Forest View Animal Hospital was recommended to us by a neighbor after poor experiences with other vets. We have stayed with them over the years and highly recommend.

We have used Forest View for years and greatly appreciate their friendliness and the quality of care they provide to our dogs. Highly recommend you give them a try next time your animal(s) need a visit.

I brought my recently adopted dog in for a preliminary examination. On the plus side the scheduling is efficient and wait times are short. The veterinary assistants and one of the people behind the reception who initially interact with your pet (and the pet's caregiver) are friendly and helpful. The vet is very friendly and really tries to get to know the animal and clearly enjoys his work. On the minus side is that the whole visit was completely useless. I told the scheduling assisitant that the shelter had mentioned a couple of things that needed to be checked with a stool sample. Since my pet had been also been suffering severe diarrhea for a few days prior to the appointment I clearly explained the issue to both the front office as well as the veterinary and the assistants and was told that the sample would be analyzed for a lot of things to try to determine the cause and that I would receive a call back the next day. Did not hear back the next day so I phoned them the following day that they were open. I was curtly told that they only phoned people back if there was an issue since they did not have time to phone everyone back. I have to admit that I was a bit stunned by the response and hung up, but phoned back within a couple of minutes to try to explain what the issue was and that I was hoping to get an solution to my pet's health issue. I was told that the sample was only tested for parasites and that since the result of that testing was negative that there had been no need to phone me back. I am sure that the people working here are knowledgeable professionals but I would think that the primary goal of health care is to try to solve health issues. Since this does not seem to be the case here I will find a different provider.

All that matters to this clinic is the bottom line. Forget about patient loyalty and empathy towards pet owners and helping to make a most difficult situation a little bit easier as the loss of a pet is drawing near. When your pet is sick and dying (my dog was a patient here for 16.5 years) they quickly showed me to the door with no empathy or compassion. Their end of life protocol is appalling. My 16.5 years of being a loyal patient meant absolutely nothing when it came down to my time of need in trying to help my dog when she was sick, and ultimately dying, and asking for two weeks to be seen during normal business hours. This was not a middle of the night request to be seen. They simply didn’t care - “just take her to the ER,” was their bothered response. There is no loyalty or compassion to lifelong patients. There is no kindness, empathy or compassion for end of life care. Instead of providing loving care to a dying animal that was their patient for its entire life, and giving much needed professional support, kindness, care and concern to a distraught pet owner through a heart breaking situation, they choose to ignore my repeated requests for an office visit. I was repeatedly told that they don’t have time and instructed me to go elsewhere. There was absolutely no flexibility or special consideration for a dying, geriatric, life long patient. I strongly suggest going elsewhere for veterinary care. They are corporate owned, so again, it’s about the bottom line. They don’t care about you or your pet. This is the best place in the area to take your pet for all health needs. Always friendly and accommodating team that truly loves what they do. I would highly recommend it.

Dr. Sholts is an excellent veterinarian and an extremely compassionate and caring individual. In addition is staff is second to none. We have been bringing our dogs to him for over 25 years and are dreading the day he chooses to retire.

I've been seeing Dr. Sholts for my 3 pets for over 15 years and would give he and his team the highest rating in all categories. Even after I moved away from Hoffman Estates, I would never consider going to another vet. The care and consideration are well worth the extra drive!

The vet did a very good job of explaining the issues we had with our dog and provided practical solutions to help her without trying to sell us a bunch of medications or unnecessary procedures.

I love Forest View Animal Hospital and awesome staff! They are very knowledgeable and take the time to really talk to you about anything you have concerns about. I have been taking my dog to them for about 8 years and I am so happy with every experience.

Now Forest View has just added Dr. Gus who is so deeply knowledgeable and caring. Our new kitten was not eating much for about a week last year. We took him to another hospital twice and they could not figure out why but charged us for both treatments. We finally found Forest View. Dr. Gus told us exactly what happened and what was the most effective and affordable way to treat our baby boy. Dr. Gus also shared with us valuable information about cats nutrition, behaviors, and health. This is a very professional place to get your pets the best care.

The doctors are really caring. They always over everything with me in a manner I understand. You can't go wrong with this veterinary. The office staff is absolutely wonderful. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

Dr Schultz has to be the most caring vet I have ever met. I’ve met good vets but he has given our pets great care the last 10 years+. If you need a local vet, I would highly recommend him and the vet clinic.

Dr Sholts was our pets doctor for 16 years and he has always tried to help us in the best way he could. Today he had to help us put our loving Daisy to rest and he did it with the respect she deserved. We haven't met more gentle and loving doctor than him. If we ever decide to have another baby dog, he will be the one who we will always use.

Went there with my puppy Baloo for a new insight on an odd issue. Dr. Bufton was extremely understanding and took everything into consideration. We might be “chasing zebras” but with a full team approach we might have the chance to turn this zebra into a horse, or at least control it. ????

I had brought my former dog to the same vet for 13.5 years, larger practice, not always the best service, and never realized a vet practice could be the way Forest View is. *came in to edit that I have been bringing my 2 very eccentric dogs here for over a year and a half now and am still so pleased and blown away by the attentiveness and care not only from Dr. B (who is a shining example of what a vet should be) but the entire staff- They've created a welcoming, safe, and kind environment for anyone with a pet they love. I always know my girls are in good hands if we need to pop in for one reason or another, and have never left feeling their needs havent been addressed.

We would like to take a moment to share our 32 year experience regarding the excellent care provided by Dr. Sholts, and include Dr. Bufton in the more recent years. Our family has entrusted 4 rabbits, 3 cats, and 2 dogs to the TEAM at Forest View Animal Hospital. Everyone has always been kind, competent and respectful. The Doctors truly listened to our needs and expectations for our pets' health and well being. Appointments have been easy to make for any type of care needed. The overall environment has also been friendly, professional and accommodating to both our pets and to us. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to care for their pet at Forest View!
