She basically killed our dog. Never gave him the proper attention or proper diagnosis or treatment. Just wants to go home quickly with her pet pig! Always rushing him out of her office and never considered any kind of diagnosis. I hate her !!!!! Our dog died suddenly because of heartworm but she said it was stomach problems! NEVER TAKE YOUR PRECIOUS CAMPION THERE!!!!! She doesn't care!!!! We lost all his golden times to save his life. Because of her He died!. He was very very precious dog and unconditional companion. Sincerely Heartbreaking.????

I love that this is a veterinary office that incorporates a holistic approach . I have been taking my pets to Dr.Rykoff for years and that won’t change ! My pup uses the water treadmill that is offered due to a leg issue and we have used the laser as well in the past for some inflammation ! Jose is very nice and helps every step Of the way when my pup uses the treadmill . I also just adopted a dog from Dr.Rykoff who has a non profit animal rescue called Fur Keeps and there are many adoptable dogs and cats !!! They are on pet finder ! That was a great experience for me !!! I love my new pup !

This vet is unreliable, unprofessional, & honestly just the worst. We were constantly worried about the dog when in the care of Dr Rycoff. There was such a lack of communication and disrespect towards their visitors (humans and pets alike). Go literally anywhere but here, folks!

This has to be the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. During the 6 month period of this “doctor” taking care of my dogs heartworm treatment I experienced little to no help at all. I would show up the Elgin location several times to find that she was never there, would try calling never a response. When I would go to the Hoffman location or called same experience, no answer, and when I was able to go in and see Dr. Ryoff she would give me little to no information about his heartworm. There was an incident where I went in she took a blood sample from our dog because he was having accidents on our bed when I told her about the diet he was on she would just tell me that it was the worst food to give him and I should switch to something else. Not to mention she said my dogs coat looked terrible. Who says that to a patient about their animal. When it was time for his heartworm check, again, impossible to get a hold of her. When we did finally get a hold of her, she took a blood sample and then fled the country for two weeks without giving a notice. Tried calling both offices and this time the phones didn’t even have a voicemail at the end so there was no way for me to leave a message, I had no idea what was going on or what to do until my girlfriend and I decided we would just show up at the Hoffman location and some guy who does PT there let us know she was gone. He was also unaware that his phone for their office wasn’t even working. I’m glad to say that our dog is heartworm free and we can now seek REAL professional help.

It is shocking to me that she had so many good reviews. This lady was SO unprofessional I could not believe. I HIGHLY recommend going somewhere with a REAL professional.

I had a very poor experience here with Dr Rykoff. She was very unresponsive, didn’t answer her phone calls at all, and when I had an appointment for my chihuahua Consuela, she wasn’t even in office. How am I supposed to have an appointment when the doctor isn’t even there? Absolutely ridiculous. I absolutely do not recommend this doctors office. My friends took their dog here as well and had the same problems. Time to find someone new! Save yourself some time and money and find a different place to take your pet.

I recommend you don't walk but run away from this so-called "Dr." If you want to be mystified, not responded to, questioning the health of your pet, then by all means visit this doctor. If, however, you're looking for quality care and responsiveness, I recommend looking elsewhere where you'll be heard and get answers.

