Have brought my cats and dogs here for years. Great Veterinarians. Miss the old downtown location, but worth the trip.

After 20 years of loyalty we will be taking our animals to a new Vetrrenarian. This is not the clinic Doctor Allison took pride in. Doctor Makeenzie Hellert could not be any less emotional and dismissive. After noticing a major change in our 5yr old Chihuahuas behavior (shaking and hiding in corners) we decided she needed to be seen. It was midday when we called for an appt. We were told that an emergency fee would be applied because the clinic was full. It wasn't after hours and I voiced my displeasure with the additional charge but decided to have her seen. When we arrived my dog was stressed and panting heavily (she hates car rides). The VA took our girl to the backroom to be evaluated without us. After 10min they returned with her and had us wait in a room for Dr Hellert. When the doctor came in she stated our girl is blind and that she would need to take blood from her for more diagnosis. ( She already had drawn blood before asking our permission) Although we would have agreed she had chosen to do so without our knowledge. We were referred to a ophthalmologist in Madison Wisconsin and given no direction on how to deal with a blind dog. We left feeling Hellert was dismissive, uncaring and unprofessional (who takes blood before asking permission?) it was hard to believe she was blind because she was tracking and reacting to directional hand test as soon as we got her home A week later we were seen by the doctor in Madison. Diagnoses - Our dog is not blind, she sees just fine. She may have hurt her back or have some neurological issue but she is in fact not blind. We were informed that stressed dogs eyes sometimes don't dilate properly. (car rides stress her and PetMed was told that) After learning that Hellert misdiagnosed our girl, dismissively sent us on our way and up charged us for it. I called to voice my displeasure. I was told that I was rude to her staff (not true) and she was quick to let me know that she would send my dog records to the next vetrrenarian of our choice. After 20 years we will be finding a new caregiver for our fur babies. Dr Hellert you are uncaring, unprofessional and do not represent PetMed the way Dr Allison Johnson did when we chose the clinic to take care of our fur babies.

We take our Savannah monitor here for health issues and the staff and vet are amazing. They care for our Nessie as if she were their own. We absolutely love them!!

Evasive. Dismissive. Did not adress concerns. I'm so frustrated!. When i call to double check dosages cuz i think they might be off, i want more than just a "Yup. Checked. Its correct." EXPLAIN it to me. Break it down. Or at least give me the data so i can break it down for myself. Maybe if they let u talk to the actual doc it'd be different, but they dont. Idk if they're just used to dumbing stuff down for people, but it makes them seem evasive & dishonest. As far as i can figure (and it isnt hard) my furry buddy is only getting 3 tiny mg of actual medicine per dose (For his weight thats about 4mg/kg). And everything i can find online (unofficially) shows the dose should be about 30-50mg/kg. Thats roughly 10x what she actually has him on! I think thats a valid concern deserving of more than just "Thats cuz what u have is more concentrated" Well isnt the concentration right there on the bottle? 100mg/ml x 1.00 - Theres only 100mg total in that one ml i was given. And the dose should be like 30mg shouldn't it? So thats only like 3 doses. "Well where are u getting that info? Why do u say it should be 30mg?"... Does it matter?? What IS the recommended dose per kg?. Never got an answer

They were amazing with the spay and neutering of our two kittens. It's a tough time and they go out of their way.

The staff is amazing! They were quick to react and help. My daughter's cat wa n labor and having issues. They took her in within an hour come over others that we had called for were like well she's going to have to wait a couple of days. They were just so concerned and so caring.

I took my parakeet that had a injury with its leg. They got me in the next day. They were very courteous and helpful with letting me know what sex he could be and getting him meds for his leg. They were very through in answering all my questions and everything.

They are very kind and compassionate to both the animals and the human parents. They are also reasonably priced. I would recommend to any fur baby mom or dad!

Called the day before to confirm appointment for new client and was told to be at Petmed at 7:20 AM. Sign on the door says Petmed opens at 7:30 AM. Now 7:53 AM. Still not open. This will probably be my only visit with this vet. Once the clinic opened it was discovered that none of the information I gave the clinic was recorded from the previous day either. Overall a bad experience for a potential new customer.

Best place to take your pet's The vet's are the best along with the Girls who welcome you. Can't say enough about how well they take care of our baby.

We've used PetMed for years with our Cooper and wouldn't trust anyone else with our new family member Henry.

I was new to the area and my animals and I had experienced a stressful event in our home. My pup wasn’t feeling so good but I wasn’t established at any vet nearby yet. I called all around dubuque and this was the first place able to work me promptly via curbside, called me for consent on examinations, and were so kind and caring to my dog. I so appreciate their care for us!

They're as good a Vet as you could ever hope to find. We've taken our Brittany, Josie, to PetMed for over 14 years and each of the staff greats her with care and enthusiasm and they treat her like she was their own. We've had the same experience over the past 1 1/2 years with our daughter's Aussie, Maple. They make the time to get to know your pet and you and are there to help with the good times and with the tough decisions. Highly recommended!

Great staff that is knowledgable

We've been taking our dog to this location for 13 years. The staff is very caring and treats our dog like she's their own. They're kind and very easy to work with and always treat our dog with care. They have helped us with problems, both easy and hard, and always come through with the dog's best interests in mind. I highly recommend them!
