This is from Donna Craig, Vader Craig, and Tony Craig. Our dog Vader started showing signs of weakness or tiredness on Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day I took him there. Dropping Vader off, I felt confident that he would be getting good care. Every staff member starting with the front desk was friendly and caring. After the Vet’s evaluation Dr Wentworth called me to explain her findings, unfortunately it was a autoimmune disease, I took him home with medications and instructions to call with any further problems and to follow up with Vaders primary Vet, Dr Erin Smyth. On December 26th I had to take him back down in the early afternoon, they had to take him in by stretcher, he ended up spending the night, he made it through the night, but did not improve, we ended up putting Vader to sleep that afternoon. I want to thank all the staff members, Dr Wentworth, Dr Leto, Dr Cross, RVT’s Leslie, Miranda and i cannot remember the other ladies names, the front desk ladies, They were all so caring to Vader as well as our family. Thank you all so much!! God Bless you for what you do!!

I can't say enough about VCA and Dr. Katharine Wentworth! Our dog has high blood pressure with seizures and we have been struggling to keep things under control even with our regular vet. When we ended up at the ER with her, they immediately started working with her! Dr. Wentworth was so wonderful to Lucy and kept us in the loop every step of the way. We can't wait to meet Dr. Hui! Thank you so much for being the heroes for our fur babies! You are a blessing!

It says on you website you specialize in emergency medicine. I don't believe you do. My pup didn't survive a basic problem. He was in guarded condition until 3rd shift took over. Then what happened? Did you decide whom lived?? You don't give a dog sedition when his blood pressure is low. He was having a anxiety attack. Never will I bring another pet to you. I see mostly people are leaving good stars because you saved their pet's. But none of them were emergency problems. You have my Phone number, I'm not sure why your' taken aback' of my views on you website. As you know I absolutely hold your third shift staff responsible for the loss of my Beloved pet!! It took me 6 month's to even pick up his ashes!! You absolutely killed my pup! And when I went to pick up his ashes, no one there incredibly even the third shift vet, would talk to me!! So I'm very offended your taken aback by my truthfulness!!

A tremendous thank you to VCA, we cannot begin to thank you enough for the amazing care you provided for our sweet older pug Manfred. From the receptionist, to the nurses, to your veterinarians, everyone was so professional, empathetic, and really looked out for Manfred. A special thank you to Drs. Crow and McNiel, and his nurses, you were able to get him to a point to be transferred for more specialized cardiology care. We really didn’t know what to expect with COVID, but, we were pleasantly surprised we were able to visit Manfred, all of our calls were answered, and we never felt rushed. We were so worried about him, and we felt you knew that and allowed us time with him and always took our calls. Thank you for everything you do on behalf of animals and for being available 24/7. We are very grateful. We loved the attached picture that Manfred’s nurse sent to us while he was in the hospital. We wish everyone at VCA a very Merry Pugmas, and thank you for everything. ????

I have had to use this emergency vet clinic a few times over the years. Most recent visit was in September 2021. The staff was great, seemed genuinely caring towards my pet. The wait time was long, and the overall cost was high, but this is an emergency vet clinic. My wait was long because my dog wasn't in danger of dying and they understandably prioritize the clients by immediate need. The price was high, but that's because they are available when my normal vet is closed, like in the middle of the night on a weekend. Thank you VCA staff for being there when the need arises at unexpected times!!

worst experience of my life. my fiancé and i took our very sick dog to be seen because she was vomiting and having bloody stools. when we got there they took our dog and called us minutes later to tell us that there is no blood in her stool so nothing is wrong. and to do further testing it would be over $1000. I paid over $300 for my dog to get a nausea shot (that didn’t work), some fluids, and a 7 day supply of medicine that wasn’t even for what was wrong with her. Never got to speak to a vet at all, felt like they only wanted our money. i left feeling worse about my dog than when we got there. i will never bee returning.

Took my fur baby to VCA today, they were extremely supportive and cared about all pets that came in the door. They helped put me at ease while I waited to see what was wrong with my dog. I would highly recommend going to VCA if you ever have an emergency with your pet. Thank you VCA.

Charge a disgusting price, for your complete neglect and incompetence! My dog is still having issues. You were worthless! I see why you have so many negative reviews.

AWESOME service here!!! My dog was in pain and I brought her up through the emergency room, they did an MRI and surgery to fix a disc and she was out in two days doing 100% better!! So so glad for VCA and everyone here was very nice and supportive.

