark long haired woman likes to make up her own narratives and instigate confrontation. She didn't listen to anything I told her about the dog and thought we had adopted the dog from them. The woman "officer" with the animal control has no right to start a confrontation with anyone. This place is messed up. Stay away.
