Reach Rescue is wonderful! After losing our much loved 17 year old pup, we went to Reach to adopt a new family member. They do a great job of screening adopters to find a good fit for the dogs. The volunteers give so much love and time to their fosters. We are so thankful to Reach for bringing Lexi to our family.

We are so thankful to Reach Rescue for our lovely pup Oakley! He’s only 3.5 months old but he’s super smart & loving! They had the cutest litters of dogs & puppies & they truly care about each of them. They provide us with much needed first time puppy owner guidance & his first year of vaccines! I love that they are always there for us when we have questions or just want to show off cute pictures of him! Thank you for giving us our first baby! I would highly recommend Reach Rescue to anyone looking for their next fur baby!

We began our journey with Reach in February of 2013, when we adopted the wonderful Lucy. A year and a half later, Reach united us with poor little abused Timmy. He also became a true blessing, and for 5 1/2 years we enjoyed these two little waifs. Unfortunately, about a year and a half ago Timmy left us too soon, but I hope is playing with his ball in dog heaven. It took us a year and a half of grieving to even partially get over his passing. In July we were introduced to Mona. What a beautiful animal. Cute, loving, smart, well trained. The perfect running mate for our beloved Lucy. She has energized Lucy and they are bonding. Mona is filling the hole in our hearts left by Timmy’s passing. My wife and I want to thank the gang at Reach for their tireless, dedicated devotion to these animals and the passion for getting them the forever homes they deserve. A heartfelt thanks to Amanda, who has always been watching out for, and finding the perfect dog for our situation. Finally, to the few people that leave negative reviews over silly issues like “ They didn’t answer the phone right away, or they seemed busy on Saturdays and I couldn’t ask them to explain what a rescue animal is”. Here’s a suggestion. Turn off your computer and volunteer at Reach for a week. See what it is like to dedicate yourself 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to saving dog’s lives and making sure they get to the right forever home. Also, try being a foster, which is a thankless job of housing, loving, training, nurturing, and preparing these animals for their forever homes. We love you Reach Rescue and will be visiting with Lucy and Mona in the future!

All items in the store are donated. All workers are volunteers. All the proceeds go to the dog shelter to pay for food and care of dogs in their care.

Reach was very transparent about the dog we were interested in. They ensured we understood what kind of home would be in the dogs best interest. Barrett and other staff members were quick to respond and answer any questions we had. Overall, a FANTASTIC experience. You can tell they legitimately put the dogs first.

Very disappointed. The way you talk to applicants and just hang up. If you can't treat people with respect I'm afraid to know how you're with animals. Go with another rescue. Edit: Her name was Patty. She was very rude and like I said she just hung up on me. I understand not everyone can be approved but you don't have to put an applicant down. Just say your not the right fit.

These people from Amanda to Mary , the foster mom of our Jack , were wonderful! We love our Jack and so grateful for the help they rendered to this loving pup. Reach Rescue are doing such a wonderful job in caring for these rescues. Grateful for allowing us to give Jack a forever home❤️

I put in adoption papers early in quarantine and waited the perfect pup. A litter of chihuahua mixes popped up and immediately I requested to adopt. I was contacted right away, and was in talks with the foster mom, Diane, leading up to it. The process was easy, smooth and everyone was so friendly! We met our pup later that week and we left with him. Prices are incredibly reasonable, we didn’t have to pay for our neuter, which is typical for adoption agencies. It’s completely volunteer run, and everyone we came across was helpful and sweet. Thanks Reach, for our snuggly lil boy!

Reach Rescue was so helpful in out dog adoption process. They introduced us to our new dog and gave us all the tools and help we needed to be great dog owners! They were patient with our questions and spent plenty of time with us. We got to spend a long time there with the dog we were considering adopting and it really made us fall in love and help us feel confident. Also, their thrift shop is a great place to get your starter supplies!

The person which handles the applications at this place is the Carol Baskin of puppy adoption. My wife was told that since she didn't bring our 14 year old previously rescued dog for regular enough visits to the vet she is denying our application. Ginger just had a check up not long ago and was found to be in great health, especially for her age. Ginger also has anxiety issues and the visits aren't exactly easy on her... My wife is active, I have a young son that would love to play with a puppy, and the living conditions would be more than ideal. To save yourself the embarrassing situation that we found ourselves in look at other local options that are much more understanding and easy to work with. Carol that handles the applications made my wife feel like a bad dog mom and that is far from reality.

I filled out an application, even sent a follow-up email and heard absolutely nothing. My sister is a veterinarian and I have had many happy dogs in the past. I'm very disappointed and I would not recommend doing business with these folks

I was taken back by volunteers? Amanda on the phone was nice but kind of pushy when setting up a time frame to meet the dog interested in. I understood the sensitivity that dogs can have around a lot of people or noise. But to call a adopter and tell them you don't come this specific time period that you can't guarantee the ???? will not adopted by someone else. Is this your normal way to to business? I filled out app and was approved. People work and not everyone can jump within a 6 to 24 HR period. Arrival at Rescue: The people whom worked or were volunteers in the building never introduced themselves while at rescue for a meet and greet with dog and foster parents. When walked in building didn't say Hi! I am and How may I help you. The young man said Who are you? Maybe I should have asked the same question back first but I have manners. I gave my name and said whom was meeting and dog. When asked questions about the dog or how rescue works. Received lots of unnecessary attitude from a young man that worked or was a volunteer there. Was caught off guard about his temperament of how I shouldn't ask the wrong questions. Is there really any wrong questions when adopting a dog? The foster parents were present and no problems answering questions. There were many reasons why decided not to adopt the dog and one was the rudeness from the staff. I have fostered dogs before with for a rescue and this type of treatment from whoever working at this organization is totally uncalled for.

We recently adopted from Reach Rescue and highly recommend them. They were very thorough about making sure we were the right fit for the dog and that the dog was a good fit for our family. We couldn't be happier and are grateful to have worked with such a great rescue.

They have adoption shows where you can see mostly all the dogs they have. The only thing is that people who work or volunteer aren't very nice or polite.

Not sure why they have my sons name posted here, but my husband and I (Michael and Victoria) adopted Matty. Our experience was phenomenal with this organization. Since we were the original rescues of this cute pup, they did everything possible to make sure that we were reconnected with Matty. The staff is knowledgeable and accommodating not to mention they have such big hearts for all these lost dogs. I would recommend anyone or family that is looking to adopt a dog or puppy(which they get all the time) to really take into consideration Reach Rescue first above others. Their facility in Mundelein is very impressive and very through with their adoption process. We couldn't be happier with our new member of the family!