VCA staff took great care of our 16 year old lab, and our family as we made the hard decision to say goodbye. I’m so grateful for their care on a really tough night. Thank you, VCA, for keeping our Elly as comfortable as possible and giving us the time we needed to love on her before she left us.

Dr. Zoltan Szilagyi was extremely knowledgeable and diagnosed our elderly dog with Vestibular Disease and explained some other things going on with him our regular vet could not figure out after multiple visits. We brought Buddy in around 7pm on a Friday night and he could not stand and seemed very confused. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and Buddy was taken back within 30 minutes of arriving. The Doctor very thoroughly explained everything to us and answered anything we could think of and was honestly seemed so invested in making sure we left knowing everything we could about the disease. If you have anything neurological related this is the place the go. The staff was fantastic.

Took our 6 year old cat here. He was lethargic and didn't seem like he was feeling right. The visit consisted of a pretty standard process, minus waiting over an hour when it wasn't busy, literally 4 or maybe 5 people sitting in the waiting room. They take our cat back, they call and say they ran blood tests and based on that he has DKA or diabetes, but all his vitals are perfectly normal. They tell my wife the options include a 2 day stay totalling almost $6000 or euthanasia. This was around midnight. We pay a little over $650 and pull our cat out and leave for a second opinion. Thank God we did because the vet we went to in Greenwood the next around 9am, keep in mind this was less than 10 hours later following the VCA visit. The veterinarian request the documents from our visit with VCA, then informs us they didn't even have notes from the visit and that there was some vague statement regarding his ketone being off... But somehow the urine and blood tests showed there was no indication of diabetes. Bottom line is that if VCA wants to fix this, maybe they should provide more training or replace these bad employees, hire people that have empathy and a want to care for animals. Euthanasia should be a last resort, not a casual recommendation. Our cat is going to be fine, even with a day stay costing way less and with what I perceive will be a more assured level of care. I'm more annoyed that I had to leave this review than anyone that has influence of VCA, I'm sure.

Do not expect help from VCA. In an emergency situation with my dog, after calling the staff for advice they told me to call poison control and refused to give me any further help. When I pleaded for further help because I just needed to know how to quickly proceed, I was hung up on. I would give them 0 stars if I could.

They give a standard 2-3 hour wait time so that individuals don’t expect immediate triage, but it was about an hour from time of arrival to checkout. All staff contact was professional and pleasant, all my questions were answered and provided directions on continued treatment. This is not my regular vet and trying to find a vet since moving to the area that I trust and operate professionally has been disappointing, and I am considering moving all my annual exams and typical treatment for my pets to this establishment. Thank you for taking care of my fur kid today.

Called 5 mins before I left my house to take my dog to get stitched up lady on the phone took all my info and dogs info only to drive 1:05 and be turned away saying that they are on deferment and won't see my dog... That they have been on deferment for hours... If that was the case why didn't they lady on the phone tell me this... I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.... Poor personnel workin the desk and the phone!!?

First off: working in the Vet Med world is hard I'm 100% with you guys and I can't even imagine working emergency with the influx we've had or even before this. I appreciate the whole team that worked with me and helped save my baby, Bubba Monkii. I walked in with him almost completely limp, crying, attempting to remember everything we've done and were doing for him. Everyone was great even before they knew I, too worked in the same field. What people need to understand is that there has been an influx in pets especially during the pandemic, we are all short staffed compared to the number of patients that need to be seen. I'm just happy that you did have room for my Bubba Monkii and we are grateful for the excellent care he received. Keep your heads up and remember why we do this.

My dog was having complications from abdominal surgery and they wouldn't even see him. The technician seemed scared of my german shepherd and wouldn't even evaluate him to see if there was a true emergency or not. I'm a veterinary technician and they made me ashamed of my profession.

