SpaBARK! - Mobile Grooming Chicago, Illinois

I'm not one to typically leave reviews -- I generally like to be a positive, supportive person for small businesses! However, we had such a disappointing experience with SpaBark I felt it was important to share. The visit started with me having to hand off our dog through the van driver's side window, while the groomer was driving, without asking what we'd like done. It ended with us being charged nearly $120 for a wash and a "trim" - barely noticeable. I asked the groomer if she could come back and take more off, to which she said no. So I was charged $120 for basically a bath, attempted to follow up with customer service for some sort of discount based on my poor experience. To that, I was repeatedly sent rude text messages by the staff over the course of the night. To date, this is the worst I have ever been treated as a customer by a business. (Yes, I was bummed I paid $120 for a bath, but I was even more disheartened by being essentially bullied over text!) It pains me to say that, but I really want to avoid others from encountering the same experience I did. That said, I'd advise doing elsewhere for your grooming services!

Easy and stress free for my anxious pup.

Rude, crude, boorish. I had two dogs groomed a year ago. - fine job (thank you Dori) but they (the rude abusive owner) were rude and abusive over the fone. Never again will I ever use spAbark. NEVER.

They arrived within the window they gave us. Joel was super friendly and catered his approach to our two dogs based on their needs. He used clippers with our girl because she was scared of the noise from the trimmer and took his time with our blind senior boy, taking care not to hit any of his skintags and worked out the knots in his fur instead of shaving them off like other groomers we've used. Will definitely use them again, so convenient to have them come out to us and we were definitely pleased with the results.

Wow! This company is amazing. They were very excellent at communicating despite my insane schedule. It's hard for me to answer the phone at work but they could text me, so that was a great start for us! I have two mini Aussies, they take some serious time to groom and are highly anxious while being groomed. Alicia seemed to do excellent with them. They have the cutest little haircuts and they smell and feel incredible! I had let them know ahead of time we were getting married and the dogs are apart of our day, they threw in a free nail trim and bath for our little chihuahua on the spot! I meant to add her nail trim ahead of time and forgot. They didn't have to accommodate this as I'm sure they're very busy! But wow is this some serious customer service. We will definitely be using them again! They arrived in the cleanest van, parked right outside and got it all done in TWO HOURS!!! So happy! Thanks for kicking off our wedding week so positively!

Great grooming service that comes to you and your furry friend. They do an excellence job and provide several services for your pet. Very friendly and I have been using them for years nows.

Appointment confirmed last night at 10pm for this morning at 10:30am. (I made this appointment 4 days before with a confirmation sent about 12 hours before the appointment ) I had to rearrange my entire schedule and groomer never showed up or contacted me. I called and left messages & emailed the company. Very unprofessional and disappointed I would’ve trusted you alone with my pet. Hoping this review will help anyone attempting to use this company for their services.

READ PRIOR TO BOOKING WITH SPABARK.. if you have any sort of schedule, DO NOT USE SPABARK.. they never come at the set appt time.. they show up when they want. Then , when they show up 3 hours early, they’ll penalize you for not being ready and cancel your grooming appts. HORRIBLE AWFUL DESPICABLE service. Here’s a novel idea , ladies .. SHOW UP AT THE SET APPT TIME!! ITS NOT ABOUT YALL. ITs ABOUT YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS. NASTY NASTY PEOPLE HERE. And dear social media manager who tries their best to do damage control after screwing over people’s schedule , SAVE YOUR REPLY. IT DOES NOTHING . Many reviews on here about SpaBark not showing up at the set time then penalizing customers and yelling at them when they’re not ready 3-6 hours PRIOR to the appt. they are the worst. Absolutely the worst.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! SpaBark is Great!!! My wife and I have been looking for some place to get our 1 year old pup groomed. We were planning on taking him to Pet Supplies Plus but having the option for a mobile groom was significantly move convent. I called SpaBark and left a voice message asking if I could schedule an appointment with them. They were incredibly kind and informed me that they were already fully booked and couldn't take on new customers but offered to help find another groom in the area that could help. I was lucky enough that they actually were able to fit in a grooming time for my pup and I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! They were incredibly professional, caring, and aware of the a first time owners questions and concerns. The groomer told me that since it's his first time they are going to go slow with him so they don't scare him and they might not be able to groom his head if he is nervous. Hearing this was such a relief knowing my pup was in good caring hands and I didn't have to worry about him. He came out looking fantastic, they did exactly what I asked for. If I am able to get another grooming time when my pup need a new hair cut I will call them first. Thank you SpaBark!

I had my 2 springers groomed by Dorie yesterday. The dogs have never been groomed professionally and were both nervous but she took her time and they both came back beautiful and smelled great. My schedule is also crazy being a nurse but they worked with me until we found the right time and day. They sent me a text when they were on the way and when the first dog was finished. Very pleased with their services and would highly recommend them!!

Was very pleased with the service and so was the owner. I like the fact that the groomer took her time and the outcome was excellent! Will definitely recommend this service.

I made a reservation on-line, unless I missed it no exact price was given for bath services-only add-on services (I wanted all). No one ever called to confirm, discuss (or decline) my appointment and when I called today I get a voicemail. UGH! I was REALLY looking forward to my cat having this 'door service' experience-and the price (obviously) was the least of my concerns as I scheduled the appointment w/o hesitation. I just think it is not the best business practice.... I would LOVE to update my review w/ a more positive one- if only someone would call me. In the interim, [less than] ONE star and TWO sad faces- mine and my cat's!

SpaBARK has been grooming my babies, Gus and Milo (Shih Tzu & Lhasa Apso) for almost 2 years. When I moved to Chicago I tried different groomers but found them to be unreliable or rushed through their grooming. Then I found Spa Bark and could not be happier!! They are so reliable and always here when they say they will be. Gus and Milo love their groomer and it's obvious she loves them. Due to my work, I've had to reschedule a couple of times and they could not have been nicer and more accommodating in rescheduling me. After their baths and hair cuts they look fabulous!! If you are looking for a groomer, you won't find a better one. Their rates are very reasonable and you will definitely love them as much as Gus, Milo and I do!

Excellent service. We were looking for a mobile groomer since our dog is ill and nervous to go to her regular groomer. I reached out to SpaBARK and they were very quick to respond and answer questions. We scheduled an appointment and everything went very smoothly. They were right on time and took care of our pet.
