This place is terrible, when you take your pet they tell you a price, when you pick up the dog they charge you double what you should pay. When you tell them why they charge more than what it is? They answer you saying that his face was difficult to cut. My puppy is so small. If you can't cut the hair of the pets, stop doing that job.

I love their walk-in nail trim service! Both of my dogs were in and out in 10 minutes. Staff is friendly and professional.

Unless you'd like to be belittled, condescended, ripped-off, and made to feel like a completely horrible human being for trying to support a local business, DO NOT GO HERE. Please keep in mind that my family and I have been going to Jimminy Clippers for 30+ years. The previous owner, Kathy, was one of the most wonderful people on Earth. All of that changed with the new ownership and today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I brought my 2 girls for a walk-in appointment to have their nails trimmed. After receiving attitude from the male receptionist that I didn't have an appointment, he begrudgingly took my girls back to have their nails done; one-by-one. While he had 1 of my girls in back, I asked if I could pay him before I had my hands full of dogs. He told me it'd be $30 for the 2 girls. I thanked him and handed him my credit card. He said "Ok, $34 on your card" and started to insert my card into his machine. I asked him to stop and asked why the almost 15% increase for using my card. In a very degrading tone, he asked me if I knew how credit cards worked. I explained that by trade, I'm very familiar with the credit card processing flow, but he interrupted me and started to lecture me in a way that can only be received as having the intent to guilt me as a consumer about how he loses money if I pay with a credit card. I asked him if he had any signs posted about the additional fees if I pay with a credit card or cash and why he didn't say something to me when I walked in today and he said that he does not have to as this is his business (which I'm not even sure is lawful). I asked if I could go get cash and come back to pay him and he said no. I explained that I have never *to my knowledge* been charged by Jimminy Clippers for using a credit card and am very surprised that he is starting to do so without telling the public. I asked for the owner's information and he said he is the owner. I asked for his name and he said "Why.". I then cancelled the future appointment that I had made for full service and told him that I'd be taking my business to Wee Little Paws, down the road on Rand. They do a great job and charge a bit less. He asked why I even came there today then and I told him that my family and I had been supporting Jimminy Clippers for 30+ years until today; that I'd be making sure to tell everyone I knew of my experience with them. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL! PLEASE SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES THAT ACTUALLY RESPECT THEIR CUSTOMERS. THERE ARE MANY OF THEM OUT THERE!!

Our Shelby looked like a million bucks after her first hair cut. Thank you.

They were nice but I didn’t like the grooming my dog received at all especially since the prices were rather high. I expected more paying that price. My dog was also shaking when he came out. Not sure if it was because they basically shaved him down too short (not what I wanted) or because he didn’t like them. Not going back.

They did a fantastic job grooming my big, fluffy malamute! The groomer seemed very knowledgeable about grooming dual coat dogs and was very accommodating to my requests! Massive props to them for the tremendous job of pulling all the shed undercoat out of my dog as he feels sleek, smooth, and so so soft now! We'll probably be back, hopefully next time with a less dirty, matted dog!

Did a great job with my Pitbulls nails, she doesn't like her nails to be trimmed and they were able to get her done in a quick visit.

I asked for my shih-tzu to have a .05 inch length hair cut I came to pick her up only to see that she was watched. I said, this is not what I had requested. The barber told me I don't have time. Which was ironic because she already told me she had a canceling. The owner was not receptive and full of it. This place is totally unprofessional!

I have been bringing my dog there for a number of years with a groomer named Anna who was absolutely wonderful. The last time I called for an appointment I was told that they could no longer Groom my dog because she was getting too old I was surprised to hear it but up until then they did wonderful work

I moved to Palatine in May and I was nervous to find a new place for my baby. I found Jimminy clippers and I love the way they take care of my baby. There prices are great. The owner is wonderful. They have a customer for life.

Arrived today for my dogs appointment and due to COVID-19 I remained in the car while the owner came to grab my dog from the car. As he was grabbing him he dropped the leash and my 10lbs yorkiepoo took off running. We were all chasing after him and he ran into the main/busy street. He was almost hit by a big truck but luckily the driver was just barely able to stop before hitting him. I got my dog and was very shaken up...he was too. I am completely mind blow that not ONE staff member apologized (not even the owner). When I picked him up I paid and still received no acknowledgment and no apology...like nothing happened! This says a lot about a business. Once I gathered myself called and did not get through so I sent a message. The owner called me back and the apology seemed like something you say to shut someone up. An apology should have taken place right after and then again upon picking up. I would like to take my dog to a groomer and pay for a service that doesn’t include having him almost KILLED. It’s disappointing because we liked this spot but I cannot justify paying for my dog to almost die. There is no reason why professionals who do this on a daily basis can’t handle a 10lbs dog and can’t properly apologize.

Nice people whom really love dogs and understand the behavior. Paying/tipping is a little awkward. Easy parking and easy to find on Rand Rd.

Today was our Australian Shepard’s first grooming and I could not be happier with the experience. I was terrified to even bring him, but before leaving the assured me he was in good hands. I had seen many good reviews and they are all right, the ladies here are experienced and great at what they do. Our 3 year old Aussie is a big lover, but quit the handful and has always been afraid of the grooming process which may come off as aggression. Anna took care of JD today and let me know tips and tricks that I can do at home to help make this process a good one for him. She is so patient and you can tell she truly cares for the animals. They all do, and it comes off as soon as you walk in! He is so fluffy, soft, and healthy! I 100% recommend this place and for those who are worried about their energetic, feisty pets I recommend asking for Anna, we already have our next visit scheduled with her. I’m so excited we found Jimminy Clippers, thanks you guys!

Wow! What a wonderful place! We are new to the area and I am very cafeful about who I take my five year old samoyed, Nora to. As soon as I called up I knew I found the right place. They were very knowledgable about the breed and their coats complicated needs. She came out looking gorgeous and a few fur pounds lighter, and even put on two beautiful bows and a bandana! Fantastic service, have definitely found my new groomer!