I can’t thank VCA enough. My dog had a bad eye ulcer that got infected. My prior vet told me I needed to get her to an ophthalmologist in 2 days; when the place she recommended could not get her in, I called VCA. Maybe it was my pitiful voicemail, but Sabrina was able to get Sadie in to see Dr. Budelsky in 24 hours. I did my research and found he is top rated in the state and was very please to get in so soon to see him. His reputation was everything I expected from the reviews. He and Teresa were AMAZING. I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the both of them and their professionalism. Sadie is back on track thanks to them, and her eye is on the mend now! Never once did I question Sadie’s care at VCA. The front desk staff and everyone I spoke to are very understanding when you are upset about your sick pup. I strongly recommend them. -Erin Maddox

We are beyond grateful for the compassionate and knowledgeable staff here at VCA AVCC! We first came here a few months ago when we found out Duke tore his ACL. We met with Dr. Vecchio to discuss our options. Duke is a senior large breed dog with congenital kidney disease, so any decision we make for his care is never taken lightly. Dr. Vecchio was so kind and attentive to Duke’s special needs. He gave us multiple options and allowed us to make the best decision for Duke without feeling pressured into anything. We chose to pursue a conservative approach to heal his knees, which is when we met Dr. Talaga and her team in the Physical Rehabilitation department. They were also so good to Duke! They were very attentive to his needs and ensured that he was able to receive his therapy in a setting that made him feel comfortable and safe. Dr. Talaga gave us wonderful resources and activities to do at home on the days we weren’t at the hospital for therapy. We just finished our first 6 weeks and the progress we have seen with Duke is amazing! He is walking better and has so much more stamina! Thank you to the entire VCA AVCC team for all you do. We are so grateful for you!

To the kind VCA staff person who walked out of work at 5:20 today and asked me (the person in the comfy Adirondack chair, LOL) if I needed anything, THANK YOU. I’ve been here since 10:45am (and up all night prior) hoping to figure out why my sweet little dog has started to have seizures. I can see in my 7+ hours here how genuinely busy you all are - and I can’t imagine how hard and stressful it must be to see lots of animal (and human!!) trauma all day, everyday. But that quick, simple act of compassion really moved me and made me feel “seen”. When people come here they may be losing a very beloved family member and your kind words acknowledged that reality. So never doubt that those moments (of a smile and/or a sincere check-in) matter to the people sitting, waiting, worrying, crying, and praying). Thank you as well to the very kind Dr. who allowed me time to ask questions and process the information being shared. (Presley’s mom).

The staff at this location were wonderful when I brought my dog in. I thought he was having a stroke and they looked at him right away. He ended staying for two nights and they gave me text up. They were very patient with all my questions. My boy just had vertigo and he is now home and happy.

If I could give this facility zero stars I would. My almost 7-year-old Rottie, Gizmo, died at the VCA on 7/15/21. How? Why? I'm still trying to piece it all together. To say I am devastated is an understatement. Gizmo was an incredibly healthy dog and in less than 24 hrs was dead. I wanted to talk to the doctor on Gizmo's case, Dr. Zoltan, and have him walk me through what happened the next day. He was cold and flippant. I was asking fair questions. How often was Gizmo being checked on; Dr didn't know. Was Gizmo being monitored continuously; Dr didn't know. Where did the blood from his nose come from; Dr didn't know. Would an ultrasound have showed blood; Dr not necessarily (blatant lie). How long was he bleeding; Dr didn't know. If you are the DR on record, how would you not know this information? Doctors write the orders techs follow. How did Gizmo go from O2 of 96 to 63 in 45 minutes with moderate bleeding if he was being properly monitored and cared for?! That doesn't just happen! It just doesn't add up. Gizmo dying doesn't make sense. After DR Z couldn't answer ANY of my questions, I asked to have the medical records, doctor notes and xrays sent to me; my right by law. I was told by Dr Z this would happen immediately, it didn't. I called back 2 hours later, still nothing. We had to go to the facility and demand them. Even then, they would not supply the radiographs or doctors notes. Why? They weren't complete. How can it be that a patient is dead and the notes aren't complete? Jill, the receptionist, was kind enough to tell us it's because they see 100's of animals a day and it was Dr.Z weekend off. Excuse me?! I asked Gizmo's vet to request the records (maybe they'd have better luck) and walk me through what she saw so I could understand. Same story: 2 days to receive records with no DR notes or radiographs. As of collecting Gizmo's ashes yesterday, AN ENTIRE WEEK LATER, the record is still not complete and still missing notes from the DR on record. How is it that a patient is DEAD and CREMATED and his file still incomplete??? I asked my vet, whom Gizmo has seen his entire life, to take a look at the files and walk me through what she saw..... only she can't make sense of what happened either...not on the information that has been provided to her. "The outcome doesn't match the symptoms and notes sent", these are her exact words. She also said once his O2 was 63, no vet would have been able to save him. SO HOW DID THAT HAPPEN AND NO ONE NOTICED???? I'll tell you how. Gizmo went from 6p-9p without any notes on his record of being checked on. At 9pm his O2 was 91 and it was decided they would start oxygen because it was trending downwards (dx pneumonia) Next document of vitals? 11 PM!! For a dog that seems to be heading in the wrong direction, wouldn't you check on him more closely than 2 hours later? Especially if you just started an oxygen treatment? What is the standard of care for O2 txt? For moderate bleeding? NO ONE CAN TELL ME!! Which begs the question: WHAT DO YOU KNOW? NO ONE at the VCA seems able or willing to explain. Not Dr Zoltan Szilagyi, not the medical director Johnny Cross, or the building manager, Anita Horn. If there is nothing to hide, why can't I get a call back from those in charge? Why can't the doctor finish the record? Make it make sense! Of course the intent of the team/Dr. Zoltan wasn't to let Gizmo die, but he did. I am certain they did everything they could to save him when they found him moderately bleeding with an O2 of 63...but it was too late by then. I am just as certain negligence played a factor in the hours leading to Gizmo's death. The law states negligence isn't just the wrong care, it's also LACK OF CARE. Maybe they were too busy. Maybe Gizmo wasn't a priority. But if everything was above board why be so shady?! Why can't the DR complete them? Why can't I get a complete record? Or a call back? I recognize we are all human, we err. When mistakes are made, there needs to be accountability and I won't stop until there is. Gizmo deserved more.

