This is the only place I will take my dogs after trying several local vets. Dr. Carlson is very straightforward about pricing and has always worked with me to determine what's necessary vs precautionary before doing anything so I don't get charged for a bunch of random things I can't understand.

Great Team. I’ve called several vet clinics before being referred to them. I was nervous as a time dog owner. Heather made me feel so much better. While my Princesss Bee was being seeing, the doctor answered all my questions and was very patient.

Their quality of work was terrible - my cat had worms for 2 months and they kept giving me medications that didn’t work. They also have a new policy where animals are allowed in the building but not their owners even with vaccinations and masks on… how am I going to give you COVID? They are an ignorant bunch and I wouldn’t leave my pet alone with them for one second. GO TO SOMEONE ELSE!!!!

They treated chester great even left them a test sample B4 we walked in!

Super friendly staff and extremely flexible having a new puppy is a stressful time especially when the little thing turns you into a hypochondriac. They have been extremely flexible with me calling and being able to see her same day or the next day. Highly recommend.

Everyone on the staff treated my dog gentle and with respect.. They helped me try and prolong my dog life.. I could always call with any issues and get a response right away.. I love this staff!! ♥️

Wow, we had such a great experience! The staff was so friendly and professional! My daughter just rescued a cat and we took him in because he was sneezing frequently. They did a thorough check on him and were so kind and compassionate with him. They let my daughter ask a million questions and took their time in answering them all. They told us to call anytime if we had any questions! They will definitely be Archie’s forever vet office!

The vets here are all great. I've been bringing my cats & dogs here for years and I've never doubted that they wanted the best for them.

They take good care of my 5! Very COVID safe too.

Dr Carlson is a great vet, doesn't recommend pricey products or foods your dog doesn't really need. The techs are all very helpful and friendly, they're very easy to talk to and get clear helpful answers about concerns with your pup.

These guys are awesome! They worked me in immediately as a new customer when my dog was having some issues. They also called to their other location to find an appointment when my cat was having issues and they didn't have any openings at the Iowa City location. Friendly service, and they took excellent care of my animals.

Excellent vet care and friendly dedicated staff. The doctors are pleasant and gentle with your animals. Instructions are clear and the vets are very open to questions you may have.

My husband and I are taking care of our son's fifteen year old cat while he attends a wedding out of town. Morris is hyperthyroid and her age is causing her some problems. This morning she seemed weak and wobbly to me. In tears I called Veterinary Associates. As soon as I said Morris, they knew who I was calling about, and I was able to get her in within the hour. Since my husband is allergic to cats and dogs, we have never had either. So I sure felt out of my league. Janet took us to a room and was incredibly kind as I explained through my tears my worries. Dr. Carlson then came in and took her to an examination room to give her fluids and an antibiotic. When he returned, he gently and carefully explained what we needed to do and how to do it. He said, "If it were my cat, I'd treat her this way." He put my heart at ease. I feel so lucky that we drew such wonderful people to help us make the best decisions possible.

They have two locations that I know of. One near highway 6 and the other near the east side. I believe it is actually called East Side Pet Clinic. The staff here is very friendly, and it is pretty easy to get in and make appointments. We've been with them for about 6 months now with our Mastiff.

Love this place! They have been nothing but helpful for our new pup, and always encourage to call for questions with a new dog.

Even a couple months after we've moved away and they know they won't get any new business from us, they still have sent updated scripts as long as they could, emailed more documents when we needed them (not like they had to), and still are great on the phone. It'll be a pain finding a new place but for 2.5 years they were a very solid piece that we knew our pets were good with (multiple regular visits, and a surgery, all worth it and done spectacularly).

I called Veterinary Associates in the middle of a snow storm on a Monday at 3pm and told them my regular vet is about 30 minutes away but my cat is very sick. They got me in last minute, had excellent bed side manner, and my cat (who doesn't come out when people are around) was friendly to the vet tech. They explained everything that was happening with my cat (my regular vet told me they would need to keep him over night, possibly for a few days) and had us totally taken care of right away. Because I was there last minute I was unprepared for the bill and they helped me set up a payment plan. Best of all: they emailed me after a day had passed to check on my cat. I'm going to be going to Veterinary Associates from now on.

I have been taking my new puppy here to keep him up to date on shots. The staff is very friendly, and they explain everything well.
