Technicians are not trained for dealing with any sort of animal that shows fear. Went to take a dog in to be boarded overnight, they were told ahead of time to let the dog get used to them before trying anything. Got a call 30 minutes later to come help them. Technician looked scared and showing fear to a large dog that is also scared is the last thing you want. Place does not seem to be knowledgeable on how to correctly care for dogs, please do what’s best for your pets and go to a better place. The dog has been fine at other places for both vet visits or being boarded, makes me think the staff is what caused the problems.

My family and I are new to the area and brought our 2 dogs to Creature Comforts to get annual vaccinations and exams. After emailing our prior vet records multiple times, the administrator still could not find the information. I finally printed it out and brought it with me, only to be asked to read it myself to the administrator and received a new patient treatment plan of over $860 (for one dog). After two hours of waiting I had still received no exam, so I told them I had to leave and I rescheduled the exam. I returned a week later for the exam and first round of vaccines. I was asked if I wanted a lab test done for my dog, only to find out later (upon check out) that the cost was $120. I don’t mind paying for necessary tests, but the way in which it was handled was quite unprofessional (not discussing the need and cost ahead of time). I left and heard nothing for over a week, only to call after a week and be told that the results were still not back. I called a week after that (2 weeks after the test) and was told the vet was out of the office for a health emergency ..fine - I understand life happens. I called a week later (now three weeks after the test) to be told they had no info for me. I spoke with the vet (Dr Revas) the following day but received nothing but arguments about my experience. We just moved from a suburban DC area and I never received a $860+ estimate for my dog’s annual vaccines and exam (this was NOT including heartworm and flea meds). I believe the staff at Creature Comforts are very nice people, but could really use more training and focus on how to run a business professionally.

I can't vouch for the quality of vet care because we take our pets to a different vet. They could be an amazing vet clinic. This review is just for boarding. We stopped by to do a tour of the boarding area because our normal place will be doing renovations when we need them next. The dog boarding room here looks like a humane society from hell. For smaller dogs they get stacked in cages 3 high in a tiny narrow room that looked (and smelled) like it hadn't been cleaned in quite some time. (When I say narrow I mean there is no way you could have two adults stand shoulder to shoulder comfortably between the large and small crates.) In the same narrow room, on the wall directly across from the tower of small dog crates, are some large crates for bigger dogs. There were 2 pitbulls standing in these. None of the crates are big enough to let your fur babies move around very much. The big crates should be for smaller dogs and the bigger dogs deserve a much larger area than they are given. The dogs are allowed to go outside just 3 times a day according to the lady we spoke with. The outside area they get sent to has small caged runs surrounded by buildings on all sides with gravel instead of grass. It was loud with mechanical noises and didn't seem like it would get sunlight or any protection in event of bad weather. My pets are family and I couldn't imagine leaving my family members in those situations for a week. If you're considering boarding here please at least tour the facility first so you know what you'd be putting your loved ones through while you're away.

The doctor cried with us when it was time for our dear dog to be put to sleep. They loved on our dog and cared for her. It’s more than a vet, they are friends who help us with our pets. I won’t go anywhere else.

From having to put my Bella down to regular vet care for my other 2 dogs and cat they are the only place my dogs have ever ran to the door, tails wagging to get in. Whenever I take my dogs to or pick them up from boarding they are always happy. Animals don't lie. I love this place, but most importantly my animals do too!

We have boarded our cats a few times at Creature Comforts and have always had an outstanding experience. We're impressed with the friendly, caring staff who show a genuine love for animals. It's comforting to know there is such a good place to board them as we have had bad experiences with other local places in the past. Our friend boards her dogs their often and she is extremely happy with them too. I can't say enough good things about Creature Comforts.

Just moved to the area and needed a checkup for my cat who has a history of urinary issues. They were extremely helpful and even followed up with an email explaining my cat's diagnosis in more detail. I really appreciated the time they spent thoroughly checking my cat and making sure his needs were met.

They do not look after the dogs as expected. They just leave them outside in the heat in a small enclosure. The poor animals neglected barking can be heard throughout the neighborhood. I would not feel comfortable leaving my pet with them.
