Happiness is Pets Lombard, Illinois

Over the last year, I have purchased 2 dogs from Happiness is Pets in Lombard. Toy Poodle (1yr) and a Shih Poo(7mos). Both experiences were great and both of my dogs are healthy with no problems to report. I read some of the negative reviews, which I never experienced in the few times I have been to the store. I tried going through the shelters before actually buying my pups. I always got the run around with the shelters, when trying to adopt. It was always not a fit. This process was less stressful and I'm happy with my choice.

I found my maltese here when she was 3 months old..she is now 2yrs old and the love of my life! Very happy and healthy and crazy in a good way..meet Remi everyone!!

Cruel transport and display of pets

My daughters went to look at the puppies since we are considering getting one. The girl that was there did not allow them to play or touch any of the puppies. She said "due to covid" however she allowed a white couple to play with the puppies. When asked again about the "covid" rule she stated "only serious inquiries" this is very rude and discriminatory if you ask me. We will have to look for our future puppy somewhere else!

I am definitely wary of puppy stores I went there last week to inquire about a puppy. Location was clean! Puppies seemed to be taken care of and well fed and happy, the workers were busy cleaning, and the girl on the counter was informative assisting me with all my questions. Did not walk out with a puppy but will be going in again to see if they have the one I’m looking for

This place should be SHUT DOWN. the puppies look miserable. They’re walking in their own feces. No doubt that this place supports puppy mills. Also, unbelievably expensive. Nearly $5,000 for a puppy. Do your research people! Do not support this business!

We bought our mini goldendoodle here over a year ago. First I just want to say he is the sweetest, happiest, most friendly and loving puppy in the entire world. I love him with my whole heart. That being said, he has has many many health issues. I don’t know if that’s a breeder issue or a doodle issue but just thought I would put that out there. Giving 4 stars because sometimes I do feel the 3,200 price tag was a bit much. But he is so sweet and so amazing it has all been worth it. I am still torn on pet stores in general. Their website showcases the breeders they use, which look lovely and safe. So I hope that’s true. But no matter the case, my puppy Charlie that we got here was awesome. Check out went very smooth and we took him home that day. He’s about 1.5 years old now. :)

Katrina whatever her name is. Was really rude. Such bad customer service if she doesn’t like her job she shouldn’t work there as simple as that. I was looking to buy a golden doodle and asked to see it. “She said this isn’t play time”. Why would I buy a puppy by just looking at it. Then on top of that another golden doodle was shaking and said she probably had a bad dream. The golden doodle was shaking the whole time I was there. I don’t think anyone should work there if they’re not informed about dogs. She has very bad customer service. Just go home and do unemployment.

Worst customer service experience. We will never buy from there.

Katrina needs to get fired for being rude and for getting me fired just because she didn’t feel important

This puppy shop was very expensive in rude, the puppies looked so sad. besides the price I was willing to spend the money, but when I asked a worker can I hold a puppy she responded “do you just want to play with it or are you buying it”. however, it was another couple that was holding a dog in I asked were they purchasing and she start to stutter saying she not sure.

I was appalled, hurt and confused by the treatment I recieved by the super rude arrogant sales woman here considering I have purchased 2 of my dogs here moons ago. I arrived with my 2 grand children ages 3 and 6 the place was empty except for 2 women that were together looking at dogs. We were hoping to be able to purchase a pup for my grandchildren except the lady said that because of covid that there was not going to be any petting or showing of the dogs. "I said to her but the places is empty." as you can see by my photos which I took today. She said Oh but it will be very busy in 20 minutes. We left broken hearted. I'm believing the reason why she did not wish to give us the proper customer service that we are entitled to as a customer was because of my 2 grandchildren seeing how gregarious they were maybe she took offense to that. She did us a favor as their dogs are way overpriced at this time ranging from $3500 to almost 5000 for a dog that you could adopt or get from a breeder for half the price or less. As we were driving away I decided to park my car in front of the shop and take a peek inside and there were the two women in a stall with a puppy. Shame on them. I will never step a foot in there or recommend this shop to anyone... Go to a breeder or to an adoption agency. Even though these poor pups need rescuing from this horrid place. According to the report, Certificates of Veterinary Inspection indicate that Chicagoland stores in the Happiness Is Pets chain bought puppies from numerous puppy mills across the Midwest, including breeders in Missouri, Iowa and Indiana.Dec 11, 2012

Good people extremely high priced

Lady working was super rude.. My son was asking to see a dog and she’s like no we’re actually not taking dogs out just for play... Of course with an arrogant attitude. But little does she know we were thinking of getting another dog. Talk about bad customer service. Definitely lost me as a customer. Try being nicer and more welcoming.

If I could give 0 starts I would absolutely give them, I went for a training day and Katrina a simple worker just like all of us, was absolutely rude , horrible attitude, has no respect. It was my first day she treated me bad didn’t even explain well how to do the work there, send me home for no reason , just because “ Katrina “ said so. She’s not a manager or anything just a simple worker like all of as, but thinks she’s the boss there.

0 starts to this place don't get me wrong is a great place ,super clean and everything but Katrina a worker from there super rude she should be fired.

Bought my precious Harley Quinn

This place should not be open. Adopt not shop !!!! These poor puppies are in small cages and the staff are not very educated on the different breeds. I will never purchase 2,000 dollar puppy that could be sick or have health issues due to backyard breeders.. This place is so unnecessary. There are plenty of dogs at the shelter that you can give a loving home to. They too can be great dogs, they just need a chance.. Please think before you come to a place like this.

Cleanest most well run pet store specializing in puppies I've ever been too!

***UPDATE**** My puppy had a hard time transitioning home and lost his appetite/couldn’t keep any food down. I went to the vet Happiness is Pets recommended and there he was given fluids, prescription wet food and a calorie supplement. I spoke again with Sarah and because of their 30 day policy they agreed to cover the medical expenses. I received a response within 1 business day and got confirmation that a check had been mailed a day or so later. Again this place was very professional and kind. 10/10 would recommend because other than that change of environment my puppy is perfectly healthy! ____________________________________________ My experience with Happiness is Pets in Lombard was wonderful. I dealt with Sarah from the first phone call to the day I finally picked up my cockapoo pup. Sarah is fantastic! Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. She answered all my questions when I was financing the loan and gave me tips on how to take care of my puppy at home. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a happy, healthy dog.

There prices are outrageous asking 3 and 4 thousand for dogs normal breeds they've gone plum insane

Place charges 3 to 4 thousand for dogs, what a rip off, and taking advantage of people during these hard times.

This place is amazing I got my Boston terrier Cece It was very fun and fast the puppy was very pricey but we had options and they were saling fast we got her she playful and nice so I’m happy with her thanks to happiness is pets

Good place to get a puppy. Lots of different ones to choose from. Friendly, helpful service.

Tried to make me wear a mask. Went to this new place right across the street I think it's called puppy sale. Let me right in. I'll spend my money there from now on
