Dr.Craige and his staff was so caring with my girls. I felt that they really care, that it wasn't about the money. My family appreciates that.

BEWARE. I don't often write reviews of businesses, but I feel so strongly about my experience that I had to say something to warn any future customers. Our experience with this vet clinic began in Feb 2021 when our dog was playing in the snow and injured her rear leg (turned out to be a torn ligament, similar to human ACL). She was only walking on 3 legs, so we were concerned something was broken. We were grateful that this vet clinic fit us in last minute to see our dog. At that time, they weren't allowing owners into the building to minimize people contact so they requested you call their number upon arriving. The phone number didn't work and said it was out of service. You wouldn't know that there's an issue with their phones until you walk to the front door and ask, to which they replied they knew their phone was down all day(??) Without putting up a disclaimer. They take our dog back for examination, then come back outside to tell us of her condition and that they had also proceeded to give her a steroid shot (without asking first) and sent us home with pain meds. No description of side effects of this shot. We immediately learn after our dog downs all of her water and food like she's been starved and dehydrated that steroid shots cause severe dehydration and urination. Poor dog had to go pee every hour... works well when we both work all day away and are used to her holding it just fine. She went pee everywhere inside the first day. We learned to deal after that. Against my better judgment, after we switched to a new vet, I scheduled our dog a booster vaccine for bordatella (?) because her previous had expired and current vet was booked full for a few weeks. All other shots up to date. During the appointment, I was chatting with the vet and wasn't completely focused on the vet tech administering the shot. As they wish us well and I check out, I learn that they gave our dog both that shot AND a rabies shot. Our dog was up to date on her rabies, I didn't ask for it. There's a reason rabies are only required every 3 years-the shot is very hard on the immune system and requires minimal dosing to not put severe stress on the internal organs or immune system and should not be paired with additional vaccine shots to increase stress. Unless your vet knows what they're doing, they will also often administer the same amount to a smaller dog as they would to a large one. Then they tell me that it is something they will give a booster for if they have no record of administration in the last 2 years. The damage is already done so I just ask for her updated rabies tag, to which they say they're fresh out and are waiting on more to arrive and will call when more come in. 2 weeks later our once very healthy dog starts to show symptoms of liver and kidney failure. We work hard to change diet and she rallies for a short time. 2 weeks after that she progresses to symptoms of heart failure. Through multiple (not Eville) vet visits, we attempt to turn it around but there's little we can do even after trying multiple methods. She passed away last week finally from congestive heart failure (9yrs old). I wish I could take legal action, but unfortunately its very difficult to prove that vaccine shots are the only root cause of something like heart failure. There's not a doubt in my mind of the root cause, though, with her optimal health and no other changes to lifestyle, activity, or diet around that period of symptom onset. This vet clinic is comparatively inexpensive, but if you choose to be a customer please make sure you are VERY explicit and alert and careful with every action they take as some negligence could happen. Also, still no new rabies tag has been called about or given.

Old school vet. Saw our dog on a few days notice. Gave us options and set us at ease about his condition. Great staff, amazing service. Family feel.

Vets are good, prices reasonable, but appointments are hard to get and it is hard to get them to answer their phone. Once I requested and had been promised a refill of my pet's medication (that he would die without,)and they closed the clinic for a week without so much as having a voicemail message saying they were closed. Had to take my pet to another vet as an emergency and pay big bucks for a visit and prescription. Also, if your animal has special needs or needs an urgent visit, you're wasting your time and putting your pet at peril with this staff.

I've had such positive experiences with Ellettsville Veterinary Clinic! I have been going there for many years! They are always so kind and answer all my questions!! Erin, Cindy & Jade & Max are alway's the epitome of professionalism and so kind! I like Dr. Craig & Dr. Mejier very much! I've a toy poodle, AJ and 3 kitties that go there! I've taken my grand cat there too! Erin, our Vet Tech always comes out & gives us updates when she brings AJ out!! They do a very thorough job! AJ was diagnosed with diabetes before Christmas. They have worked diligently to get his glucose levels stabilized! So AJ has had to be there a lot! In spite of being very busy they have given us such excellent, friendly care & have not had to wait very long at all, for them to get him in & bring him out!t I feel like my animals are in very good & loving hands! They are very reasonable in price as well! I would highly recommend them to anyone else! ????????????⬛????⬛!!!

If I could give less than 1 star, I would! I took my cat there with a problem he has had before. It was in the very beginning stages and with Covid, my regular vet was booked. I told them my cat was FIV positive and that when this happened before, there was only one medication that ended up working. Not only did they give him an FIV test but they also gave him 2 different drugs than the one I told them worked. They charged me $128 and just as I suspected after the 3 weeks administration of these drugs, they didn't work! (Please note that my cat has a very hard time taking medicines, so this was 3 weeks of unnecessary trauma) After multiple calls into the vet, I received no help in reversing any fees nor accountability for the complete disregard for my initial information to them. When asked why they charged me $50 for an FIV test, she responded, we thought he looked too healthy to have FIV. She said she would give me a credit for that $50, BUT I will never return to a vet who won't listen to a word I say about my pet. After calling repeatedly and asking for a refund, I never got the $50 check I was eventually promised and of course I had to take my cat to another vet. Meanwhile my cat's infection blew up, just as I said it would and he had to suffer for 3 months until it finally cleared up from the exact medicine I asked for, that I got from another vet for $8. I spent $128 HERE for something that should have been $40, at a time when I was laid off work and had no money, it was beyond frustrating! The woman in charge of running things had a very bad attitude and never returned calls or followed through. She refused to let me speak to the vet who supposedly backed her up on everything. Terrible service, terrible vet. I would not go here again if my life depended on it. I am including photos of Merlin's nose once he stated recovering. I took him to this vet when he only had one small spot on his nose because I knew what it would become. This was not the worst of it. The vet could have prevented this if they had just listened to me. But apparently his ego is too big and he knows best. Please consider finding another vet to go to.

My dog Chewy was biting his hair off. He was on “Onguard” topical flea medication. I checked for fleas and didn’t find any. Took him to Ellettsville Vet and they diagnosed his problem in minutes. They found fleas and realized he was allergic to the bites. They put him on “Comfortis”, gave him a steroid shot and the fleas just started to fall off!! He is 100% better. I’m grateful and impressed with the office, staff and doctor. Thank you so much. ????????