She made my dog deaf with her negligence. She refused to check his ears on his wellness visit, brushing the issue off as mundane. Doctor Debra Danger is what the sign should say, or Doctor Death. The other review on down the list states that she killed another patient's dog with her negligence as well, by sending the dog home and then it ended up dying shortly after. I am actually thinking about suing her if my dog doesn't get his hearing back. Took my dog for a wellness check. Mentioned my concerns about the fact that his hearing seemed to be an issue when it had not normally been. She attributed it to his age. 2 weeks later, his ears were swollen and he had gone completely deaf. Took him back and had to argue with Dr.Debra Danger for 20-30 minutes about why she didn't want to get an otoscope and look at his ears. I became suspicious at her reluctance and insisted she have a look. At one point she told me she could refuse service to me, and this was because I asked her to follow up on an issue that I had brought to her attention before. Long story short, I took him to another vet that confirmed 2 ear infections, and his ears were so swollen shut that the doctor could barely get the instrument past the lobe. The reason for his deafness. The new vet could not even tell if the eardrums had ruptured from the infection because of the swelling. Everyone has off days, but most people admit their mistakes rather than killing or harming your dog because they are embarrassed about their failures. If you are feeling lucky, by all means, go there, or keep going there. Don't say you weren't warned. 2 bad reviews is enough for me when one dog ends up dead and the other deaf. She also supports animal abusers. Google her name and you will see she bailed out a woman that was charged with abusing and torturing animals. I guess it pays to look people up before trusting a rating. Her excuse for bailing out the person was "It was her son's friend." That is one lethal lady. Take your animal there at your own risk.

She took my dog in last minute and I am so grateful! Literally thought he was going to die(first time dog owner)(hes my baby). She is very calm and collect, may come off as rude but its only because shes focused on the animals, she does it all for them! I am so grateful for her, she doesn't try to sell you product and if she does its bc its a brand she believes will work.

I would have loved to have given 0 stars...I’m not one to typically leave reviews but this felt necessary so no one else goes through what we had to. I would NEVER go back to this place ever again. And I would recommend you never do as well. The vet never answers the phone, never calls us back, and is never at either location when we’ve shown up. I had to wait weeks for my dogs heartworm results, only to find out she had left the country without giving us the results. You would think a vet would understand heartworm is time sensitive and forcing us to wait on HER is completely unacceptable. Unresponsive, unprofessional, and disrespectful are just a few adjectives I would use to describe this place. If you want your animal to have quality care do NOT see Dr. Rykoff. I cannot wait to go somewhere else and actually have a good experience with a vet. Calling her a vet and putting her in the same category as others who actually care for others and their animals does not seem appropriate. She’s no “vet”. Please spare yourselves and go somewhere else for not only your sake, but the safety and health of your pet.

Dr. Rykoff treats the underlying issue & not the symptom. This has made all the difference because Debo (my dog) is healing & not just masking symptoms. We rarely see the Vet anymore because he is doing so much better!

Disappointed doesn’t even begin to cover it. I’ve been trying to find a vet for my pet and I was unable to get any response from this “doctor”. The lack of professionalism, response, and care for pets and their families is astonishing. When you bring your fur baby to a WELLness center, you expect the care to be WELL. And let me just say, it was HELL! Fortunately, I was able to find somewhere else a few doors down with much better service. Please do not take your pets here if you have a heart and care about them. ????

Please don't go to treat here your pet if you don't want them to suffer. Dr. Rykoff is horrible doctor, doesn't use real medicine. My cat was suffering because of her incompetent treatment

My two dogs have been patients od Dr. Rykof and her staff for over 8 years now. Their skills, knowledge and dedication to animals is just amazing. The healing my two furry friends got thanks to skillful combination of naturopathic and modern medicine is beyond the words.

Very low cost and love how she knows what she is doing. Most vets are interested in making money.

Dr Deb Rykoff is one of the longest standing Holistic veterinarians in the Chicagoland area. Homeopathy, acupuncture, essential oils, laser, chiropractor, water therapy and so much more. Worth the drive from the city.

Negligent. Was told my dog had “kidney problems and anemia”. Nothing was prescribed or done for it, she didn’t even direct us to any other vet, only did a fluid treatment after I came in with my dog who was weak and had diarrhea and been vomiting for the past day. Was supposed to get phone call about my dogs bloodwork and when she called us, it was about the wrong dog. Tried going to get the bloodwork and the person at the desk told me he didn’t know where the vet was and couldn’t give us the bloodwork. Turned out my dog needed intensive iv treatment. Doctor Debra Rykoff, my dog is no longer here because of you.
