I am so traumatized at the way my little Chihuahua was euthanized. She was quite old and sick so it was time. I've had other pets that had to cross the rainbow bridge and NEVER had an experience like this. Not even with Dr Mike. She didn't get her leg shaved and even though her leg was so little he used a huge needle. I wasn't allowed to hold her and she would have been more at ease in my arms. There was no sedation first to calm her even though we paid quite a bit. My poor baby yelped the whole time and the way he held her she could only see the Dr Mike. I can only hope she knew I was there. The one shot they said she'll just fall asleep and her heart would gradually stop. It killed her instantly. Sedation first would have allowed her to stay in my arms to have it done. This way she wouldn't have felt abandoned. I'm so traumatized! She was my baby. I've had severe health problems the last 10 years and she was my emotional support animal. I miss her dearly. I can only hope that they are better with everyone else's fur babies. We've been to this vet for years. The only vet we've used and this really surprised me. I just don't know anymore. I might also add that I've not seen the usual staff in awhile. The tech that held her I've never seen. Idk if he's even a tech. Smh! Usually Dr Mike would get a 5 star rating from me

My friend Cassidy found Clover on the side of the road hit by a car. Cass called multiple vets/animal hospitals in the surrounding areas but wasn’t able to find anyone to perform the procedure/it was not affordable. The one animal hospital offered to just euthanize Clover. Cassidy called Fort Russell’s and they were more than accommodating. Clover had to have her tail amputated & I was the one who adopted Clover after her surgery. Fort Russell’s was professional, accommodating, and empathetic. I now take my other cat there as well. They really know how to take care of your animals!

I called a few weeks ago to set up an appointment for my dog. While speaking with the girl on the phone I told her my dogs history & about his very high trigger anxiety & how it was borderline aggression towards specific people. I told them what medication he was on already & was wondering about if they had another medication they may recommend for him bc his sometimes works sometimes doesn't. I was told they usually recommend (can't remember the name of the medication) so I was excited. I went & got his rabies shot & asked about the medication. I was told they don't really prescribe that stuff. That I should use a sented collar or something else. I told them that we've tried everything exercise & CBD & anything else & nothing helped. He went on to tell me it's bc hes a German Shep. I said well I've had this breed my entire life & none have ever been this anxious. & he said well they aren't all the same... Well needless to say they would not prescribed even the medication he was already on. The trip was absolutely useless & I am beyond frustrated. I offered to get his vet records for them from the old vet to help with anything & they said they didn't need them. So now my dog won't have his medicine for awhile until I can get into somewhere else. I do not recommend them at all!

These vet faculty does both equine and small animals. Great vet friendly doesnt do unnecessary tests. Mike is helpful and does barn calls.

Yesterday I had the incredibly hard decision to put my 15 year-old Chiwawa down after a stroke. The doc and nurse were incredibly compassionate and caring. They were quick, informative and sensitive with the procedure allowing me to be part of her last moments. I thank you and your staff.

What the... cancel all appointments and close the office for 6 weeks, until March 31st because the vet is on vacation. No access to records or anything. We won’t be back.
