So Laura the director was nice enough to email me a few days ago while I was grieving the situation with my 3-year-old pup whos terminal now. Laura instructed me my negative review was affecting her teams' morale. I'm so sorry during MY …

From the moment I called to the moment I left, I felt we were genuinely cared for. Kelsey was my first point of contact, and I will say, she’s the reason why I made the decision to bring Fingal to VEG. She was patient, reassuring, gentle, …

My 13 year old Tabby is very fiesty and has anxiety. She had to be put on oxygen since she was hyperventilating. A lot of tests were needed to get a diagnosis and I could not afford them. Dr. Todd was so patient and helpful with us, she discussed every option and even helped me find some more affordable care at another facility. These people go above and beyond for the care of animals. Every person in the staff I encountered was amazing, especially the nurse who got me the extra bag for cat food. (I forgot her name, but I'm so grateful!)Earth Angels!!!!

I have never been to the ER with my dog until today. Milo scratched at his stitches from a dog bite and they came out so I needed to get his wound closed quickly and our vet couldn't fit us in. VEG was amazing. So efficient, so kind and so patient. Dr. Jacob and his tech Lisa were SO nice and calm. Milo was seen the minute I walked in the door and was given lots of love and attention. I felt confident right away that Dr. Jacob knew exactly what to do and I loved his calm and confident nature. I know that ER's can be $$ but now I know where to go when in need! I was very impressed by my whole experience. Now I just need to have Milo wear his cone for 10 days!!

VEG was amazing- from start to finish! The emergency hospital that our regular vet recommends was very short with me on the phone and I just didn’t feel comfortable going there. That’s when I looked up other nearby places and found VEG. When I called, they put me on the phone with a doctor right away which impressed me from the start. I spent 3 hours there getting tests and X-rays done but during that time I had so many different staff members come check on me, give me updates, assure me that we were still being taken care of, etc. They spent time answering all my questions and keeping my pup in high spirits. The little stuff like that means the world. The doctor was also extremely thorough in explaining my testing and treatment options. I didn’t feel pushed to do unnecessary things. She simply laid out all my options, what each one entailed, and the results they would produce. And let ME choose what I was comfortable with from there. I am so glad I came here. I wish I could remember every staff member that helped us, you were all great!! Thank you! And thank you Dr. Todd and Carlos. Creamington is feeling so much better- and so is his mama! Only reason I took one star off is because the prices are pretty steep. While I understand the X-ray being $500- the visit was $1,000 total. I was charged for every little possible thing ????????and really didn’t leave with a diagnosis.

My cat became paralyzed suddenly, can barely moved his legs, rear legs in particular. Took to the VEG, and they did urine and blood tests. As they found no problem from the test, they concluded that it is due to osteochondrodysplasia. Seriously?! You found no problem in urine and blood tests, then blame OCD? Just because of my cat is Scottish fold? After all, my cat is only 4 years old, and had never shown any prior symptom of OCD. Then I transferred my cat to a regular vet, and they immediately disagreed the OCD conclusion. Finally, they identified the root cause was related to neurology, and my cat now is fully recovered. I will never go to VEG anymore.

Every person in here was incredibly kind. Not only to my pet, but to all of the pets under distress. The staff was so helpful with my babygirl Piper, and ensured I was comfortable while I waited. They immediately put her in an oxygen space ship, and took every test so they didnt miss anything. 24hrs later Piper & I are cuddling on the couch. So grateful.

I couldn't speak more highly of this place. The staff are so incredibly nice and helpful. They take time to really understand what's going on and don't rush through when assessing your pet. I've gone here a few times and I'm always extremely impressed by the staffs level of care and kindness.

I brought my cat late in the evening on Christmas Day because he had difficulty breathing. The staff attended to him immediately and treated the emergency with care and professionalism. Thanks to their expert care, my cat's condition stabilized. I was allowed to sit by the side as they treated my cat, as well as stay by his side while he was in an oxygen chamber. They even offered me a cot if I wanted to sleep there. Dr. Schwartz was especially amazing. She acted swiftly to treat my pet and took time to sit with me and explain everything with clarity and compassion. She was honest about what she knew and didn't know, explained her reasoning for treatment option and prognosis, told me what to do and what I could expect, and took her time to answer any questions I had. The doctors there are amazing, and the only reason why the clinic as a whole didn't get 5 stars was because there seemed to be some transition and communication issues once I left. What the doctor initially told me didn't happen, I suppose because plans changed but the staff was too busy to call and update me.

