Tail Gate Elmhurst, Illinois

I'm SO glad I stopped going to Camp Bow Wow and started bringing my puppy here (due to a horrible experience at CBW). These day cares are night & day...trust me. Tail Gate is privately owned, not a franchise and they don't give your dog naps during the day, unlike the other place. The Staff shows enthusiasm and love for all dogs and my puppy and I are always greeted with a warm welcome...that speaks volumes to me. I feel very safe & secure bringing my pup here and he loves his playtime. He's usually always worn out when we get home which scores major points with me! They also have boarding and grooming available. I wouldn't hesitate to give them a try..clean & professional facility. You get what you pay for and these guys are great!

I recommend this place 100%. Tail Gate is Simba's favorite place to go! He is a 90+ lb. puppy and every time we pick him up he is completely exhausted. I looked around and tried many different places in area, but this was our top choice since we know he will be completely "cage free." He has boarded on many occasions for weeks straight and attends day care regularly. The staff is amazing. They tend to your needs and most importantly the needs of your dog. They socialize the dogs and place them according to their energy level and size. All are welcome no matter the breed, medication or in my case special diet. The grooming department is also top notch. It's a win win; you drop off your dog for day care and pick him up after work squeaky clean! This is him after a half day of day care.

Wouldn't trust anywhere else. Feel like family there. Several places have cameras now, not sure if this is something they are thinking about, but would be an added comfort, especially for boarding.

Review for the grooming services since that is the only service we use at Tail Gate, but wow! We really loved how our dog came out looking and this is the first time we schedule another appointment right away. We have been just about everywhere in the area and can really speak to how great of a job the young man working here does! Highly recommend.

No communication and charged for service that never happened

Exceptional facilities, very clean. Check in and check out process is on point. Staff is very friendly and for sure my dog is worn out when she gets home.

I have been dropping off my now 1 year old Rat Terrier here for just about 5 months. I only get to take her once a week but that one day has now become her special treat. I do not have any idea what goes on behind those doors after I leave but when I drop her off she cant wait to get in there, and when I pick her up she can't wait to take a nap!! They are awesome. They really care for our dog. Jaymo always has a great a time there. She comes back worn out. I liked that they post pictures of the dogs while they are there.

The Tail Gate team is fantastic. They truly appreciate and love the animals they take care of. When we moved and we're in temporary housing, they worked through some issues our dog was experiencing. They are a great staff and now that we have settled in a different state we miss them even more!!!! Thanks Tail Gate! @soupsammie and @beachpig

Tail Gate is an excellent place to keep your dogs for boarding or daycare. Our dogs get extremely excited when they visit.

My husband and I took both our dogs here for a weekend trip. We were running late for drop off and I remember the person we spoke to mention to make sure they went potty because if they didn’t, they’d have to wait until the following morning (it was not even 5pm). I thought that was weird but figured it was fine. Potty run successful, in they went. Since taking them home, we have run up $300+ in vet bills. Both of them had UTIs, both of them had some form of “pink eye”. The eye infection most likely one infected the other, but the UTIs were severe. How often are these dogs being let out? I should have trusted my gut when I thought that was weird and spoke up. Please speak up for your dogs during boarding. This was not the first time they’ve been boarded, but will be the last at this facility.

My dog seems to like it there. And she gets a good report card lol The staff is very friendly.

Tail Gate for Dogs puppy class is awesome! It’s 6 weeks long... My puppy started class at 12 weeks old! Paula was our instructor ( and has lots of knowledge) you can tell she loves to share her training knowledge! We learned to sit , lay down, walk on a leash , come when called and sit stay! Some of these things were so easy to learn.....others took longer! I can’t wait to take the next class ( Family Dog) I highly recommend this puppy class! It’s held in a private location and in a clean environment! All dogs need proof of vaccinations! I purchased a collar and leash for class .....additional items were a 15ft lead and different training collar! That’s all I needed to be a successful owner! I give the class 5 out of 5 stars!

After attending For Your K9 for puppy class and not being satisfied with the training methods used, I decided to give Tail Gate a try based on a friends recommendation. I can't express how happy I've been with the trainers and the facility. I highly recommend!!!

Excellent staff to care for everyone's fur babies for daycare, boarding, grooming and training. My 2 dogs love it.
