Dogwood Pet Hospital Loves Park, Illinois

We have been utilizing Dogwood for years and have been so happy with how they've treated us and our animals. The care and compassion they possess for these fur babies is amazing. The vet techs are kind and knowledgeable. We usually see Arielle R. and Andrea S. We also use Dr. O as our vet. He is so smart and thorough. I can't say enough good things about him! I'm so thankful we have him. We have always rescued animals and so we've had animals with behavioral issues, health issues, bad habits etc and Dogwood always help us conquer any problems we've faced. I appreciate them so, so much.

They have gotten WAY too busy to provide good care lately . Can barely get through the phone lines , always put on hold for 20-30 minutes, wrong information given , made to wait 20 minutes plus just to drop off samples … on and on. Phone calls not returned, miscommunications. Beyond frustrating when you have a sick dog and need help. Hire more staff or stop taking new patients . Service is abysmal.

Everyone here seems to genuinely care about your animals, they try to do everything in their power to make your pets comfortable. 10/10

Great staff and fantastic doctors, create a place that treats your four legged babies like their own. I have had all my pets under their care and they helped me thru devestating thrombocytopenia with one boy to maintaining another who has seizures. They have the knowledge to help in so many ways and the heart to help the pet parent be the best we can be.

Wonderful friendly service. You can tell they really care. My regular vet actually recommended I see Dr Maxwell for my puppy's broken leg because she doesn't do orthopedic care. He was able to do a consultation and show me how well my pup had healed and take him out of the cast earlier than initially expected.

Would not let me come in with my dog even though I've been vaccinated and have a mask. Finding a new vet

Love Dogwood! They always go above and beyond for my pups. I appreciate that they have some hours on Saturday as I can't always make it during the week if I have to schedule an appointment or pick up meds.

Great staff and veterinarians. Compared to someone of the other places in the area it would be almost impossible to fine anyone else who puts as much love and care into treating their patients as they do. My dog had broken her leg and needed to have it surgically repaired. I had called almost 30 pet hospitals and out of all of them dogwood was the only one who was willing to help save her leg. Not only were they able help. They are one of only a few pet hospitals that do a special procedure to fix broken bones. Which was a big factor in helping my girl coco as she is a big girl (99lbs). The other amazing part was the cost of the surgery. They only charged half of what other hospitals were wanting to fix her leg. Which was a huge relief since my family isn't in the greatest place financially. The price even included a few follow up visits to in sure everything was healing correctly.

We always have a great experience at Dogwood, but today was even better. The vet tech was GREAT!! And we really like Dr. Lamont. She is so very kind.

Dr. Maxwell and his staff did a great job on Ruby Rose! Her leg was very badly broken. She is home fully recovered!

Misdiagnosed my step daughter's dog with colitis when in fact he had a brain tumor. That's a pretty huge difference. Then wouldn't respond to my email. Would not recommend.

Unfortunately since Dogwood has been taken over by Vetcor, the mission of the establishment has changed. No longer is it a personal experience with your pet but a mechanical appointment with up selling services being priority. They have also up until June 20th continued to leave people and their dogs waiting in hot cars up to 100 degrees for Covid reasons? Funny how all those corporate people are going to the doctor, getting hair cuts, take their dogs to groomers etc. By not letting owners in with pets you have increased your cash flow by not dealing with the owners. Pets in... Pets out. Waiting for a half hour because phone lines are busy in the parking lot just to give you a parking space number! Shame on you Vetcor. You have taken advantage of a bad situation for financial gain. I will find a new vet not owned by you! I feel sorry for your employees as they have taken the brunt of it as they are the only sounding board there is.

Excellent vets and very nice people

I adopted Zizzy Sept 2020.. He rnded up having a mass removed...and now going thru heartworm treatment. Everyone been fantastic with Ziggy and me..Great staff her at dogwood and they have been thru so much with the crazy human parents not able to go in with their fur babies. God Bless this group.

This place is the bomb. The staff and doctors are absolutely amazing, my cat needed emergency surgery and they were able to fit him in right away. They have taken such good care of him and I am forever grateful for everyone at this hospital????????‍⬛

We've been going to Dr. Maxwell for over 30 years. All of the Vets and Technicians do great work.

We use both the veterinarian services and the boarding. They always take great care of Pepper!

Being new to the area, didn't think I'd find a replacement veterinarian to replace my other one. Well I was pleasantly surprised on my first visit. Very caring staff!