I would just like to thank VEG for taking me seriously. I called 4 pet emergency rooms and was blown off and told it wasn’t an emergency. The person who answered my call told me absolutely bring my dog in, and unfortunately she had to be put down. But I can’t thank these lovely people enough for the prompt care and their help. I’ve never met such compassionate vets. They made my girls transition so much easier on me and my family. Thank you so much.

My husband and I just got back from bringing our pup here after she experienced a few days of vomiting and some not so great looking BMs. It's an emergency hospital, so I was expecting (and willing) to wait a good 3+ hours. When we got there, a technician (I believe Jace) examined her almost immediately. After that, we went back to the lobby and waited maybe only another hour or so before the doctor saw us. Got pup some IV fluids and meds and sent us on our way. The staff was AMAZING. Every single person I interacted with was friendly, professional, kind...I can't say enough good things. The lobby was clean and inviting. I mean truly a great experience (given the circumstances -- I'm sure Evie would say otherwise since she got a thermometer up the butt lol). I can't thank you all enough for what you do! Stay safe, stay healthy, and happy new year!

I brought my kitty, Simba, to VEG about a week after adopting him because it was very difficult to get a regular vet checkup during the holiday season. Simba seemed to have a URI; I initially waited for it to go away due to its commonality, but Simba's eye was closing shut from the amount of discharge it was producing, and his excessive sneezing turned into coughing. His appetite was getting worse and he was uncomfortable, so I decided to take him in around 10pm on a Friday. The facility itself was beautiful, welcoming, cozy and really put my mind at ease. I did not expect the place to be so lively, especially in the later evening and into midnight, but staff were super involved and friendly, allowing me to be present with Simba the entire time. I'm unsure of what the names of all the staff members who helped him were, but there was clearly a lot of teamwork within the staff which really elevated the quality of care he got, and for that, I really want to thank everyone on the staff. Dr. Cox was very helpful and knowledgable, and I am so very grateful for the attention and care Simba got that night--as is he! Thank you, VEG, for alleviating his discomfort; he's having a blast watching the snow with both eyes wide open :)

Very kind doctors and staff! Brought our old dog in on Christmas Eve; he'd had surgery 4 days before and his stitches looked worrisome. The place was packed (they were the only emergency vet open with surgeon for the holiday) and they rushed us in for an observation but then we had to wait about an hour for treatment. After cleaning and checking our dog's stitches, the doctor said "thanks for waiting so long. I won't charge you for this visit. Merry Christmas!"

I’d ignore every bad review this place has and take your pet here. They did a wonderful job and had my dog all fixed up and back to his normal self in a timely manner, the staff was very friendly, helpful and knew what they were doing.

We were very happy with the care received. Jace our nurse was superb at handling our Beagle even though she was so anxious with the visit due to the pain she was experiencing. Jace helped us on the phone the night before giving us tips to keep Addy safe before the visit. Dr Billand asked all the right questions about Adddy’s problem and took care to examine her thoroughly and explain her assessment and diagnosis to us. She was great. It was easy to trust her and she explained treatment, anticipatory guidance and proper follow up and meds. Carlos at check in and check out was friendly and professional. We definitely appreciated how well the team worked together

I would've loved to write a 5 star review for VEG since everything was great for the most part - I rushed my puppy for an emergency surgery due to her spay but when I picked her up and brought her home - they had forgotten to remove the IV needle from her leg. This could have been extremely dangerous if I didn't see it on time.

VEG took great care of my kitten after an unexpected poison emergency! Not only were they extremely friendly and reassuring, but they worked hard to keep their care within my budget while still doing everything necessary to help my Elsie. The entire staff communicated well and made sure I knew exactly what was going on in terms of their diagnosis and treatment. I felt very comfortable leaving her overnight, and they worked hard to make sure she was ready to come home the next morning. I’d recommend VEG to anyone in the midst of a pet emergency. I could not have asked for better care! Elsie is feeling great after what could have otherwise been a very disasterous situation :)

I can't say enough positive things about Veterinary Emergency Group. As a first time dog owner, I've been lucky enough to not have had to deal with many health issues for my dog (knock on wood!), but this past weekend my dog had some pretty significant tummy issues and was not acting herself, and my regular vet did not have any open appointments. My own stress about the situation was met with genuine empathy and support from everybody at Veterinary Emergency Group. The team at VEG was incredibly competent and I knew that my dog was in good hands. Everybody was so kind and helpful! I especially appreciated that I was able to stay with my dog throughout the process, as she can be pretty nervous at the vet. All of the staff were wonderful, and the vet provided me several options for diagnostics and treatment for my dog while also staying mindful of cost. Given the hefty cost of emergency care, this consideration was so appreciated. Thank you so much for everything!

