Efficient, professional and friendly staff.

Very nice and helpful people! I have two cats and have been trying to find a new vet for them as I recently moved apartments, and most of the places were not doing new patients but thankfully these people accommodated me within 15 days of me calling. The whole process was very easy, I took my cats to the hospital and somebody came out to take them from me and I was told to return back in 30 minutes to pick them up. The doctor called to explain and discuss with me the whole situation and their health and was very polite and nice!

I recommend reconsidering this vet and the positive reviews because if your pet has an urgent issue, they will not be available. They are overbooking, overworking staff, and putting profit over caring for your pet. My cat injured her eye, and when I called in, they said the next available appointment was middle of next month and I should go to emergency. The emergency vet charged $300 plus dollars for the eye exam and still told me to go back to my regular vet in 2-3 days. I switched vets and they fit me in that same week. I understand being short-staffed and I understand booking preventative care appointments (spaying, vaccine shots, etc.) weeks in advance, but they should reserve some appointments for urgent but not life threatening issues. Otherwise, what is the point of a regular vet? Plus, for the preventative care appointments, they were consistently late and I had to wait over 30 minutes to both drop off and pick up.

Everyone is so kind! They take their time to explain everything with no rush! Very affordable too!

Probably the most considerate and thoughtful veterinarians we've ever worked with.

This is not a caring veterinary practice. They will not accommodate emergency care for pets and do not get the care they do schedule done correctly. We had chosen to ignore the unnecessarily terse email from this office when we asked for our medical records. They have now chosen to misrepresent that we were abusive to them. We were not. They have a right to disagree with our reasons for being upset, but their post and email reflect our concern: Inability to accept criticism from an ongoing client who felt their attitude several times when a pet was needing immediate care were underwhelming. More importantly, they show a lack of empathy that a client is scared and emotional when their pet needs help. Not a great quality in a vet office.”

The Evanston Animal Hospital’s team is amazing. I trust them with my pets health & am never let down - their customer service team, techs, and veterinarians are all awesome, caring people.

Great care, but a little pricey. Worth it

My cat is TERRIFIED of going to the vet and is often sedated just for exams. Not at Evanston Animal Hospital because they are THAT amazing! If there is such a thing as a cat whisperer, the staff at Evanston Animal Hospital would definitely qualify. I can't say my cat enjoyed the experience but she at least didn't need to be sedated. If you are looking for an amazing, compassionate and extraordinary vet, look no further and make Evanston Animal Hospital your go-to vet!

I've always loved EAH and the incredibly kind, attentive people who work there--the staff, vet techs, and vets are all superb. My last dog tried to drag me inside every time we passed by to get treats and love. But recently caring for a dog who's scared of vet visits (and just about everything else) has made me realize how far above and beyond EAH goes to help every pet's specific needs. They've been seeing my extremely anxious dog twice a week, walking her around the clinic, and showering her with treats just to help her feel more comfortable. She's not easy to work with, and everyone is so caring and considerate. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

Dr. Gail and her team provided professional, compassionate, and accommodating service when my friend's beloved pet needed to be relieved of his suffering. Coming from out of town, we were not regular patients of Dr. Henry's, but were treated as if we were. I cannot recommend Dr. Gail and Evanston Animal Hospital enough. They are a top-notch group of people caring for animals and their owners alike.

I could not see my cat even though she couldn't breathe. Made an appointment for 3 weeks out.

Friendly and helpful staff; Dr. Henry is great and takes the time to answer all of my questions. Despite the challenges raised by Covid, the precautions are comprehensive and the appointment experience is very organized!

Dr. Henry and her team are wonderful. They helped care for my dog, Bernie, through some really tough times. They were always responsive and gave him the best care possible. We always felt supported. Bernie has since passed, but we've recently adopted our foster dog. We have no second thoughts about scheduling with them to care for our new addition.

I have nothing but great things to say about this vet office. They are always very polite and friendly which is not something you can find easily these days. They have helped us from day one with our newly adopted fur baby! He gets so excited as soon as he catches on to where we are going. He had to have a minor surgery and they were very helpful and easy to get in contact with anytime we had any questions or concerns. So needless to say we will forever be apart of the Evanston Animal Hospital family!

When we moved to Chicago a few years ago it was really hard to leave behind our former vet, but Dr. Henry instantly made us feel like our cats were well cared for. One of our cats gets terrified when she goes to the vet but Dr. Henry made her feel comfortable with the cat comfort spray, keeping her under her invisibility cloak (aka regular blanket) whenever possible, and being overall very gentle. We couldn't believe how quickly Dr. Henry did their checkup too. The rest of the staff was also extremely kind and patient with all of our questions. We also get their prescription dry food shipped directly to us from them at a decent price which is so helpful. Thanks for keeping our princesses happy and healthy!

My dogs like going here. All my questions and concerns are always explained. The response for labs/test results are quick. Costs for services are very fair.

Having seen almost all 5-star reviews we brought two baby cats into the hospital. I totally understand during the pandemic we should take social distance, but they did not tell us we cannot see the doctors in person during the appointment until we receive the appoint reminder (one day before the appointment) while we made appointment three weeks ago. From the reviews I learnt Dr. Henry is awesome but she/he seems not working there anymore, so keep it in mind. So another doctor sees our cats instead. She was nice and kind of patient. I asked her to do annual body check for my cats, she said everything is fine. I especially asked her to check their ears, she told me they looked good, but when they went back home and I checked myself, the ears are dirty and not good and I need to clean them myself. So not sure whether the doctor had a look or not. I also pointed out my cat’s fur sometimes attached with gentle dirt. She said she would cut the fur to make it clean, I said great, but she did not tell me one cut need $15 until I saw the bill. I had seizures at home too! I could do it myself. I pointed out just because I don’t know why she got it. Very unpleasant personal experience. I think this hospital need something more besides 5-stars.

I bring my 3 year old husky/blue heeler mix and they are patient and kind with him! He doesn’t like vets, but they work to calm him down.

The staff here treat my dogs with so much love and kindness and dont rush through anything. They are very helpful over the phone if I'm ever having a problem with the dogs and I wouldn't trust anybody else with my pets. Highly recommend!

I originally wrote a pretty negative review on these folks without allowing them to address my frustrations and clearly communicate why and what was going on with my dog's issue. I spoke, at length, with Dr. Henry about the situation and they took the time to explain to me what actions need to be taken and why. That conversation was exactly what I have been needing in the six months that I've been a customer, and I can't thank them enough for taking the time to lay out, in plain english, what was going on. I was considering finding a new vet, but not anymore. Thank you, EAH!
