It makes me sad to give a one star but the way this lady receptionist talked to me on the phone was very disrespectful. I have nothing but good things to say about the actual vet techs and veterinarians there. But that lady needs to find a different job because apparently she doesn’t know how to talk to customers who have been going there for over 10 years and spend a fortune. They also need to update their system because when people get their dogs vet work done we expect our vet to have their records in case they need them for things. They are extremely overpriced. And apparently she didn’t know how to count because when you get a heartworm preventative shot that last 12 months and she tried to tell me that they went since October without getting it again well October wouldn’t be 12 months, that would be nine months so my dogs are up-to-date and she made it to where I couldn’t adopt a dog so apparently if you do everything right as a pet owner you can’t even adopt. I will not ever trust this vet ever again.

Good animal treatment, but they are too busy for individual care, and very expensive.

I have never had to go through having a dog diagnosed with lymphoma before. We came to devonshire after our other vet told us they were "too busy to give the same quality of care" after covid. The entire Devonshire staff has been absolutely fantastic and Dr. Smiley is incredible, from making time to see her when an appointment was necessary, to answering my million questions via their app, and even medication prescriptions and follow up, their thoughtful reassurances and care are rivaled by none. 1000 stars, would highly recommend.

Most days, I prefer to believe that the world is filled with people who are inherently good. Unfortunately, you will not find any such people at Devonshire veterinary clinic in Anderson Indiana. I have a cat who is the sweetest boy. His name is Bernie. Bernie was a stray who came to me by chance, and he has a history of kidney stones with complete urinary obstruction. He has been on a special food for years, and the pandemic has made my auto ship orders unreliable. After placing an additional online order, making multiple phone calls, and waiting over two weeks with no results, Bernie was out of food. My vet recommended that I call Devonshire’s to see if they would sell me one small bag of food with a prescription from my vet, just to get my little guy through. When I called Devonshire’s, they told me that they did indeed have his food in stock, but they refused to allow me to purchase a bag of food unless I brought my pet into their clinic and paid for an examination. They also told me that I could probably “just let him go a few days without food” while I wait for his online order to surface. I literally gasped audibly when the clinical staff member suggested this. I have always been told that cats should not go for days without eating, since it can cause liver problems. Not to mention, it’s cruel to withhold food from a pet!! So, I repeated what the girl said. “You mean I should just put my cat on a fast for several days??” And the girls reply: “Yep.” I immediately called my vet and told them what Devonshire’s had suggested, and they said Absolutely not, that it would never be safe to withhold food from my cat for days on end. The fact that Devonshire’s would go to such lengths as to suggest starving my cat just so they wouldn’t have to help an animal in time of need is repulsive. It is equally disturbing that their clinical staff is so uneducated about basic animal wellness. (I didn’t think it required a college degree to figure out that it is best to give animals food....?) If I could give zero stars to this facility, I would.

They are really nice, they take time for you, are very gentle with the animals, but charge 3 times what you would pay elsewhere.

I’ve been taking my pets to this vet for years. I have had decent service until now, and WILL NOT BE RETURNING to this place of business. During COVID, I was asked to stay in my vehicle in the parking lot as they treated my kitten. She was only finishing up her boosters during this visit as it was confirmed twice before her appointment, including the total cost for the visit. They took my card inside to complete the transaction. To my surprise, instead of a just a 40.00 booster there was an office visit charge and a rabies shot totally about 122.00. I called as soon as I got home and they were unwilling to work with me to correct this mistake. I went ahead an disputed this charge through my credit card company and all the vet had to do was show and itemized list of charges. Ridiculous. Just to top it off, I didn’t even sign for this transaction and never would have. ❓How do they give your pet a rabies vaccine without your permission? A little nuts if you ask me.

I've been taking my dog to Devonshire for 3 years, and it's always been the same. It's usually a fine experience, with wonderful doctors and nurses. That is, until our most recent visit. There was a new doctor, who immediately was scared of my dog. She gets very nervous outside of our house, and can growl at some people (very few people) and of course this doctor was one of them. So I do admit, I see why he might've been worried, but he was scared before he even got in the room. He hid behind the door, had me double girth leash her (choker leashes or collars) AND muzzle her. They've never needed a leash on her before, and definitely never asked to muzzle her. I'm usually very much against muzzles, but I was in a hurry today and I knew if I argued he'd make a big deal about it. If she moved slightly, he got jumpy. He was shaky the whole time, and frankly I'm surprised he gave her shots properly. And at the end he gave no treats. This vet always give a small handful of training treats to pets who come for shots. This entire visit was very unpleasant, and unprofessional. I'm sad to say that if he doesn't get better, or of they don't find someone better to replace him, I don't think I'll be coming back here anymore. I'm incredibly sorry to all the wonderful nurses there, and I wish everyone the best. *N O T I C E* - This is my personal experience, and preference. Some people wouldn't be bothered by things like that, but when I take my dog to the vet I expect a pleasant and peaceful environment. Not a nervous and restrained one. Please take your pets to your preferred vet, and only use my and other reviews as reference for where to go. Not as law. Thank you

Great friendly and caring atmosophere, love the staff and they treat my animals great and help me wrangle them when I bring then all in together. Would've been 5 stars but it's so expensive I had to start taking them to the low cost clinic. When you're a multiple pet owner it adds up quick.

Dr. Smiley is great. He not only takes good care of your pet, he educates you as a pet parent. Plus they use the phone app Medici. It can save you $$ on a office visit.