I thank the staff 4 helping my cat with her asthma!!! But when you on a fixed income you only could do the best you can do so I'm going to look for a veterinarian for my cat that don't charge me a whole bunch of money so therefore when my cat get sick with her asthma she has to see a veterinarian!!! Like the doctor said we won't have to wind up back there at that place(.it)..... I was there 4 months ago with my cat blue well that next day blue passed away????????????

I truly cannot say enough positive things about this staff and my experiences. I’ve had to take my kitten in twice- once for being bitten by a dog and once when he fell off a balcony after getting scared. The staff there are unbelievably warm, and kind, and patient. They were so comforting and answered all my questions and made my kitten feel so loved. They are so personable and sweet to the animals and thorough as can possibly be! In my second emergency, I never hesitated- I took my cat straight to them. They’re animal angels :) I owe them so much!

I took my dog here because I suspected he got into something he wasn’t supposed to, I was an emotional wreck. But I’m a physician myself so kinda know the ropes. They basically did nothing for him and still don’t know what happened. They took an X-ray and thought MAYBE there was a foreign body in his stomach but it didn’t seem related. All labs normal. Ultrasound normal. So they just gave him some fluids and that was it, for a grand total of $1300. That was a total rip off. I expected to pay about 700-900. But 1300 for no diagnosis, no surgery, and a bag of saline that cost $1….Just wow. I still don’t understand why they didn’t try to induce vomiting after I told them I’m pretty sure he ate something. Today my dog is fine and I will be taking him to my regular vet tomorrow I did find the nurses very comforting in such a stressful situation however.

Having a French Bulldog, it’s pretty common to find yourself facing health scares that result in you and your pup at the ER. We’ve had our fair share of vet visits but out of all the Emergency Vet clinics we’ve have visited, none were as comforting or wonderful as the experience we had at VEG!! I came in on a holiday weekend and my dog was having serious pain due to a herniated disc in her neck. Dr. Cox went above and beyond to connect me to another ER hospital with the specialty my dog needed and also treated my pup for the pain immediately. The staff at the front desk and on the phone are so kind and straightforward and the technicians were also amazing throughout the whole visit. Overall it was a 10/10 10 experience, and I would recommend VEG to all my friends and family for their pet emergencies.

Absolutely incredible to me & my cat. He was very sick & died unexpectedly, they were so kind to us. A friend pointed out the vet was better to us than when we went to the human ER.

We could not be more thankful to everyone at VEG for our experience. Our dog unfortunately passed away and Dr. Cox and Genesis were so kind and caring during the worst moment of our lives. The memorial we received for our Walter truly blew us away. We got a paw imprint with his name on it, a paw print, a nose print, his ashes and some of his fur. My boyfriend and I have continued to talk about how thankful we were to have taken Walter to this hospital. Thank you so much.

This was my first visit to any vet ever and I am really really impressed. Our cat had issues going to the bathroom and after doing some research we found out it was pretty serious. We called to see if we could come in that day and were at VEG within 30 minutes. They were able to take him in as soon as we got there and quickly began the check up. Everyone there was professional, kind, and treated every pet that walked in with care. The facility itself was spotless as well which made being there for long periods of time bearable. Overall I would highly recommend this place for any emergency, thank you to everyone who helped take care of our cat that day, truly an amazing team.

We took our dog here after he ate a foreign body object. He is 11 months old and this was the first time we ever had a very serious emergency with him. His dad and I were very scared!! The team at VEG took SUCH good care of him and his dog human parents. They kept us informed throughout the entire process and never once did we not know exactly the plan/ what was going on with him. They treated him so very well and now he’s back home safe with us. We couldn’t say enough good things about the people who work at VEG Lincoln Park. They made the worst situation of our lives as comfortable as possible. Boomer our baby is back home resting. Thank you, thank you, thank you the team at VEG Lincoln Park. You all are heros.

Dr. Jacob and his team were not only companionate, sensitive and supportive, but it is obvious they truly care. They helped make my 11-year-old dog’s final moments as peaceful as they could and I will forever be grateful for that. As soon as we came into the facility, they immediately jumped into action to assess her issues and do what they could. I’ve never been to an emergency vet that allows you to stay by your pet’s side, and while it was a heartbreaking, it meant a lot to be able to be there with her the whole time. They were very thorough and made sure I understood every step of the process and what our options were. Sometimes I feel like vets try to take advantage of you in a desperate time when all you want is your beloved pet to be better, but I knew I could trust their professional opinion and that they were working with the best intentions. I wish I had been taking her to them her whole life. If you ever have an emergency for your pet, don’t hesitate to come here. Thank you to all the staff for helping ease and comfort us during our difficult time.