Usually when you go to an emergency place they’re quick to see what the problem is, been sitting in the parking lot for 30 minutes already so much for emergency care. (Edited) - I apologize for the bad review I was angry at the wait because I got impatient, they did a great job and a great service to me and my doggy got her feeling better the same day I appreciate everything you guys did.

If I could give zero stars I would. Both of my daughters have had to use VCA as an emergency vet since April of 2021. That's right we have had the tragedy of losing 2 fur babies in just a couple of months. Both of them ended up having to say goodbye to their babies. Both had very different circumstances but both were treated like an inconvenience versus a parent of a fur baby that had to say goodbye. I was present for one of these and in constant contact on the other. First One: April 2021. Our beloved little baby had been going through chemo which was ineffective (and extremely expensive). When the time came where we had to say "it's time" they let this pup sit alone on her last day for almost an entire day before talking to my daughter and letting her take her home. They gave her zero updates even though she called hourly "feeling" that end was very near. And it was, she was gone within hours of releasing her. They knew the situation, they were treating her. They stole the last 6 hours of time between my daughter and her sweet baby girl. But had no issue slapping her with the bill immediately. The second one July 2021. I was present for. The coldness of the clinic personnel was reprehensible. While 6 of us (masked up) were in a room saying goodbye to an old friend that was unexpectantly at the end of his days (It was a sudden rupture). While we were saying goodbye, the VCA employee opens the door and says "This will be $645, how do you want to pay for this?" instead of asking my daughter to speak privately. Then another VCA employee comes in with the euthanize medication and says "are you ready?" Then injects the meds, drops the tube on the floor when done, gets up and walks out the room and mutters "sorry for your loss" as she closes the door. It was cold and callous. No compassion for what is an awful moment for the pups mom and dad. The entire event was unforgivable and you cannot get the time back. I was waiting for my daughter to find another 24 hour vet before posting this. She found one in Carmel. I would encourage anyone that needs a clinic like VCA to look elsewhere. This clinic needs some training on bedside manner. They are brutally bad at it. But again, they know how to ask to get their money. And check out their responses to all negative comments that all seem to have a similar theme. Their responses are canned and on autopilot. Just like their staff. Go to "most recent" and start scrolling.

We had our small dog get mauled by a pitbull and when our other pup was very young she contracted parvo. They were both taken here and we had an excellent experience. Dr. Brown-Goodwin is amazing and the vet techs were always in communication. This has to be a hard professional to be in especially when people bring their dying or hurt animals to you then expect you to work miracles on their helpless or dying animals. I applaud the men and women that work

We took my Chloe there for a medical issue. Unfortunately, with her old age and medical condition we had to put her down. Mandy and Lisa did a great job comforting us during this extremely painful time. Professional, clean facility with good people who work there. Thank you...

Worst place in America I stood in their waiting room for my dog eating medications. They told me to call poison control and hold until they answered.
