We’ve been searching everywhere for a big enough UVB hood (3 feet) and the couple we ordered elsewhere online were defective. We purchased a Reptisun hood from here and it worked! For reference, we have bearded dragons and the hood is for a 4’ x 2’ x 2’ enclosure, so we needed something for a 34” bulb. The picture is the tank WITHOUT the hood/bulb. Thanks!!

Awesome . Great shop and even better workforce that take on the reigns to running this place . Not favourable but the best interpersonal interactions is what that still motivates me to drive here. I have to drive 2- 3 hours, to and from home to be here in traffic. Be it towards understanding a new pet or discussing pet issues, these guys beat the rest in a wide panning on the Map of Illinois. Good well kept diversity of reptile pets to choose from, especially many if them bred inhouse .

it was ok. the prices are good i guess. but the cashier took more money than he was supposed to. the item i bought was 10.85 in total; i accidentally gave him 15, and he took it all. then i stood their waiting for my money back and he just said “ok. well you can leave now, idk why ur standing there. i asked you if you wanted a bag and you said no so you can leave” and i don’t think i really wanna come back sorry.

The Chicago Reptile House is run down with cracked tanks and the boarding birds are concerning. Unhealthy reptiles is an understatement. Petco has a better selection of everything including the reptiles and birds. I’m surprised this establishment is still in business. The employees try to be helpful but seem to lack information on their animals. It’s clear that the safety and health of animals isn’t a priority here.

This just to be place to go for corals and fish back in the day now look run down, crack tanks ,sad brown corals ....just sad ???? I think Aquatica took all their business since they were consistent in the area of reef / salt water. Hope they come back in the game !!! And owner hire someone knowledgeable that can keep up with that area.

Got my Chinese Water Dragon from here a little over a year ago. He has grown up to be happy & healthy and did not have any issues when I first purchased.

We LOVE this place. They are our go to place for everything reptile or fish. Been going here for almost a year, everyone is so awesome there.

I remember when the shop first opened about 28 years ago. I ended up buying my red tail there about a year after. She just passed away earlier this month and I was completely devastated. It prompted me to see if the store still exists and I'm so happy that it does. I hope they still have the same care and knowledge they had almost three decades ago. Vespa (my boa) was a huge part of my life, and had it not been for CRH, I likely never would have owned a snake... nevermind loved one.

This place is awesome. I've been bringing my Green Cheek Conure here for 2 years. Their prices are affordable and they ALWAYS do an excellent job cutting my babies nails and clipping his wings. I went to a vet in April 2021 due to a little medical emergency and the vet did a TERRIBLE job at cutting his nails and clipping his wings. A veterinarian! I was so upset and know never to let anyone else touch my parrots nails and wings aside from the crew at the Chicago Reptile House. It's a 50 minute drive for me coming from the city, but it's well worth it. I always make sure to get toys and treats while I'm waiting for my boy to get primped and polished. I also LOVE walking around and seeing all the birds that are boarding or for sale. It's a small place but they literally have everything you need for a parrot. I highly recommend this spot for all your birb needs!

I have been coming here for over a decade! They have helped me out with red eyed tree frogs, leopard geckos, ball pythons, and numerous birds and fish!! Chicago reptile house is the best around, hands down!!
